Mid-day Friday out for shopping in Barney, and needed a meal before setting off home. It was noisy in the dining area (mothers and terrible twos) so kept to the central pub tables. The order came after 20 minutes, but worth the wait. 7 chips...More

Called in for drinks on Saturday evening. Although only 7pm there were quite a few people in and a good atmosphere. Peroni on draught is always a plus. One of the better pubs in Barnard Castle as far as I’m concerned

Cheerful pub, pleasant staff. Large portions, averagely priced. Acceptable wines and they do a daily cake and coffee deal. Clean and tidy and I wish we had stayed there instead of the Old Well Inn.More

Hi Jacqueline P, We allow dogs on our terrace, but not inside I'm afraid. A lot of people do eat outside in the summer, which you are welcome to do, but it's maybe a bit chilly at the moment! Thanks!
