Dire!!! From the seating, the most uncomfortable and restrictive I have every experienced to the food, which was mediocre at best. We had roast beef Sunday lunch at 17.00, I think the beef had been sitting in the warming plate since 15.00. Service was poor....I recognise that Covid 19 guidelines are in force but this should not stop the need to deliver an efficient service.More

A great setting and a very comfortable large bedroom with a beautiful view of a stormbound Western Solent. What a great place in good weather! Very attentive and friendly staff made us very welcome. Breakfasts good.

Four of us met for pre Christmas lunch. A warm welcome and we were - at first - pleased to have a table in the window. But it was so cold due to drafts from the old Windows, we had to move. The menu looked...good and all four of us chose something different. Three diners were very pleased with their main course, which was served really quickly, but one diner ordered the Turkey dinner. But it should have been Jerky dinner! Plenty of Turkey, but it was rock hard and very clearly just re heated. It did not even have any gravy to soften it up. Dessert was disappointing. Cheesecake that tasted like it had come out of a spray can, tasting nothing like any cheesecake I have ever eaten before. Sadly as a friend was paying, we did not feel as though we could complain at the time. I certainly would have done if I could have slid away! So, mixed feelings, but I would certainly advise going for something on the menu that clearly has to be cooked to order - and avoid the desserts.More

Although we were not staying there we managed to get a table in the restaurant with great views of the Isle of Wight. The menu is good and there are small portions available of certain dishes. The prices are reasonable.

The surroundings are beautiful, serene, perched just across from the Isle of Wight. Title of this review says it in terms of food on offer.

Stopped here for weekend lunch. Staff friendly and food ok, but nothing special. But on the plus side it was reasonably cheap and perfectly edible and quick to come. We sat outside and it felt a bit tatty and under maintained in the garden.

Not cheap but food excellent, in a lovely old building. Plenty of outside seating with views of the sea.

Situated just of the coastal path on the way to Milford it's a great lunch stop. A huge imposing house with a big family friendly garden. The inside is all wood paneling, large staircases and art work making it all very interesting. Good selection of...local beers and the menus cover all bases. We stopped for a steak sandwich and a fish finger sandwich. The cob bread was the better choice. Friendly staff and prices are good.More

Been here for breakfast a few times now. The building is lovely and has a wonderful terrace and garden. The breakfast menu is great, and the food good quality. The staff are friendly and helpful. The Hot Chocolate is a MUST.

Visited for evening drink & nibbles with friends. Friendly staff. Good menu choices, well cooked and priced ok for a hotel bar. Shame they had run out of 'dog treats' for our canine friend. We enjoyed the sea views so much we returned within days...and ate here again.More
