We popped in on spec, with no reservation, and although the place was busy, were found a table very quickly. We received a really warm welcome, and prompt and charming service. The food was excellent (particularly the crab salad off the specials menu), and we...chatted to the manager(s) after eating. There was a very friendly crowd of locals in - it is easy to see why the Fisherman's Rest attracts a local following. The Fisherman's Rest is a rare example of what real hospitality is all about. Thank you to all there for a really lovely evening. (We tried to book for the following evening, but it was full - which does not surprise us at all!)More

Really good menu and lots of choice. We had a fish special and a mixed grill. Portion sizes were perfect and the food was amazing. Staff were super attentive and very friendly. One of a party was taken ill during our meal and the staff...were very helpful and arranged a taxi to get us home and helped us out. We sat out in the garden which was really beautiful. They aren’t taking tips over card right now so make sure you bring cash for the tip!More

We ended up eating here 3 times during our recent week’s holiday in Lymington! A really lovely pub with an equally lovely garden serving a varied and excellent menu! Everything we had was delicious and well priced, service was excellent and we would definitely say...we had the best food all week here at The Fishermen’s Rest! Highly recommended!More

We were pleased to be able to sit outside in the lovely garden on a warm summers evening. He had the back ribs, I had the sole special and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Following the problems caused by the pandemic, we know that...the UK hospitality industry is struggling to get back on its feet, and added to that, there's a real shortage of trained service staff. So we really appreciated the great service we had overall, despite a bit of a delay for dessert (which was also lovely). A lovely evening.More

Had the most excellent dinner here and were very lucky to get a table as it is so popular. We both chose from the special s menu, having whole sea bass oriental style and cod steak with cheesy potatoes and both were absolutely delicious and...very good size portions. The bottle of Chardonnay was chilled and tasty, the Fuller's beer superb as usual and the desserts were excellent. With lovely attentive staff, great ambience and all covid precautions, I would have no hesitation in recommending this delightful pub and hope you're as lucky as us to be able to book a tableMore

We went here twice during our short break in Lymington. The food was great and good value. The daily specials were fabulous, the chef was inventive and innovative. The fish dishes were amazing! Our experience was slightly let down by front of house staff who...tended to be brusque.More

This is just outside the main town. Parking available directly outside but booking essential. Operates more than one sitting but the ambience, service and food is excellent. The Sticky Toffee pudding is the best one I’ve ever had! Highly recommended

After such a long time not being able to eat out The Fisherman’s Rest was great. They had taken trouble to extend their Alfresco dining area with the limited space available. Service, care and food was very good.

Go to the Fisherman's Rest Lymington website. Click Food & Drink at the top of the page. Then click Main Menu at the right. This is their everyday menu. They also have several specials each day.
