We are staying at premier inn and arrived early for check in so wanted a quick lunch. We were outside in the sun and used the app to order and pay. It was seamless service and very friendly. The chicken club baguette was good and great value, children’s sausages and adult burger great too. All the staff were very friendly and all adhering by the COVID rules. however the breakfast was a very disappointing. The staff were run off there feet but waiting 45 minutes to receive our drinks was not the best. Due to COVID restrictions all tables needed to order at the table. Could this of been a preorder with the hotel? As all arriving for breakfast were guests would of been less stress for the kitchen and staff. When the food did arrive we were missing lots of things and the toast didn’t arrive we decided to leave and will be going elsewhere for breakfast. We then thought let’s do a takeaway for dinner, my husband went to collect and the team were puzzled. All menus in hotel and app stated it was possible but they said they didn’t do it. My husband showed the receipt and food was being made 45minutes later we received the wrong meal and when the food did arrive was a hour after collection time, due to location of the hotel we wanted a easy dinner due to long day exploring. I think it only fair to place average as the experiences were very different.

Hi Gemma. Thank you for leaving feedback. It seems you had a mixed experience and I apologise for the things that did not quite work for you. We are all trying to adapt to the ever changing ways of working and things can go wrong , especially with the exceptionally busy period we have experienced. We do work with the Premier Inn really closely now and I will ask the Manager if pre-ordering is an option. Kind Regards, Ian

Although we had a wonderful meal it was spoilt by the wait especially with two youngsters .We were shown our table at 6:10 pm,ordered our meals at 6:25pm,it was not until 30minutes had passed we were told one of the meals was unable to be fulfilled and would have to be changed therefore the wait was another45 minutes,by which time the youngest was getting hungry. We know the staff are working so hard because of the new government deals and maybe opening another till might of helped. I know the next time I visit it will be different as I have never been disappointed by this company ,just today was not to be.

Went for lunch at this Hungry Horse restaurant for the first time. Pleasantly surprised by the range of food on offer and the prices were very good value considering that many places have hiked their prices during the pandemic. Staff were very pleasant and we ate at a time when it wasn't too busy. Food was served piping hot - we had to wait a while for each course, but food was freshly cooked. I had the vegan mushroom and ale pie which was tasty, although the pastry was a little on the soft side. Chips were freshly made. Husband had a huge steak cooked as he ordered it. Dessert was apple crumble and custard for the other half and vegan apple crumble with vegan ice cream for me. My halloumi finger starter was tasty and the batter was extremely light and crispy. All in all a tasty meal at a decent price in a calm atmosphere.

I visited here after reading on the website they offer takeaway pizza. With me not wanting to go and sit in and only staying across the car park at the premier Inn I thought it sounds a good idea to me....... £6.99 later I had placed an order for a takeaway pepperoni pizza and was waiting for my food. I was handed a box and made my way back to the hotel to find a pizza that had just 6 pieces of pepperoni and it was un cut (a little issue in a hotel room so I had to improvise with a teaspoon). Not the best experience is I say so and the pizza was way to small for £6.99 and I've had better tasting pizza from the supermarket.

Huge portions, very nice promotions and daily offers. Food and beverages are in good prices. Our steaks on big platters were undercooked but the rest was very nice. The portion of food for 7.50 was so huge that we were able to eat just a half. Good choice of beers, TV by almost every table, friendly stafd with can do attitude, clean toilets etc. Great place for a casual meeting or watching sport.

My husband booked a table on Sunday for us and our son and needless to say service was slow. We arrived and were seen to within a couple minutes. We sat down and my husband placed order at the bar but staff forgot drinks order fairly quickly. Food took a while to arrive - we got the sharer platter which missed off the onion rings and waitress was either the only one as it took ages to clear the plate and when she did advised the main would take 12 minutes (ordered the lasagna pizza to share) we waited at least 20 minutes and were offered a free dessert as it was acknowledged on the wait. However after the meal we couldn't manage the dessert and left. Overall it was disappointing, This was our first time and definitely our last. We arrived at 14:15 and left at 16:00 so for 1 started and 1 main to share 1 hour 45 minutes is a bit too long with the long wait.

We use the Mill quite frequently, not because it's in walking distance on a nice evening but because we always feel welcome as soon as you walk in. Quick service at the bar and always accomodating with changes to the menu. Of the many times we've eaten there we've always been happy with our meal and even when the pub is obviously busy and there's a wait, there has been no compromise on quality. On top of all this, the price is amazing - such great food for such a low cost. Great value for money - couldn't recommend highly enough.

Food arrived at different times, only two of us dining. Food arrived with part of the meal missing, we were told it would arrive in a moment...............we waited, we reminded and then it arrived 12 minutes after meal first arrived. Fool was just warm in temperature, and cold before we finished meal. Pub was not busy, service seemed lazy.

We visited The Mill last week whilst in Eastbourne, mainly attracted by previous good experiences at Hungry Horse establishments. Surprisingly thou that were virtually empty at approx 4.30pm we were told we should have booked and they weren't sure whether they could accommodate us , anyway they did unfortunately. Half the products on the menu were unavailable, no notices about shortages and not told in advance of this, we muddled through and chose our meals and drinks , and to be fair the drinks and starters arrived fairly quickly and although not great mushrooms overcooked and Halloumi fries very greasy. Main took over 45 minutes to arrive after we had the starters, and on ordering more drinks including Coca Cola we were served the soft drinks in a smaller glasses than previously yet charged the same. When questioned about this the bar person called a lady who I assume was manager, she was quite abrupt and offish with us claiming the larger glasses were used if you had ice the smaller if you didn't , (never come across this before anywhere). This didn't make any sense as on both occasions we had ice in the drinks anyway, but apparently it the amount of cubes that matter, because as we all know they have time to count ice cubes into a glass on a bar . Anyway she was adamant she wasn't prepared to do anything about it. Our mains eventually arrived, again not great, some was Luke warm , overcooked steak , small portions, and as it was curry night two large curries which were missing the dips, when queried they said they didn't have any, but we weren't told this beforehand and they charged us the same , Quick to argue about a couple of squirts of extra coke in a glass like we were trying it on ( which we weren't) , yet they were more than happy to short change us on the meals. Overall the shortage of items on the menu, the slow service ,the mediocre food quality and the poor attitude of the manager means we would not return here even if in the area . Probably they realised we were tourists and they wouldn't care anyway , which is fair enough but for a chain establishment it makes us think twice about trying other Hungry Horse establishments elsewhere .

First time at this lovely Resturant, also first time dining in since lockdown. The person who greeted us on our arrival explained in good detail of what the Resturant had in place for safety re Covid 19. Hand gel on arrival, one way system and trace and track system in place. Tables cleaned thoroughly between customers. Ordering by one member of party and food delicious ( took a little while to arrive but well worth the wait), take something to occupy smaller children while waiting.

Worst breakfast we have ever had!! Where to begin? We had been staying at the premier inn both establishments are in the same car park so we paid £19 to premier inn for 2 breakfasts at the hungry horse situated just a few yards away, what a mistake! On the morning we had been booked for Breakfast at 8am got there at 8am and waited ages to be seated standing in the doorway with out 3 year old in his pyjamas, eventually a person asked us for our room number and told us to take a seat, we sat at a table and it was very sticky, we wiped it down with our serviettes and proceeded to help ourselves to the continental breakfast! What a joke that was! Muesli was just tipped into a large bowel looked very inedible, orange juice had run out, we gave our son some coco pops and poured the milk from a jug on the side, while pouring the milk it left a residue on the side of the jug like it has been sitting there some time, I went to get a coffee only to find out there is no filter coffee or coffee machine! It’s only instant…. Yes just instant it’s coffee in a sachet like you get in the hotel! The toaster did not work properly as we tried to cook my son a crumpet but after putting in the toaster 3 times it just come out white, there is a big notice on the toaster telling you to not adjust the heat setting, I asked the waitress if there was any white bread as I wanted some toast? Only to be told there wasn’t and she has been struggling to order it from her supplier!! Was asked if we wanted to order hot food we ordered 2 cooked breakfasts my wife asked for no tomato’s or black pudding on hers I asked for 2 eggs and some extra bacon, I mean the advert says as much brekkie as you can eat! After 20 mins the hot food arrived and it was disgusting absolutely disgusting my wife had tomato and black pudding on hers I had no extra bacon, the eggs were so hard you could not cut them, the sausages were under cooked the beans had a thick layer of skin on them, we left the whole lot and walked out! The whole place is disgusting and a total embarrassment to premier inn even tho it’s owned by a different company, premier inn send their customers there! I am an honest man and we had been looking forward to this trip for a long time and I can’t fault premier inn it’s definitely not their fault. We ended up getting our breakfast elsewhere, where the place was cleaner and had better cooked food, oh and plenty of bread!

The only saving grace of this place was the staff who were friendly, helpful, polite (with the exception of the blonde waitress who called across the restaurant, calling her colleague a "d*ckhe*d") and Covid 19 secure. That was as good as it got. Food direct from a greasy spoon menu, ripped and filthy seat coverings, tables that have been wiped so many times the varnish and stain has been removed. It looked like a YMCA! Greene King Directors should go here, eat and then rate this place honestly. They will hang their heads in shame. I will never go to a Hungry Horse again. So where is their bottom line then? The business model appears to be selling works canteen food at silly, bargain basement prices.

We stayed at the premier inn opposite for 2 nights had breakfast on the 31st October service was excellent and food was good. Went back later in the day about 4.30 for a couple of drinks and had to wait 20 mins before someone came to serve us,after the young girl at the entrance said she would send someone over, they were not even busy. Breakfast the next morning, we pre booked a time. When we arrived the girl at the entrance said find a table someone will be over soon. 20 mins later a woman came over and wasn’t at all interested in us. Took our order and the drinks took over 15 minutes to arrive and after 30 mins of no sign of breakfast my daughter in law went over to complain to a girl who was just sitting down, she said she would find out. After another 10mins it all arrived with no sorry for the wait etc, again the restaurant was not busy. A very disappointing experience after a promising start.

Dinner - dull, plain, no taste. I had pizza and was just greasy, my partner had steak upgrade, wanted medium rare and was cooked from well done to rare, tasted horrible and fatty. Breakfast- waited 45 mins for bowl of cereal. My partner waited 45 mins for an English breakfast, the bacon was cold and dry, the mushrooms was cold, there was no black pudding, salt and vinegar which he asked for, and the butter for the bread was just oil in a wrap. What concerned us the most was the older male staff was walking around serving food with his screen mask above his head! I was incredibly worried.

Hi Thank you for leaving feedback. I am sorry that you did not have a positive experience. I wish you had raised your concerns about your evening meal while on site. We could have remedied straight away. Breakfast service yesterday was difficult. 40 people arrived at once from the hotel meaning delays occurred. As for the server who had a shield on their head - that was me. I am exempt from wearing a face covering due to an underlying health issue however I wear a shield on my head and cover my face with it when I need to engage with a guest. Kind Regards Ian

Out on a work meeting seemed busy but not a problem food was ok. Was nice to be served by a very polite young lady called Tina I think that was her name. Very prompt and well mannered. Steak was a little over done to my liking and what I asked for but could see the staff were very busy so didn't want to make a fuss. Especially when I heard other customers moaning for no reason. Keep up the good work
