Been to Plutzer Brau quite a few times now and always had a great time and so it proved on our latest visit to this most beautiful of city's. This bar looks cool,wood panelled walls, great decor and furnishings including a cool looking serving bar,...rows of shiny beer vats prominently on display and plenty of seating options spread throughout this bar both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling Schrankgasse. We were here on a Sunday late afternoon, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of staff who served us a beer each,we opted to have a beer from the Czech Republic and we both opted to have a Kozel beer ,these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and as is the norm with kozel beer with a big foamy head, we just chilled out and took in the great bar we were in. My kozel beer was outstanding, kozel beer is such a light,hoppy and unpretentious beer bursting with taste,very easy to drink, a great beer to enjoy on a hot afternoon. We really enjoyed our beers in here and the great vibe so much so that we ended up staying for another beer each before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. Plutzer Brau is easy to locate on Schrankgasse. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, 10am till Midnight. A great bar,if your in the area well worth checking out.More

We went there for a few drinks and some late night snacks. A hot day, so maybe the waiter was already fed up with his job ... nevertheless he seemed quite impatient though the place was not crowded at all. Had a Hugo first where...there was one brown peppermint leave swimming on top - elsewise I would have hardly noticed that it was a Hugo at all. The "Brauhausbrot" was difficult to eat/cut and did not even taste nicely. Beer was o.k - but there's hardly anything you could mess up with serving beer ;-) All in all: there are other and better places to see in this area ...More

Ignorant, nationalistic waiter, no menu in English because it is supposed to be an "Austrian" restaurant, xenophobia at its best. Left the place because of no service

I had a dinner there with my family group. We had a reservation there at 19:30 and the order was taken at around 20:00. While I was ordering the food the waiter just went away without an explanation. So, as it was noisy in order...to facilitate the order we wrote down the food on a piece of paper and we handed it over to him. After an hour of waiting, while other table had already received the food in the meantime, the food came and there was a mistake. The waiter told us that it was our mistake so I asked him to show me the paper we had given him, which was obviously lost. Anyway he very rudely claimed that it was our mistake and we just had to admit it. We were all so upset by the rudeness and nonsenseless of the situation that we forgot how the food tasted.More

The food here was nice enough as it's the atmosphere but note that they charge you for tap water and 1€ for ketchup for chips. Then they made us wait over 30 mins to post because their machine didn't work then they asked us to...walk 15 mins in the cold to the closest ATM. Eventually they got the machine working so we didn't have to cut they weren't apologetic at all. Probably this is a restaurant for tourists.More

Here is a typical tavern like restaurant with waiters wearing leather pants and carrying piles of heavy beer glasses! We discovered mix beer existed: blend of blond and dark not joking!
