We walked past here on our first night and it looked busy and welcoming . We went the next night and were first in ( it opens at 6pm ) . It’s not a big place but it did feel homely . The menu is...presented to you on a big chalk board , which suggests that the menu is changed regularly . We both had pasta dishes , which were as good as any that I have had in Italy . There was great balance to the flavours and the portion sizes were enough to leave you wondering whether you really needed dessert . The red wine that we had was superb and had the bonus of being in a good size glass . I highly recommend trying this place . It might be a bit out of the way ( there is a tram stop outside ) but it’s worth the effort .More

Combine excellent well prepared Italian food with superb service and you get a winner. The folks at this fantastic Trattoria have done just that. Try the fried beef cooked in a red wine reduction with pasta as it is great. Salmon with vodka was absolutely...delicious. The menu comes on a chalk board brought to the table so probably changes regularly. A great wine list completes the experience. Extremely well recommended.More

Living basically next door while staying regularly in Wien I’ve been to this place many many times. I’ve honestly never had any dish which has not been at least very good. Especially their starters taste most often of outright splendid. Menu, printed on chalkboard, changes...day to day due to what chef is up to, although I can see a few regular dishes being there every visit. I would highly recommend their cooking.More

I had a sausage pasta for dinner at this local 9th district establishment, which tasted pretty good but was priced at 14.50 euros if I remember correctly, which seemed a bit much given the smallish portion served. Service was fine. However, for a local, not...central Viennese establishment, all the food seemed a bit overpriced.More

I've had my share of Italian, but this place really impressed. I know service is all relative depending on where in the world you're from, but as an American, this was excellent. The owner came by to make sure everything was good which in itself...isn't necessarily uncommon, but I appreciated that he was proud and stood by his food. He is from Tuscany which is probably important for the authentic food. We had a group and I tried most of the dishes. Everything I tried was very good if not great. I was not actually all that hungry so this is an objective assessment. Sorry I don't remember all the dishes that were ordered, but it was all courses, drinks, desserts, etc. In Italian style, it took a long time to complete the meal, but I was among friends, the street is in the old center of town with low traffic, and the evening sky was beautiful. Great experience.More

My wife and I had one of the worst experiences with this restaurant. We were in the end of the year to control an extremely dangerous disease. All this time we stayed at one of the nearby hotels. The day we had the final result,...one that enjoyed us so much, we decided to have dinner at this nearby restaurant. Everything went to the superlative. After making the reservation, we arrived at the restaurant at the indicated time, and the table was well-arranged. We had the antipasto specialty, followed by Italian specialties all assorted with good wine and of course the dessert, which was really special. Eventually it would be one of the memorable days, but it was not to be ... As I tried to put my jacket on me, I accidentally touched a bottle of oil that was sitting on the edge of the bar. Of course I broke it. I apologized repeatedly, but in return we received only racist reproaches and juggling in our address. We were forced to pay for the oil.. In addition to a bill of about EUR 125, the oil cost EUR 25. We were too happy with the news I heard that day about my wife's health and accepted to pay. When the owner Jovanni heard that we wanted to pay with the credit card ... he said he is no longer 25 EUR but 35 EUR. The wounds and offenses continued on our way until we asked for a police. After that everything stopped and the owner gave us away. I do not feel very comfortable when I remember the situation. I would never recommend this restaurant for Jovanni's arrogance and poor education.More

We had an amazing meal at this restaurant, we were very fortunate to being staying very close by, but it is easily accessible by tram from the city centre and well worth a tram ride to dine at Dal Toscano. The quality of the food,...preparation and presentation was truly excellent. We were a party of 5 and all meals were delicious. The wine list was also very good. The waiting staff were very friendly and helpful. One of the best dining experiences I have had even after a recent trip to Italy. Highly recommended!!More

Came for dinner with a girlfriend. We were sitting outside which is a small terrace in the side street. Not very romantic but hardly any traffic and it was much better than sitting inside - it seemed to be quite stuffy there. The service seemed...to be trying hard but was a bit confused. They kept forgetting things. We had starters burrata with prossuto and carpaccio with freshly fried mushrooms. Both were big portions and it was very nice. As main we had each plate of bbq calamari with salad. Calamari was very nice though just on the colder side when it reached our table. The salad was very very basic. They could improve there. One dessert. We shared bottle of wine and had Campari soda at the beginning. Total bill just over 100 eur which I thought was ok, as bonus, we booked via delinski which get you 30% off the entire bill. So at the end great value. I would come back again.More

A charming trattoria at the 8° - 9° district border at which even the local Viennese come in speaking Italian. A good selection of piatti di terra o mare, wine and fresh fish. Serves Bistecca alla Fiorentina. A fun time was had by all.

We came across this little Italian gem by chance as we stayed in a airbnb flat next door. The fact that it was SMOKE FREE meant we were gonna eat there anyway, but the surprise was when the menu was explained to us by the...chef with a huge blackboard. He explained it well in English for us. All Italian dishes with fresh ingredients, some meat or fish is shown to you if you wish. we went for the Seabass for 2 with roast Italian potatoes and vegetables. We were delighted and were happy to wait the time it took, as we were warned it'd take 35 min.. The baked potatoes were divine, the fish (half each) was smaller than we expected as before it was buried under salt crust, but it tasted so fresh and perfectly cooked that who cares. I even asked her to show me the carcass and she did. Dessert was pear & chocolate tart, and tiramisu, both excellent. We found it to be our best meal in Vienna at the end of 3 days so not sure why some reviews are bad.More

Didn't like the board instead of traditional menu at all. The waiter explains what is written on the board speaking simultaneously german, italian and english. Difficult to get into details, but seems spectacular. We chose bone steak 1 for 2 with fresh salad and potato...(the portion was evidently for 1) and buffalo mozarella for starter (1 for 2 as well). Plus bottle of wine (22 euro). Total amount was 120 euro. Yesterday had our dinner in Plachuta - it was also not cheap (150 euro with desserts and apperetives), but it was worth it! The service is just of a different level. Finally - interesting, good for 8 district livers, tasty, but the prices should be lower.More
