what a lovely place :) we found it as it was right next to our bus stop and we went in hoping to find something nice to eat, which we did. the mexican family running the bar was just lovely and some of us could speak spanish with them, which made the stay feel more like ‘at home’. we ordered a small platter of tzatziki, hummus, olives and pita bread, which i found to be somewhat scarce but i think it’s because it’s for sharing with just one other person, and not the 5 we were there haha. anyway, i cannot recommend enough the cypriot burger with halloumi. the meat was just amazing and tasted somewhat like sheftalia, and it was overall delicious. each plate goes with salad and fries, so for just 8€ you can eat there and get incredibly full! for dessert, i fulfilled my frappé cravings and was satisfied, but i found it to be kind of watery, but that does not matter when you’re under the scorching sun in cyprus. ps. the decorations of the place are beautiful and turn this little place full of locals into the cutest little place to grab a bite in paphos!

Sykaminia in Paphos is a wonderful family run Cafe. Lovely and authentic, we discovered it during our first visit to the Old Town of Paphos. We were welcomed warmly by Norma the owner. Originally from Mexico, Norma runs the cafe with her family adding a mix of Mexican and Cypriot hospitality which makes you feel special. You can relax with a coffee or cocktail and a snack. Nice to sit under the romantic sycamine tree, which lends its name to the cafe. We return to Sykaminia every year.

We visited as 4 adults and had a wonderful holiday lunch. The setting is great, with colourful tables overlooking the bustling old town and the service was brilliant - it was clear they really cared about the food and experience. The food was extremely tasty - we had a mix of different sandwiches & burgers between us and all were great. We even had Mexican fries as a special. A gem hidden within all the tourist restaurants!

I had a late-morning snack at this cafe with my family. It has a friendly, laid-back vibe. The server spoke very good English and she encouraged us to try the typical Cypriot sweet by explaining how it is made. She also broughts some toys for our child. I would gladly return!

A must for a trip round Old Paphos! It's not a "sycamore" but a mulberry tree 100 years old! Small and quirky with numerous interesting artefacts, historic items and "thoughts". Norma runs this Cypriot-Mexican place which somehow manages a fairly wide range of dishes. We shared a halloumi and bacon pita which was served with just the right amount of salad, and accompanied by excellent. cheap white carafe wine. The atmosphere is cosmopolitan and yet uncompromisingly local! There is a platform opposite with a view over Kato Paphos to the sea. Unfortunately it is somewhat obscured by a branch of a major coffee-shop chain.

I was traveling alone for the first time (sadly my partner Jackie had passed away in 2019) my hotel was very close to the Sykaminia so I gave it a try. It was the best decision I made that holiday, the ambience was amazing, the food was fresh and delicious (cooked with love), Norma and her staff were so friendly and welcoming that I visited every day it was open. I would recommend the Sykaminia to anyone visiting Paphos. I will be returning to Paphos in early October and hope to visit regularly.

Located at the heart of the old town, this lovely café serves super fresh and tasty food: local, burgers, veg options. You can sit under the oldest tree in town and enjoy a coffee or a local beer. The ambience is very chill, and on nights when they have events you will have a really fun time! Norma and Georgia will make you feel at home <3

We've been eyeing up this tremendous little cafe for quite sometime now, driving past and both commenting on how appealing it looks and I'm glad to say we most certainly were not disappointed. The menu is compact, quesadillas, pittas, wraps, baked potatoes, salads and more. We opted for a bacon quesadillas, husband, and a falafel pitta, me, with a side order of chips. Oh Nommity! The portion of chips were huge and so crispy (I hate to admit we ate the lot), the quesadilla, I'm told, was delicious and my falafel pitta was amazing. I travel with work a lot and these were by far the best falafel I've tasted. Soft and delicious with scrumptious homemade tatziki in fresh pitta. The outside eating area is qwerky and thoughtfully presented. The bathrooms were immaculate with great art work. Finally the staff... Wonderful. There is an obvious passion behind this establishment, great produce freshly sourced and care for the customer. We visit Cyprus often and Sykaminia will now become a regular lunch spot for us. Highly recommend a visit, you won't regret it.

Stopped off here for some lunch with the family after visiting Old Town Paphos. The friendly staff were quick to welcome us, and ply the children with toys to keep them occupied. Food was reasonably priced and very tasty, and portion sizes were generous. Greta food in a beautiful, unique setting.

This place is a hidden gem, although not so hidden! This cafe is located opposite cafe Nero near the viewing area in Pafos Old Town. It’s on the way into the town and market area and would be easy to walk straight past. I would thoroughly recommend anyone to go in for a drink and some food. The setting is traditional and quirky. It’s family run with friendly, helpful and attentive staff. The menu is varied, with large portion of Cypriot food with a mexican twist. The do a good selection of breakfast, lunch and brunch to suit all. We had the pitta breads with falafel, tzatziki with salad, with a side order of Halloumi. It was literally the best meal I had all week. Such great flavours and so fresh. It was an absolute delight. We also ordered a couple of beers which were served in freezing cold glasses. The perfect lunch and a great price !!

Perfect spot for a light lunch and some delightful drinks. We had a Mexican quesadilla and a Mediterranean quesadilla with some sangria and a frozen strawberry daiquiri (choice of vodka, rum or tequila) . The place has a vibrant but relaxing energy and the service was great. The place is decorated by a woman from Ireland who came as a visitor one day and stayed meaning the place has a true loved feel. Would recommend as a stop if you’re going to Municipal Market.

Have been looking for a traditional Cypriot Coffee shop since the new mayor decided to clos down our favourite coffee shop. Read some reviews on Trip Advisor before we returned to Paphos and decided to give Sykaminia a try. We were not disappointed, my wife can only drink one shot lattes and the owner made her a coffee that was just right no moaning no histrionics she produced the coffee without any problems. This is just the right coffee shop to sit, drink and let the world go by. Needless to say we went back a few times during our stay and will be going back when we are in Paphos next year.

A very special place to eat, drink beneath an ancient tree. Made even more special from the love and friendship of the owner and family. We have been visiting our family favourite Cafe since 2019 every time we are reminded of how special it is ❤️

Stopped at Sykaminia at the end of our tour of the old town and so glad we did...this was one of the highlights of our entire stay in Paphos. We love places that are unique and have a bit of personality and Sykaminia definitely ticks this box. Add on top of it a wonderfully friendly owner, the most delicious halloumi and bacon pitta, a wall where you can add your own testimonial/quote and homemade souvenirs and it's pretty much perfect.
