The PERFECT place for authentic Cypriot food at an amazing price with real customer service. A lot of places here have high costs, Instagram focused restaurants but this is the real deal. I encourage anyone who wants an authentic experience to go and try this....The staff are so friendly, the food is so good and the portions are enormous. Cannot recommend enough!More

Excellent food Excellent atmosphere Christoph still there and taken over from his dad. Came here 10 years ago following recommendation from a waitress(Maria) we became friendly with. Food bloody lovely then and just as good now. If you want authentic Greek food come here 🤤

We’ve just returned from a week in Paphos and this place was so good that we ended up eating here 4 out of 7 nights. The food is delicious. We tried the Meze on the first night to sample everything. My particular favourites were the...halloumi and Cypriot sausages, which was only on the stater menu but they created as a main for me. It is such good value too compared to most other restaurants in the area. The service is great especially from the owner who is very friendly. On our first night my daughter was wearing a dress with a watermelon pattern and so he brought out a plate of watermelon on the house at the end of the meal. Such a lovely touch. If you’re staying in the area I would definitely recommend that you visit here.More

We could not fault our experience with our first visit to the Lichnari Tavern. We were made very welcome, and the service was friendly and very efficient. The venue itself is very much like a traditional family run taverna, well set up with subtle decor,...plants and flowers with Greek folk music softly playing in the background Before writing this I looked at some of the previous reviews that highlighted not only the quality of the dishes available, but also how substantial the meals are. Spot on in every department, I love Cypriot pork chops and the one presented to me last night was the biggest I have ever seen, full of flavour and an absolute gem, with a feta, tomatoe and olive salad. To top it all, on completion of the main meal we were served with cake and ice cream, a brilliant touch. I have been coming to Cyprus since 1987, so I have lots of experience of Cypriot food. The Lichnari Tavern is perfect if your taste is for well prepared traditional food and friendly service.More

Excellent restaurant not too far from Amphora where we stayed. Very good choice of authentic food, all very tasty. Our son loved the gyros. Owner recognised us from a previous occasion and we were made to feel most welcome. Service was excellent, village wine in...carafe very tasty. We had lots of bits from the mezze menu which we loved. Highly recommended.More

The best tavern in Paphos. Excellent meze. Everyone is very kind and the food is delicious. Comparing to other taverns this one was the most authentic.

Lichnari quickly became our favourite ‘go to’ during our month in Paphos and especially handy as we were just across the road. Lovely roaring log fire (great in February!), friendly staff and fantastic food. Loved making our own meze, choosing our favourites and as little...or as much as desired. Can’t leave a review without mentioning the fresh fried potatoes (chips) … long time since I’ve tasted any as good as these and worth going for those alone - crisp, dry and just delicious. Lovely complimentary dessert and very reasonable prices. A bit off the main area but well worth the walk (or the 611 bus stops near enough outside on Danaes Ave just past the University). Would 💯% recommend, go see for yourself!More

The food here is first class. We had houmous and grilled halloumi with pitta bread for starters and chicken slouvaki for mains. Portions were huge. Local ingredients cooked on charcoal really tasty. Staff could not be more friendly and helpful.

We came back to this restaurant twice during our stay and I would have kept coming back if it wasn’t for our vacation ending. The portions are massive, the food is delicious, and the service is super friendly and nice. I can’t recommend the sheftalia...enough, the mixed grill is amazing, and if you want to make your own meze you can’t go wrong whatever you pick! Oh, and the Lichnari Special cocktail is perfect!More
