The tea selection was surprisingly good and a vegan sandwich as well as a gluten-free option were available. We had a breakfast sandwich for lunch (egg, bacon and cheese) and a chicken panini. The coffee was a lovely medium, smooth roast; a perfect perk-me-up after...More

My family and I stopped into Kaffitar for quick coffees and croissants before the start of one of our days in Reykjavik - the coffees and snacks were both tasty. Definitely would recommend as a start to your day in Reykjavik!

Not very diet friendly but visiting in December we went here twice for the hot chocolate that you have to have when on holiday! We had a huge slab of chocolate cake - lush! And big enough to share

I've gone here twice for cappuccino and they were really good. They are a bit pricey, but on par with Paris or Geneva only much better tasting (in my opinion). The service is slow. The place was quite full the first time i went and...More

Popped in for a latte and cookie while killing some time. Very friendly staff and comfy seating. Nice and quiet for reading too. A range of non-dairy milks available.

Woke up craving some avocado toast & was delighted to see that Kaffitar has something similar on their menu--the vegan sandwich. This was multi-grain oat bread with avocado basic spread & tomatoes. I had it grilled & it was JUST what I was looking for!...More

My favorite coffee shop in Reykjavik. The coffee's good and the cakes are really nice too. Usually filled with students on their laptops, but also perfect for tourists and shoppers who want a quick snack before carrying on. There's also free wifi. It's really relaxed...More

Kaffitár is an Icelandic roasterie, specializing in importing, roasting and serving the finest Arabica coffee beans. Apart from the roasterie, the company owns seven coffee stores-espresso bars or cafés. They are located at our roastery in Reykjanesbaer, in Kringlan shopping mall, in Smáralind shopping mall, down town on Bankastraeti, in the Culture house at Hverfisgata, in the National museum and at Höfdatorg. We buy 75% of our coffee directly from the farmers, this we call "from farmer to cup" which means that our buyer, has visited the farm and selected the coffee. Lots of our direct coffee comes from Ricardo Rosales at Jesus Maria in Nicaragua. El Injerto in Gvatemala and Daterra in Brazil are also farms which we buy a lot from. Our experience is that we get better coffees and more consistent quality. Kaffitár also runs it's own Artisan bakery, Kruderí witch specializes in sourdough bread and delicious pastry.
