Pleasant pizza dinner

This restaurant is cooperating with Scandic Paasi Hotel. Although this cooperation seemed to be a little bit unknown to the hotel reception and also to our waitress, we finally could use my partner's 15 euro Scandic restaurant voucher here. We also got the Scandic Friends 10% discount on the food (on weekends). The service was very friendly and the pizzas were tasty. On the way back to the hotel, the locked doors to the hotel were opened and we didn't have to go outside through the rain. I would suggest making this cooperation clearer and also the doors being open, especially during bad weather. I am sure the restaurant would get more guests from the hotel.

Cosy traditional restaurant

I popped in here alone for a quick dinner whilst staying in Helsinki overnight. It was busy, but the staff found me a place in between other reservations. The food was very good - I particularly liked the salmon soup, and I also had the meatballs which was a large portion and very tasty! All washed down with some local beer. Very friendly and helpful staff too, I was made to feel at home. I'd definitely come back here when next in Helsinki.

Buffet in the Art Nouveau building

Price-performance winner of our Helsinki lunch buffet experiences. Down-to-earth cuisine from crisp salad to typical pea soup with inlays, Finnish breads, roast m. Sauce, potatoes, lentil curry m. Rice to the usual coffee, here with pancakes with strawberry compote and real (!) Cream. Fresh pineapple, melon, water even with some carbonation to tap. Toilets generously laid out and clean. Best payment option with Amex credit card, not just debit cards. Even if you only want to drink an affordable local beer, you should do it here, because the restaurant walls exude good flair. As a tourist you have to come here in any case to explore the whole imposing Art Nouveau (congress) building. Should be in every Helsinki guide.

Great music but pizza was below average

Live music night which was great, but the sea food pizza wasn’t this day standard. Too much filling so it was too mixed up. And service was also poor. I order one non-alcoholic beer and I got alcoholic beer instead, and pay extra for slicing the pizza.

The place was very quaint and large. You can easily find a place inside, we booked an hour in advance to be safe (for 8pm). The place has a lake in front where you can spend time before or after, we then came by bike so we also found a place to leave them without problems. We also went with a dog and they provided us with a bowl of water. The staff was helpful and very kind. We ordered two salmon soups, which is a typical dish here (which cost €13.50 each) and then we took a roasted arctic char (which would be a kind of grilled salmon, with a small potato pizza and sauce with mushrooms and peppers. Rib steak €28.50). It was all very good and tasty. Normal portions

Bad restaurant

We decided to combine business dinner and listening to music and it's great that such a possibility exists. However, the restaurant is quite run down and the atmosphere has a strong whiff of the rudeness and bad service of the past. We enjoyed ourselves thanks to the good band, but the restaurant does not deserve praise or praise. Poor performance.

A complete game menu

The menu for the game weeks was absolutely perfect: - mushroom soup as a starter, with a mild taste of tatties and a sufficiently thick texture - roast duck with cognac sauce, tasty and sufficient portion, not too many spices - dessert creme brulee and sorbet completed the great whole

Small and missing taste

The dishes were quite small and had very little taste. We ate fish with sitrus risotto and game with puree. The puree especially was very tasteless… The size of the portions was also small compared to the prizes.

Fun little place with some "history"

We went here for dinner as a group and we ended up sitting at the "Revolution" Table. Named so due to the possibility that various Russian Revolutionaries back in 1917 may have sat and schemed at the restaurant. Who knows? We all ordered pizzas for our group and they were pretty good. I had one with a spicy salmi and it was really good but the veggie one we ordered was a bit heavy on the mushrooms so it didn't go over quite as well as expected. They had one on the menu called Americano which was ham and pinneapple. Sorry, but that should be called the Canadiano. It is a Canuck invention and Americans to this day argue that pineapple should not be on a pizza. Beers were good but they couldn't seem to nail down a good dry martini. Prices were pretty much standard. Overall, pretty fun spot.

Great live music!

Like many other places in Helsinki don't expect this pub to be the cheapest, but quality of food and drinks is great, and they often have m live music. Definitely worth checking out when gigs are on. (Like the country one every monday!)

The worst blini I've ever tasted.

A lukewarm and watery blini never appeals and that's excatly what I got. If this had been my first time, I wouldn't taste again. I recommend other restaurants if you want to enjoy blini.
