Idyllic beachside dining

An absolute gem! We found ourselves on this beach around lunch time and stopped by for some food and drinks. The staff were incredibly friendly, the food was great and prices very reasonable. Lots of other couples sat on the sun beds and we could see staff regularly checking in on them. To top it off we were lucky enough to see dolphins breaching just off the beach. Would happily visit again!

A 10 min walk from our hotel along the prom is this little gem. Set on the beach, as most bars are, it's a great place to spend the day, or just a few hours. The beach is small but sandy and is just a few paces away. We had been a couple of times previously and just sat in the beach wall popping in for the odd beer between swims but this time got a table. Once sat, and a large beer (€4.50) and a bowl of chunky chips (€3.50) consumed we went for a dip, leaving our stuff at the table. My lass thought we would get 'moved on' as we were taking up a table but this was not the case. They were more than happy to let you chill. In the end we spent most of the day there, popping in and out of the sea. The staff were all really friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The beers came with the obligatory crisps and nuts too. However, due to my lasses imminent death from peanuts, they took them away and every time our beers came they brought her a small plate with fresh feta, tomatos, cucumber and olives. We had a fantastic day there. Couldn't have been better

Love this place beautiful location on the beach . We stayed in the Thalassa building but all 3 buildings , Theros, Thalassa and Thalassa Cape share the restaurant for Breakfast , lunch ,snacks & dinner . Stunning place to have all 3 meals ( if you could fit them in ) 😂 and also don’t forget those drinks and cocktails . The resident DJ Jacob plays some great music from 12 to 3 in the afternoon then from 7 till late , I always have my ear pods but didn’t need them all week very chilled out tracks ( for all music fans ) loved it . This was our second time here and we are going back in September . Great staff , great location , great food what’s not to like . Just try it you won’t be disappointed ☀️☀️

Unpleasant evening, quality isn't everything

We booked at 10pm and they made us sit at a table in the direction of two fans (the wind made the tablecloths lift). We ask to move, as there are more free tables that evening, but nothing. One fan is turned off and after a while we are forced to ask to turn off the other one too. And so far nothing special. (The fans only hit our table). Small premise: When I call in the afternoon to book, I specifically ask if there was a need to also book the moussakas, as it has happened several times that the restaurants only have a limited number. "No, there's no need to book, the moussaka is available." First of all, when ordering, I ask if it's there, and I manage to win it by ordering moussaka and appetizer to share. The appetizer arrives. Good. They come to take dirty dishes and don't bring us cutlery or clean plates. Time passes. Nothing. We wait at least 20 minutes if not more. By pure chance a waitress approaches and we point out that we are waiting for the moussaka. She looks at us strangely, points it out to her colleagues and another waitress comes back asking "but are you sure you ordered the moussaka? Because we don't think so and now it's gone" (It's already 11.30pm) Defeated, we order something else, a type of Cretan fish risotto, I must say good, while the stuffed aubergine was inedible. I can understand that there was a miscommunication with the waiter, ok, let's give the benefit of the doubt. But then if I get up to go to the bathroom and see two beautiful steaming moussakas freshly baked two tables away from mine, I feel a little dizzy... Moral of the story, they turn the fan back on and my girlfriend and I are forced to walk around the table looking for a corner where the wind wouldn't reach. Because believe me, a strong wind behind your head for two hours will give you a migraine! After the aubergine we ask for some bread, which we are denied because the kitchen is now closed and all that remains is to ask for the bill. They give us a 20% discount as an apology, but I would have preferred not to see those moussakas on the other table. The only positive note was the starter and rice, but we would have done without the rest. Despite the quality, I would not happily go back.

Nightmare dinner

We had dinner with a group of friends. To say that the dinner was terrible is an understatement. Frozen and thawed dishes served cold, filled with butter. Not suitable for those who are lactose intolerant as they have nothing. Furthermore, the meat or fish offered is all frozen or pre-cooked. The waiters in the room were friendly but still not to be returned or not to be taken into consideration. Very nice location but not worth it. Very disappointing as a Puglian, we recommend the chef an updated cooking course. I would also add that as an apology the waiters offered us dessert and gave us a 10% discount but in any case it was not useful, since we paid a lot and the quality of the food was poor and non-existent.

Visited this restaurant last year it was amazing food and service 100% Last night we were very disappointed The seabass and cod was fresh but the other ingredients were wery bland and poorly presented. Mine just looked and tasted like a tin of tomatoes had been poured over the fish. When we asked to speak to the manager we were sent a young waiter The others including the owner ignored us completely. The poor young waiter was appogetic but it wasn't up to him to deal with our complaint He also informed us the cheifs have been reduced by half and have been instructed to serve smaller portions! At a bill of nearly 80 euro for 2 main courses with wine was expensive for the quality of the food we received We will not return Such a shame as it was an excellent restaurant last year. We wish you well

We visited here last night and reading the reviews vastly underwhelmed. Beautiful setting, nicely appointed restaurant, staff were okay. Not particularly attentive. The food was style over substance. Our meat and cheese platter was 90% cheese of only two different type. No bread and two seasame sticks. A deconstructed Mousakka. Basically an aubergine chargrilled to death with a little meat and a tasteless béchamel sauce. Cod with saganaki sauce was ok. But it wasn’t cod it was sea bass!!. With potato crisps? I didn’t bother saying anything as by the time it had been changed my wife’s meal would have been cold, and sea bass is ok. Chocolate desert was ok base was really thick and heavy. Wine was good though. €97 a bit on the steep side for what we had.

We met at the Thallasa Cape hotel, which has Achinos as its restaurant Our experience was very bad. If you exclude the starters and a country salad which was tolerable not for the level of such a restaurant) the mains were all carpets Mussels and shrimps frozen raw with the sand and the intestines badly cooked and when an observation was made on our part the answer was that we cook them as they come so they were impossible to eat. But the biggest disgust was the chicken fillet I got for my little son which when the little one came he asked where the chicken was something like mashed chicken that they shaped like sausages and heated in the microwave UNACCEPTABLE The same unacceptable situation at breakfast, since it was served in the same restaurant with raw materials, mostly frozen and poorly cooked His coffee was very good luckily The kindness, willingness and good mood of the staff could not balance so many mistakes in the food

So the positives. Lovely location, super decor, warm welcome and table facing the sea. Nice waitress, took order fairly quickly. Starter, Greek biscuits and cheese, very strange! Looked like 2 small shortbread biscuits in a large round bowl. Consistency of the biscuits tasted like sawdust and stuck to the back of your throat. Impossible to eat with the knife and fork provided. I then had the cod with mussels, delicious I would say but tiny portion. Could have done with a little bowl of new potatoes. You got a bowl of crisps instead 🧐. Husband had the beef patty with crisps. Also small portion, but tasty. Husband did think if was a bit undercooked, and woke to sit on the toilet quite a while next morning. Tried to order another drink, was forgotten and we had to ask again. Due to still feeling hungry thought we ask for a dessert. Were plenty of waiting staff, running around. Nobody asked us how our meal was, would we like another drink or see the dessert menu. We gave up, asked for the bill and left to find something more to eat. Sad!!! Lots of potential here, but lacking restaurant management.

Lovely dinner

We were staying at Thalassa Theros hotel and wanted the simplicity of eating at the hotel the day we arrived. We were delighted with the food, it was fresh, tasty, reasonably priced and generous portions. A couple of times we stopped by the bar for a drink on our way home and each time were greeted by welcoming and friendly waiting staff who took the time to talk to the diners / guests. One particular waitress took interest in guests map books and pointed out her favourite trails / beaches / yoga spots / places to visit which I really appreciated - local knowledge is often better than anything you read about! Thank you.

Small amount of food

The restaurant itself was great and the food was delicious... we were just a bit surprised by the amount of food. We ordered tortellini for the main dish and there were only 8 pastas on each plate... it costed 22-23 euros. We left the restaurant hungry and even though it was very tasty, we wish we'd known that the dishes were so small. It's too bad.

Romantic dinner by the sea

Trendy place by the sea on a beautiful beach on the island of Skiathos. The atmosphere is refined and elegant but not snobbish. The staff is young and very attentive to customers. Among the appetizers, the octopus with broad bean puree and the courgette cips are worth mentioning: a mountain of excellent fried courgettes. The moussaka did not live up to expectations because it was not very tasty. The excellent taramosalada sauce served with warm bread made by them and island olive oil. The portions were very generous. The strawberry liqueur served at the end of the dinner was offered by the restaurant and was fantastic.

Fantastic beach bar and restaurant

We found Achinos on our first day on Skiathos and ended up going every day! It’s a stunning restaurant / bar set on the beach at Megali Amos with amazing food, drinks and service. The sunbeds can be hired for €15 a day which gives you two (luxury) sunbeds, parasol and a bottle of water. We ate off the snack menu and found all the food to be very good, our favourite was the club sandwich. There’s an extensive wine list with a fantastic blush as a house wine. We also tried the buffet breakfast one day (connected to the hotel) and this was also great and fantastic value. The service throughout was excellent but a special mention must go to Victoria. She was so friendly and polite, remembers your preferences each day and made our holiday. She is a real gem. Thank you to all, we will be back and most likely in the hotel too!

Amazing in every way

We ate here and the view was amazing, the menu was interesting , the staff really attentive and we had one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten and can’t wait to come again. Had the homemade bread with olive paste, cauliflower and aubergine starter and the sea bass main absolutely delicious couldn’t fault it. So delicious.

Staying at the Thalassa hotel we repeatedly had lunch and dinner at Achinos which has become our favorite place in Skiathos. Last year we preferred Bourtzi but this is even better. Great food and super friendly staff
