Exceptional - quality food and service against a Mediterranean backdrop. Deservedly rated one of best restaurants in Kefalonia. It's changed a bit since we first knew it as a cheap and cheerful snack bar a few years ago.Alati

First restaurant we visited when we arrived locally. Been coming here for 5 years, so get the ‘hype’. Don’t get me wrong, the food is very nice indeed and well cooked. However, something was missing. Menu was ok, but no more than that - it...didn’t have lots of things we would have eaten, which was surprising. And the menu wasn’t as extensive as it used to be, although there were some nice specials. I had the pork steaks, which turned up with some chips. Would have thought some salad too, with dressing? This is one example of where things weren’t quite how we remembered them. We just felt a little deflated when we left, which is a real shame. Just hope it isn’t relying too much on the amazing sunset views.More

We can see why this is #1 in Kefalonia. Such a brilliant little spot. We travelled from Skala (other side of the island) and we were not disappointed. The food was absolutely superb! We enjoyed everything we had and it was super delicious. The service...was fantastic. Brilliant touch that the owner was serving and he was so friendly and hospitable. The waiters were also very friendly and helpful. We happened to go on the owners birthday and at the end of our meal we were given a cake on the house! Absolutely overwhelming experience! The views of the ocean was also stunning at sunset! I would certainly recommend this place for your visit to Kefalonia. I would suggest booking in advance as it was quite busy when we went (we had a booking)More

We first found this spot because we sought out the beach to collect local sea salt. When we realized there was a taverna above the beach, we stopped for drinks and snacks on our way out. The service was so lovely we decided to return...for dinner the following evening. We are a group of 5 - two couples and one adult child. We had no reservations but they gracefully accommodated us and found us a table immediately. (I definitely recommend reservations- we were lucky). Location is stunning for sunset though you will have to walk out a bit if you want pictures or a direct view of the sun going down. Patio is small and quaint overlooking the rocks leading to the beach. Hummus is amazing, and - as simple as it sounds - the French fries are the best on the island that we found. We ordered an array of food from cocktails to pasta to steak to fish (filleted at table side) and all was fantastic. 5 star feel combined with family feel. A highlight for sure.More

By far the finest restaurant in the area run by owner Makis who is extremely passionate about his place which was originally run by his mother. You go to Alati for the outstanding food and glorious views, especially at sunset. The staff are extremely polite,...knowledgeable and attentive without being, “in your face.” We took a taxi from Fiskardo arranged by the restaurant (20€ each way). Makis also sorted out the return journey. Don’t be put off by the short menu shown online as Alati has an excellent choice dishes and cocktails.More

Saw this restaurant a few years ago on YouTube Tide knot travellers vlog & had to give it a try. Simply wonderful, location is beautiful albeit a twisty turny drive but boy was it worth it! We only went for lunch but all dishes were...outstanding! Best homemade hummus ever tasted! & Best Greek salad. My wife had pork steak & said best ever! I had little pizza with Anchovies which when served I didn't think much of them but boy they were flavorsome. We'll probably take the drive & go back for another meal on our last day. Keep up the great workMore

We’ve been travelling to various Greek Islands for over 40 years and I would rank the meal and service here in my top 3. Superb food, service and setting. The staff are delightful as is the owner manager. We had mussels saganaki, Greek salad and...the tuna which seems to be their signature along with house red wine. My wife had the grilled octopus. I didn’t like it so much but she loved it. Cocktails looked great but we didn’t try them. The bill was €89, but worth every penny. You get a great sunset here although too cloudy on our visit. Strongly recommend you book as very popular. Ask for a table with a sunset view. FYI people we spoke to said the steaks were very good, certainly looked it. We were treated to a complimentary liquor and pudding at the end which was a nice touch.More

We had heard great things about this restaurant and are delighted to confirm that they are all true ! The food was amazing, beautifully presented and delicious. Exceeded all our expectations without costing a fortune. The portions were surprisingly generous and we could barely manage...to finish our meal , but we just couldn't bear to leave any! The service was excellent , the host very pleasant indeed. All this and the most beautiful location you can imagine. Our advice would be to order just one main and 2 sides for 2 people if you dont want to eat too much at lunch time.More

This was such a lucky find for us one day when my friend and I were exploring the area and beaches near our accommodation, we stayed for dinner and had the sword fish, it was the best swordfish I think I’ve ever had, you could...taste the freshness. We then went again for lunch on our final day this week, we had fried calamari, Greek salad, tzatziki and their highly recommended pitta bread…it was all delicious. The best place we’d ate at during our holiday…we would have eaten there every day if we had discovered it sooner. Not only was the food exceptional, but the views, the staff/service and the ambience were perfect! Looking forward to one day going back!More
