We visited To Kafeneion on recommendation from a friend who grew up in Athens and who used to eat here regularly. We arrived for a fairly late lunch at about 14:00 and managed to get the one unoccupied table left outside. We ordered a selection...More

Great food, ordered various appetizers to share at incredibly reasonable prices!!! Must have the fava bean split pea appetizer, the Greek salad and the dream mushrooms. The eggplant salad and chicken and mushrooms was also very good. And order the surprise red wine 1/2 liter....More

Wandering through Plaka as one does, not been here for years, and was beginning to despair of the rather uniform standard (and generally even uniform style) eating places, till I came upon 2 places around the middle of the trajectory (Acropolis Metro to Monastiraki), opposite...More

We’ve eaten traditional small Greek tapas and all was very good (and simple). The aubergine is excellent! Recommend!

Ok. This place was average for us. Location is great, the greek food is fine but you can have tastier at other places. Service is ok. People saying more either exagerate or don’t try real greek food outside of the touristic areas.

The reason why I think it’s average may be because I think I got the wrong plate. I ordered a mixed platter than was pretty average. The feta cheese and Oliver was amazing. The house red wine was horrible, by far the worse part of...More

MUST GO!!!! We use trip advisor pretty much exclusively unless we can find locals’ recommendations with no ties to other restaurants and where the locals go. Best meal in Athens. Small plates, ordered six : stuffed grapes leaves, food for drunks, sardines, meatballs In Sauce,...More

Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains
the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay
and play. Its attractive features include small
squares, some notable museums and the beautiful
Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to
stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a
pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious
traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a
