Been going here for a few years. Had ONE issue ONCE and they made it right the next visit with no issue whatsoever. I wish they'd returned to the original egg roll sauce, sweet chili and I would love it if they made water chestnuts an option on the menu, but this does not take away from the quality of the dishes. As well, their portions are very good size. Recommendations: Szechuan Beef or Chicken, Moo Goo Guy Pan, Almond Soo Guy, General Tao Chicken, Honey Garlic Spareribs, and any of their combo plates.

Best Chinese food in New Liskeard

This is the only Chinese restaurant in New Liskeard as the competition closed down during Covid. We never dine in but rather order out. We have enjoyed everything we have ordered, without exception. Although we find it quite expensive, it is very good. I especially enjoy their Singapore Vermicelli and their Moo Goo Guy Pan. I recommend this place for its American style Chinese food.

Wife and I have been there twice for lunch and found food very edible and presentable. Reataurant was clean and service excellent. It is canadian chineese food and the servings are quite generous. We will return.

One of the worse if not the worse

This restaurant calls itself a Chinese restaurant and all they serve is make believe Chinese food. Having been to many Chinese restaurants around the world including in China this does not qualify as good food. People that think this place is good have lost their taste buds. The cook does not like when food is returned because of bad quality and horrible taste even the chicken fried rice is dry with a taste of burnt the wonton soup is like dish water with the wonton being the only good part of the . Tried it twice thinking first time was a bad day well all days are bad when serving low quality food if you can call it that

A bit disappointed in quality and quantity of food. There is another Chinese Restaurant in town. Maybe try them instead

Very expensive compared to other restaurants we’ve eaten at. We ordered 2 combo plates and a side of chicken balls. Total was $60!! They tacked on a $5 delivery fee even though we were only 3km down the road. Food was mediocre. Traditional Chinese-Canadian fare. Need I say more?

Catch ‘n up with good friends

Up here in great white north you don’t go shopping. You dodge all your friends. And when you’ve blocked the aisle at the grocery store long enough you go and grab a bite. If you some how get lost and manage to find New Liskeard or ride you snowmobile up here. We enjoy the Rainbow. The food is fresh good and the restaurant is clean staff are very friendly.I highly recommend stopping in oh and the prices are right.

Excellent Food

We visited this restaurant on a quiet evening in September. Our choices included Spring Roll, Szechuan mixed vegetables, Mushroom fried rice and General Tso’s Chicken. Each dish ranked at the top of our experience with North American ‘Chinese Food’. There was no excess oil, flavours were distinct, vegetables not over-cooked and the spiciness of the hot peppers did not overpower the other flavours. The portions were generous and the price fair. The server was efficient and appropriate. We will return here on our next trip to Temiskaming Shores.

Shockingly RUDE

I sat on this review for a year – knee jerk is never good. My wife & I dine here a few times each month for the last five years. We always tip 15% We entered at lunch time, the wait staff and owner and cooks were seated at a table with brimming bowls of food. No problem they need to eat to. Eventually, the waiter came and we had the special which has a soup option at a slightly lower price. We often split a meal if not overly hungry When paying the bill the owner’s wife charged us the full price for the soup. I politely pointed it out and she got angry & said “You no eat, your wife eat”. She reached over & snatched the $ twenty dollar bill I was paying with from my hand. The amount of our tip surpassed the difference – so why?? Will never eat there again!

service is always fast and definitely recommend the food. i particularly like the spicy options. When u eat in you will always be met with a smile and they have an assortment of beer including tsingtao which is always welcome for the heat

Hot, fresh and delicious!

We order from Rainbow Restaurant regularly and we are always pleased. The food is always hot, freshly-cooked and delicious! The only issue we have is when picking it up. There is usually only one girl working and she has to manage the cash, as well as serve all the tables in the restaurant. She does her best, but there is often a wait to pick up your take-out order, because she is so busy! Staff in the back kitchen should come out and take care of the pick-ups!
