My husband and son and I went to Alis for my sons 26th birthday dinner. For was excellent, I have to est gluten free and the waitress was very kind in checking out the ingredients for certain items on the menu for me. The food was excellent, waitress was a doll!!

Driving from Nova Scotia to Albert is a long and stressfully journey anytime of year, especially in the middle of winter. Leaving North Bay early this AM, we were storm struck by what locals call a snake storm. We happened on the town of New Liskeard and taken a room due to the storm at Quality Inn as they excepted pet accommodations and were quick to point out a local Grill and Bar across the street @Ali's Grill and Bar for Dinner. With a quick settle in we called Ali's Grill and Bar, and was answered quickly by a young attentive female staff who took our precise order, Two Schnitzels with Mushroom sauce, Baked potato, and a-ray of sauteed seasoned rooted vegetables a la dent. I also asked for extra butter. Within a half hour our order was delivered across the street to our room by another well presented male staff member.
WOW! The presentation was appealing, colorful, hot and delicious with every bite. As a chef for 48 with the Canadian Military for 24 Years and having two following restaurants ourselves, in Nova Scotia and Ontario for the last 22 years. I must pass on BRAVO-ZULA to all involved. To any one travelling thru, give them a try as you will not be disappointed Phil and Darlene

The staff's customer service was outstanding especially when accommodating elderly customers and family. The food was tops in the tri-towns/Timiskaming shores area and we all went home with a little doggy bag of food. No one left hungry and everyone left completely satisfied with the excellent meals so kudos to the chefs!
For people with walkers/wheelchairs there's no button to automatically open and keep the door open so hopefully someone can help with that?
To get to restaurant, use the hotels main office entrance to enter building, the main door should be held open by someone. Also it has a little entrance ramp that is kind of low and squared off/rough to use. But once inside just turn to your immediate right to go up first ramp. Move straight ahead and second ramp is just ahead. There is a door at top of second ramp to enter restaurant and it really helps to have someone else go ahead to hold that door open because its at the very top-peak of ramp.
But (imo) the wonderful staff and great food are well worth the adventure.

My husband and I were on a road trip and had to stop overnight in New Liskeard. We don’t like eating fast food and there wasn’t much open at 8:30 pm. I briefly saw ads and reviews about this restaurant and it looked inviting as we drove by. It had a classy/casual interior. great menu choices, prices and customer service. I ordered a Greek salad which was good and my husband had the half roast bbq chicken with veggies. I wish I would have taken a photo as it was literally half a chicken! Stop in, you won’t be disappointed!

We have now eaten here many times. I have been remiss in not reviewing Ali's more recently. The restaurant is attractive. The staff are super, all of them. The host/owner (Ali) ensures everyone knows that he appreciates their business by visiting every table. Now, the food. An Italian flare where the pasta is usually cooked properly, not overcooked and mushy. The sauces, although delicious, are never overbearing or "heavy". Steaks are cooked to order. No restaurant is perfect and mistakes can happen. What delineates good from bad is how those errors are handled and at Ali's, on the rare occasion that your order is not perfect, it is handled without fuss with apologies and quickly. All dishes are presented well.

Celebrated a birthday at Ali's Restaurant this very evening. The birthday girl had 2 centimeters of a dark hair visible on top of her mashed potatoes with both ends of the hair anchored inside. The waitress was alerted. She promptly returned with a partially refreshed plate where the cook put 'new' mash potatoes and vegetables but kept the same meat. The waitress then returned a second time with the solo 'offending' hair 'exhibited' on a plate; the hair was about 7 centimeters long. The waitress explained that the cook is bald and the kitchen assistant is blonde, therefore she decided with certainty that the 'found' hair belonged to the birthday girl and walked away. We, at the table, were insulted by this declaration of hers. We then saw a dark haired guy coming and going from the kitchen, plus it is known that the mash potatoes are usually done the day before! The friendly and kind owner was alerted, chatted us up at the table and left saying he would handle the situation. We paid the bill in it's entirety and were left wondering what indeed would be done to handle it? Now I ask you, what do you think should have been done about our issue. Lastly, I want to say: everything is good at Ali's 99% of the time... just stay away from ordering the mash potatoes.

This is one of our favourite restaurants in New Liskeard. Food is always great. Lunch offers additional specials that are not on regular menu. Everything I’ve tried, I’ve loved. Regular menu is great & Pasta Night Wednesday is an excellent option.
The restaurant is so popular that you really need to make reservations for dinner now.
It’s a shame that they’re not located where there’s a great view, but that’s secondary, it is nicely decorated inside & the food is the best.

We were delightfully surprised to find this wonderful restaurant across the street from our hotel. Ali's staff were all very welcoming and professional. Our service was first rate and our meals were beautifully presented and thoroughly delicious, a delight for the senses of sight and taste!

Ali’s Grill & Bar is a fantastic restaurant with great food and excellent service. Bradley, my waiter, was absolutely wonderful—attentive, friendly, and made the experience even better.
On my first visit, I enjoyed an old-time favorite, the hot hamburger sandwich, which was delicious and perfectly prepared. I came back the next night and tried the chicken Athena, which was just as amazing.
This place is a gem, and I will definitely be returning on future visits to New Liskeard! Highly recommend!

Excellent food and service. Everything we heard about Ali’s was good so on a recent visit to New Liskeard we thought we would try it. The service from start to finish was great. The steak was excellent . Cooked the way I asked. My wife’s mussels, according to her were also good. Not too pricey. Good selection of wine

Wonderful takeout as well and the food does not lack quality when takeout is chosen! T)3 cajun salmon with mashed potatoes is really well done as is the escargot. Thank you even open during the pandemic. Thank God!

Love this restaurant. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. I usually get take out and it’s so good. The mushroom caps and chicken strips are delicious. I’ve also had the spaghetti and it’s the best I’ve had at a restaurant. Thanks for the great food and amazing service. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Ali's is one of the two best dining experiences in our area. The restaurant is well located, very modern, clean and comfortable while the staff are friendly and attentive. But the kicker, is the food! Excellent! No matter what I have ordered, it is always delicious. The attention one receives is outstanding. Even the owner,Ali, makes a point of visiting every table.

I have been traveling on business through New Liskeard for a few years now and finally decided to try this place out. Food was great and my server was very pleasant and helpful. This will definitely a restraint of choice from now on. Highly recommend!

The restaurant is attached to a motel. It is quite attractively decorated, clean as a whistle. The service was excellent and the pasta dish I had was "to die for". Everyone left happy that night. Highly recommended.
