Such a lovely, warm service. The balance between the staff is lovely, you can see how much everyone works for each other to make sure the service is flawless. The husband and wife managers are incredibly welcoming. They made my girlfriend feel like she was the only guest in the restaurant. Would definitely come again.

We had a lovely meal at Come Together last night. We were made to feel extremely welcome immediately and throughout our evening the service was fantastic and so friendly. I had a lovely Piri Piri half chicken and my boyfriend enjoyed a fantastic steak which was cooked perfectly. They do also offer a steak on the stone option which looked good. We ended up staying all evening as it was very reasonably priced and the live music was great. We definitely recommend and we will be back! X

Our first time in Funchal Madeira , stayed in hotel near this restaurant . Greeted on arrival with a nice glass of Madeira Wine delicious . A friendly greeting with our menus, table set very nicely with a surprise ..“ a sea view” only surprised because The Come Together Restaurant is not on the shore but set back a bit . The menu is excellent offering a variety of choices but not too big either . I had the Black Scabbard fish and my wife had the chicken skewers both dishes were delightful 😊 that was it we were sold !! And ate their for the next two nights and too top it all on the last night ( sat) we were treated to some live music from our hosts ... A special thanks to our waiter he obviously enjoys what he does and his passionate about his work . Well done all of you and thanks for looking after us so safely xx

We found Come Together last year and because we enjoyed our meals and the music we booked again for last Saturday. Although I booked using The Fork they said they had no record of our booking. We were told they were full but gave us a table for two in the passageway. The menus came 15 mins after sitting down and our main course (no starters) came an hour later which was unacceptable. The waitress kept telling us our food was on its way! I ordered chicken on a skewer with banana, rice and veggies but I was given pineapple instead of banana and potatoes instead of rice. As we had waited such a long time I decided against saying anything. The veggies and the potatoes were luke warm. My dessert was ice cream which I enjoyed but didn’t expect the cream piled on top. Because we had waited so long for our food I felt they had decided to keep us waiting because they didn’t have our booking. For this reason I’m not sure we will return to Come Together. I am aware of the current Covid19 situation which I’m sure is affecting restaurant owners and their business because of the uncertain future so hopefully this is a “one off” event. On a positive note the music is excellent and a good reason for going to Come Together on a weekend.

Having seen the reviews we decided to try Come Together and booked through The Fork. This gave 30% discount off the meal which was perhaps the reason why we didn't get the best quality meat. (We have been to several restaurants during our recent visit to Madeira offering the same discounts without detriment to the quality or quantity of food provided) On this occasion I was particularly disappointed with the lombo de porco which was served with a mustard sauce. I was served with 2 small thin pieces of pork which were overcooked and served with carrots which were also overcooked. The sauce however was tasty. Whilst we were welcomed into the almost empty restaurant by Eduardo with a glass of Madeira, spoke briefly to Mary ( I presumed, as she is the singer, but not on this occasion) no one came to ask if we were happy with the meal. I left hungry enough to go across the road to Pingo for some chocolate. I feel sorry in these hard times to give a poor review, but many other places are doing a lot more to attract returning customers. We shall not be returning to this one.

I am so sorry to read your comment and I am shocked that nobody asked if everything was ok as that is our normal policy as we always try and and give the best possible service to our customers. We have always had the policy that if the customer is not satisfied then they would not pay so I do apologise for that. Normally there is always 3 pieces of pork lion and I must assure you that we do not cut our quality even with the 30% duscount on the fork. We have a special menu of 16.90 that has the pork with only 2 pieces perhaps the chef made a mistake. We have been busy this week so it must have been the week before, once again thank you for your comment and just sorry that you didn't let us know I can assure you we would have never let you go out hungry-

Come Together is always our first and last place to dine on our annual visits to Madeira. The welcome from Eduardo and Mary, together with Segio, adds to the excellent quality of the food on offer. A glass of Madeira wine pre and post dining is a nice touch, as is the hotel pickup and drop off service! The reasonably priced menu is extensive enough to have a choice for everyone but we particularly like both the beef fillet and the salmon both served on a hot stone. There is a nice choice of desserts to complete the meal, together with a selection of coffees. On Saturday and Sunday evenings there is live music with Eduardo on keyboards accompanying Mary's beautiful voice. Madeira has been severely hit by the lack of tourists this year due to Covid but we sincerely hope that Come Together can ride out the pandemic and look forward to returning next year.

Arrived on Sunday evening and booked our first meal for this restaurant, we were not disappointed. Had a table with a sea view and the waiter was so nice. My husband had mussels followed by scabbard fish and I had melon and parma ham followed by a shrimp and mushroom risotto. All the food was beautifully presented and tasted lovely, this was washed down with a nice bottle of wine. The bill was very reasonable, and then to finish the owner asked us what we wanted to drink on the house. Overall a lovely dining experience at a very reasonable price. We will return when we come back to Madeira. Thank you very much.

We booked a table for two through ‘The Fork’ app, which gave us a 30% discount on the meal. We got some garlic bread to share, 2 mains and 2 drinks each as well as being given 4 small glasses of Madeira wine which was a lovely touch. The food was excellent, one of the best places we’ve eaten at on the island, and the service was just as good, very thoughtful and lovely people. Our bill only came to just under €22 so we had to leave a generous tip because for the quality of food and service we received it should have been at least double that! Would definitely go back again, and I recommend anyone else on the island to try it as well.

Great location and friendly atmosphere. The food is a visual delight as well as pleasure to eat. The owner is attentive and is liable to ply you with free drinks if he takes a shine to you. Highly recommend that you book the day before to avoid disappointment as the seating is limited and it is very popular. Prices are very reasonable and it is one of the few restaurants in the area that serves a Cataplana for one. Give it a try you won't be disappointed

We visited on a non music night, and sat inside near the bar due to the cold Jan evening. I enjoyed looking at the music equipment set up, admiring a classic Yamaha synth from the 80s . We were welcomed with a complimentary glass of Madeira wine, while we selected from the extensive menu. Garlic bread/bolo was tasty. We selected a wine recommended by the friendly waiter, who placed it in an ice bucket and kept topping us when he passed. I opted for the Octopus, which was a small one served almost whole. It was soft, almost chicken texture, and smeared in a tasty sauce. It was served with mixed vegetables and sweet potato scallops (slices). I ate it all. My wife had the espada (black scabbard) fish fillet with a whole banana in a sweet sauce. It was quite a large fillet. It was served with mixed vegetables and boiled potatoes. We didn’t have desert, and after we asked for the bill, the smart suited older gentleman, assumed to be the owner, visited our table suggesting complementary drinks we could have, Portuguese brandy in a warmed glass for me, and a passion fruit liquor for my wife. We enjoyed these, then to our surprise, 2 more glasses of Madeira wine were delivered with the bill. I’ve marked it down slightly for two reasons: - it was a little more pricey than other similar restaurants we had been in, including the wine cost; - The assumed owner, sat in the corner, kept addressing/directing his staff in a manner that made me feel uncomfortable. I guess I noticed because I was sat inside facing his corner. If I was outside, I would never have seen this. Despite this, I do recommend the place for its nice decor, and good food....and it’s a shame we were not there on a live music night.

In the menu there was a request to write a review so here we go!  Went to this restaurant only to eat desert with my better half. In this place you get complimentary madeira wine before ordering and after eating which is nice. Still, I recommend ordering older madeira wine for fuller, more richer taste.  We ordered apple strudel and crepe alaska. Apple strudel was fine but the crepe was swimming in sauce and was a letdown considering whopping 8,5 euro pricetag.  After we finished eating waiter didn't ask what we thought of the desert (I think its basic stuff for waiters to ask did we liked our foord or not!) All in all I didnt have the most welcomed feeling to be there. Bit grumpy climate in my opinion.

We made a booking for this place and arrived promptly at 7.30pm . We were led to a table then completely ignored for 25 minutes in which time we were not served the complimentary Madeira other guests were having , or asked re any drinks or anything else . After 25 minutes we left and have subsequently advised the Fork of our experience which they accept is totally unacceptable. How this place has won any awards for service or has such a healthy rating is beyond me . The place had many reservations but clearly with staff on duty unable to provide any sort of service . It seems we were not the only ones who sat there for a similar time without any attention whatsoever and hope others comment as we did . We are regulars to the island and during our frequent extended stays frequent many restaurants. We went to Come Together on a recommendation but certainly would never think about going there again . Worst experience EVER in Funchal

Great place to have a good lunch close to the city centre with an ocean view. We were served by extraordinarily kind waiter who talked to us in Polish ;) and welcomed us with an aperitif. My husband who has coeliac disease was recommended gluten-free options and felt well after the meal. We had: garlic shrimps, cesar salad and tuna steak, all good and at reasonable price also due to 30% discount applied for ordering before 6:30.

I’m feeling generous so I gave it 2 stars. Well tonight proved that you should not go on online reviews to decide where to eat. All the reviews I had read suggested this place would provide decent food, good service and a pleasant dining experience. How wrong could I be. The initial impression was not good when we walked into the restaurant, with loud Abba music playing, and the 70s feeling didn’t end there. We were given a glass of Madeira wine on arrival without being asked if we wanted it. The waiter was a bit overbearing and trying to be nice , more of this later. I ordered the house special Scabbard fish, which tbh I’ve never eaten before although I’ve seen it on sale. My beloved ordered pork with mustard sauce. I ordered a half bottle of wine which the waiter said should be allowed to breathe, god knows why as it was a cheap red which was for for glugging. When the food arrived it came with aluminum plate covers, very reminiscent of canteen food. First impressions not good;potatoes with eyes, frozen carrots, and a watery sauce and a tiny amount of fish. The food was practically tasteless and uninspiring, made worse when the waiter poured the wine into my glass up to the brim, which for me is a cardinal sin. When he returned to ask how the meal was we both said only ok. And when he asked why we told him. At this point his attitude changed and he became abrupt and rude, for example my wife said her pork was tough to which he replied “ it’s pork meat what do you expect” Fawlty Towers at its best! After complaining the manager tried to placate us with more free drinks which we declined. The only saving grace was that they didn’t charge us for the pork meal , but to charge for one meal was robbery , given the quality. My dog wouldn’t have given it a second sniff. Verdict, avoid unless you like retro food at 2022 prices.

Thank you for your short comment., and I am sorry that you enjoyed nothing. Regarding the madeira wine, which we always give most of our guests are happy to taste, others will always tell us if they do not want any. Perhaps that is why you spilled the wine on the floor! The vegetables we serve are always fresh and NOT FROZEN be sure about that. and the potatoes with eyes??? Not sure I understand we serve potatoe wedges or boiled potatoes????? Regarding the pork lion, I am wondering why when I came to your table to ask if everything was ok, you told me yes, as you almost ate everything , we would have gladly changed your plate for another if you had told me when i asked ,but we did take if off your bill. Regarding the black scabbard that you have seen on sale??? It is one of our most popular dishes but you say your dog wouldn't have given it a second sniff NO COMMENT!!!! Regarding my UKRIANIAN employee, he has been with me for 17 years and he is a very polite person, that makes everyone welcome. Sorry you didn't enjoy the music but most people do, we also had soft jazz at the beginning of the night. When you left myself and my employee bid you good night but you did not answer. We are always receptive to comments from our esteemed customers.

Delighted that Mary the co-owner could accommodate us at short notice as this venue is frequently reserved by its guests which is a good sign. Decided to choose the tourist evening 3 course menu to include Madeira wine on arrival and prior to departing. Garlic bread and choice of wine, beer with main course. Tea or coffee followed dessert-faultless. The ambiance, friendly service and outlook first class. Live music advertised Fri/Sat evenings. Will return on my next visit to this beautiful botanical island of Madeira.
