Very nice varied menu. Good beer and cocktail selection. We all had the Indonesian Sate main course. Coffee and desert were a real treat and the entire meal was beautifully presented. Looked wonderful and was all delicious. Our server was "Joyce", very professional, pleasant and...attentive.More

You travel to another place as soon as you set foot in the restaurant. Nothing matches, no tables are like the one next to it and you can see that the owners put a lot of time in decorating the place. The atmosphere is super...relaxed and greatly contributed to a nice supper. I went to eat there twice and would not hesitate to go again. The staff is really friendly, nice and the service was excellent. Everything was good, warm and tasteful. Portions are generous.More

Stopped by here on a day visit to the nearby Dutch naval museum. Chose this restaurant mainly because it was a short walk from the museum, and we liked the menu (most of the other options were serving sandwiches or middle eastern cuisine). We ordered...the Wieringerweide kogelbiefstuk (basically a steak from a nearby farming area known for the quality of their beef), opting for the fries over bread to accompany it. The steak was on the small side, but pretty good and not overcooked. The fries were ample, hot and crisp, served with mayo (like most places in Europe). Service was okay, but not exceptional - seemed like they gave preferential treatment to locals and regular over "tourists."More

This is a lovely, popular and interesting restaurant/cafe/tea room in the historic docks area. We both had excellent snacks and our tea was made how we asked (we are tea fussy and they naturally make it differently in Holland). The tea turned out to be...the best tea we have had in Holland and of a really high quality. We were served mainly by the manager and it is an understatement to say she was brilliant and impressive - one of many she was serving - but, among other things, she made sure the tea was made how we liked (have I said we are tea-fussy!) and she explained that she and the owner had been to the German wholesaler to taste and test the teas they were going to sell. The whole place had a lovely, busy vibe with people of all ages having a good time For two snacks, two teas (served with a bit of cake and a liqueur with cream (?), it was €17 which seemed good value for such a place.More

We had an official dinner planned at the LEUK restaurant with 38 delegates. THe staff and chefs were fantastic start to finish accommodating all our needs. THe food was of a very high standard and the ambient atmosphere was commented on within the group. I...would highly recommend this restaurant.More

Spent a wonderful day in this lovely town until we entered Leuk.. told to sit wherever we liked, then told to move to another table. Staff continued to bypass table until we asked if we could order drinks and have a look at a menu....2 other groups of customers, Dutch speakers arrived, we waited and they were served ,we still waited. Got drinks, staff continue to ignore table..eventually took our food order when we asked if they would take the order! The order was very simple, starters and fries..45 minutes later, we are still waiting while the two other groups were served their food and drinks. I approached one of the staff, Debby to ask if our food would be much longer, as it was taking a long time. Her reply Yes it is taking time and proceeded to walk away. I asked her to cancel the order and that I would pay for my drinks. This was not just slapdash service, this was appalling attitude towards customers. As an Irish family who travelled from Singapore to spend Our summer holidays touring The Netherlands this experience was incredibly disappointing and somewhat spoiled what was a lovely day. Unfortunately we didn’t get to sample the food on offer, so my apologies to the chef. The management/owner should most certainly speak to their staff about attitude and service, tourism is a vibrant industry, one in which I contribute to in the form of several columns in South East Asia Publications as I have been traveling and living all over the world for the past 25 years. Leuk, please help yourself and your business for the future. Yours, Sharon Swan-BroderickMore

Went to this restaurant on a Monday night when so much is closed. The menu is really interesting with exotic ingredients and vegetarian and vegan options. Service was friendly and efficient even though it was busy. The price was reasonable.

What a nice place to eat, drink and look at the interesting interior. We visited the National Rescue Museum and after that did a late lunch at Leuk. Leuk in Dutch means Nice or fun and indeed it is. The menu offers a variety of...food and drinks of a very good quality. We ate a pancake with bacon and apple (sweet and savour) and a sandwich with molten Brie and pepperoni. Inside there are a great diversity of seating and outside there is a nice terrace with a view on the canals.More

Called in here for lunch whilst we were visiting Willemsoord museums and staying on site at the camperplaats. Service was very good, giving time to make a choice from the menu, some things needing explanation/translation, and then served up in a reasonable time. Quality of...surroundings and decor inside is good but quirky, something to love or hate, we loved it. Plentiful servings of good and tasty food.More

This cafe'/restaurant has a wonderful interior and decorations, you feel like sitting in a Alice in Wonderland theme location with tea pots and colorful things everywhere! Really nice, but the service is slow, yet the food is good!
