The friendly staff help you to your table and the service great. The burgers very tasty with lovely crispy onion rings and chips. The pecan nut sundae is also very nice.

Eagle Spur not kid friendly

Disappointed by the the service of THULLY who was on duty at the kids play area on 03/08/2024 as she watched over my 3 year old being bul**** by older kids, luckily I was sitting close enough and I was able to intervene. This is not the first incident, it has happened before while she was on duty. I don’t know why she is put in that area as you can almost see the dislike for our kids on her face, she’s never greets us as customers or even show a smile to the kids. Whereas the other lady who is short is nice. She also sweeped the carpet while kids were playing and any grown up knows that dust is hazardous to kids with respiratory issues. Will definitely not be coming to Eagle Peak Spur with my child anymore.

Owner to cheap to buy generator, let's customers eat in the dark with no service

On Saturday I asked a person out for dinner as a thank you. I picked Eagle Peak Spur based on the score on TripAdvisor and previous experience with Spur in other towns. This Spur however completely let me down. First of all the served the person I invited and another guest with cold food. We send it back and minutes after we finally got warm food the lights just went out. I was completely convinced that within a couple of minutes the generator would kick in, as South Africa has load shedding for a long period now. That however did not happen. We turned on torches of our phones and eat further. After quite awhile a waitress come with boxes to take our food home. We said we would stay and got a surprised look, but we could. The staff did not bring us any light and actually started to clean up. We were not asked if we needed anything. When I paid, the waitress told me the owner of the restaurant was told many times that they needed a generator, and that customers were unhappy and not coming anymore. The owner however doesn't listen to his staff and doesn't want to spent any money, not even on candles. This owner thinks it's completely acceptable to have his customers sit in the dark and let his staff deal with all the unhappy customers.

We stopped for a quick breakfast enroute! The staff were very friendly and helpful! We were traveling with some international guests and the staff were very helpful to accommodate their dietary requirements!

It is our families most favourite spur. the food is alwys great. always service awesome and with a smile. the child minders and playroom are exceptional. I miss it so much since moving away. Don't confuse Amajuba mall spur (this one) with Newcastle mall spur (that sucks). Wish I was there now.

The service at the Newcastle Mall Spur is poor. I was waiting by the cashier desk and the staff assist someone else who came after me. I find this unacceptable.

If you need a burger and have a party of many people which need a good selection of meaty options this is a place to go to. Sizes were ok, service medium well, the food good quality and value for money.
