Spent one night in Newcastle and went to the Pint and Pigout based on reviews here. Enjoyed a most pleasant evening, with attentive service, a wide variety of beer, and excellently prepared food. I would recommend. Oh, and Covid protocols were followed and place well...set up for Social Distancing.More

A pub like restaurant with a nice atmosphere! Drinking is more prevalent than food, but that said, they make a mean eisbein!

Was in Newcastle last week and went, once again to "the Pint". I am an avid follower of Reviews on Tripadvisor and am absolutely amazed at a comment that this restaurant is racist. Nothing can be further than the truth and all staff whatever colour...or race treat visitors as one of their own and vice versa. That's not the point of this review. The service is friendly and quick, the pub grub tasty and inexpensive and the owners, Cathy & Norbert, are welcoming and friendly. If you are visiting Newcastle go there and experience the atmosphere for yourselves.More

We just wanted a simple meal and found this place. The menu is good and portions are large. We chose the steak and kidney pie which had a lot of meat in it and the veg platter which I chose a side salad which was...one of the biggest I’ve had as an accompaniment to a meal. Staff very friendly and attentive.More

Wow. Im beyond shook. I visited this restaurant because the reviews were amazing. Little did i know that the racism at the restaurant is beyond. So my husband ordered lamb chops and I went for the Rump Rossini. The meal was very nice. What was...sad was that the people(whites) who were seated close to us who had ordered food were attended to by the lady manager wearing a long sleeve blue shirt asking them how their meal was. But they didn't ask us how our meal was. Im not going back there.More

My husband and I drove from Pretoria and was on the hunt for some place different than the usual food chain branches. We arrived there half an hour before actual opening time of this restaurant, and was really hungry and up for a beer or...2. The friendly staff let us in, ordered our beers and got told we could only order lunch at 12 since that's when the kitchen actually opened. Fair enough. Happily drank our beers, ordered our food when the kitchen opened. I ordered the fish and veggies - highly recommend!! Not only do you get one small half a fish, but instead a whole fish which had been created entirely to my liking. Not fatty and full of batter, but grilled perfectly in a tasty sauce. The vibe is cosy and homely.More
