In Balances restaurant, Luzern, head chef Andy Fluri creates culinary masterpieces with great success. This master chef, who has been awarded 14 points by the prestigious Gault-Millau guide, takes his guests on a flight of fancy for the taste buds, with delicacies such: as cream of parmesan soup with basil Espuma and beef fillet steak carpaccio; braised veal cheeks in a truffle jus, served with a potato and onion mash and savoy bacon; or dumplings filled with chocolate and nuts, accompanied by apple mousse with sour cream and banana ice cream. All meals are prepared with only market fresh produce and everything is produced according to the season. Guests are welcomed with historic flair, which…
The lack of courtesy of the waiter that served us was shocking . It was a shame because the food and the atmosphere of the place was really great.More

We stayed in hotel so had breakfast twice and dinner once and we were impressed. During breakfast we felt like royals. I think this was one of the best breakfast I have ever had in a hotel and we visited many great hotels. Dinner was...also good and the service really attentive and fast. Recommended!More

Thank you so much for your fantastic review and your kind feedback! We are delighted that you fully enjoyed both breakfast and dinner at our hotel. It would be a pleasure for us to welcome you again any time soon.
Yesterday, we had lunch on the terrace. The meal was delicious. I had fish and my family had meat, everything was amazing. I had very nice non-alcoholic mixed drink with passion fruit.
Very good service.
The view is beautiful, a perfect place.

Such a lovely hotel in a superb location, even if driving there is a little tricky! The room we had was quite small but perfectly workable for a few days. The restaurant and bar are really nice with views along the river and a nice...terrace,More

Thank you very much for your excellent review! It's a pleasure for us to hear that you had a great stay at our hotel and restaurant and we hope to soon welcome you again with us.
I must admit we were a little bit disappointed. The food is good, it would be unfair to say it’s not. However, it is a bit… boring: while perfectly executed, there’s somehow no surprise in the plate, nothing that makes you think ‘wow, that’s really...good!’.
For well executed traditional food, that’s a good address; but if you want surprises in your plate, there might be other places to try in Lucerne.
Service is friendly and efficient, however there was 1h15 minutes between the moment we arrive and the moment our starters were served, which I think is too long.More

It is a very busy centrally located hotel with a restaurant on the lake/river. We were there at lunch and it was at near capacity and found the service to be painfully slow and when the food did arrive, it wasn't that special - very...average pasta/tomato/courgette lacking taste/seasoning. I can complete see why it is so busy, but wouldn't go back - am sure they are many places in the centre of Lucerne with better foodMore

I had the pleasure to book a table at the restaurant and I had been given a table on the terrace overlooking the Reuss and overlooking the Kapellbrücke.
The scenery is simply breathtaking.
The service given by the waitresses and waitress is discreet yet very...attentive.
The food is of an absolute high level and it is terrific.
I took as a starter the burrata owoth salad and everything was very fresh. As a main course I opted for the "stroganoff" fillet and the meat chunks could melt only at the touch of the tongue. They were really tender and cooked at perfection. The only cons and concern on this dish, from an Italian point of view, were the tagliatelle served with the fillet.
As a dessert, I took and opted for the rasperrry variation and was simply amazing; the ingredients and the variations were simply really good.
To end the lunch the usual espresso and was gifted with two chocolate dragées.
The culinary experience was simply first class.
I think it is strongly advised to nook a table if during spring summer and early autumn yiu wanna experience the terrace.
