New Caffè Europeo is renewed in Catania in May 2017 and is the result of the Passion and Experience of its founder Sebastiano Portale, master pastry chef who since the beginning of his activity has dedicated himself to the pastry art, also thanks to the precious help of his staff. The mastery of craftsmanship in the production of confectionery products of Excellence has been handed down from father to son and the New Caffè Europeo is an exquisitely family-oriented activity in which its founder is supported by collaborators who, like him, have unparalleled passion and experience . The New Caffè Europeo has gained prestige in the confectionery production of the City of Catania.
We visited this cafe several times during our stay in Catania as the staff were very friendly and the food and drink was quite delicious. The hot chocolate is Spanish style, thick and creamy, and we were blown away by the fixed lunch deal of...meat and cheese and accompaniments that just kept on coming!More
It was nice experience of having breakfast here, this restaurant is located beside the Main Street in Catania, from here we could have the view of the beautiful volcano! Bread is nice and warm, Adriano Porto is super friendly to us, serving us with smile...and jokes. I want to come here again!More
I've come here several times while on business travel in Catania. The service is attentive and the prices are fair, especially considering the location on via Etnea, where there are several overpriced tourist traps. The location puts it within walking distance of several vacation rentals...and hotels in downtown Catania. The cappucinos are always good, and while I don't come here for the pastries or desserts, there is a decent selection of sweets and some savory Sicilian snacks such as the mini pizzas you can find everywhere here. You can also enjoy beer, wine, or an Aperol Spritz.
The staff has limited knowledge of English, but is fluent in Spanish and of course Italian.
Overall, if you want a consistent and well priced cafe to get coffee, snacks, or drinks, this is one of the best options on via Etnea in downtown Catania.More
