I celebrated my birthday there and it was nice, beautiful place, the temperature was too low but I guess every place in Italy is always too cold in winter. The food and the presentation were fine, well cooked and tasty... I would have liked to...get a bit more from a stared restaurant. The waiters served us well but what I do not like in any stared restaurant where I go to experience the art and the skill of the chef, that at the end of the dinner the chef himself doesn't show off. I always want to congrats the chef or even be disappointed with him.More

The central venue was convenient but if driving allow extra time to find parking and the walk (approx 7-8 minutes) from the nearest Parcheggio. The restaurant was spacious and impressive and offered outside dining in warm weather. The atmosphere was “hallowed” with no warmth or...engagement from the serving staff - they all looked frightened. We ate three courses a la carte (to avoid small portions). The “amuse bouches” were tepid in flavour though the fish last one was a step up. Our first course was mazara del vallo of red prawn (on all the menus that night) which consisted of three prawns, the second was three mouthfuls of linguine and the third was delicious slices of slow temp cooked pigeon breast with one thin slice of porcini. On “paper” the description and use of ingredients was inventive and the presentation was excellent. The veil of consommé with the prawns was clever and delicate as was the monkfish liver sauce with the linguine. The pigeon dish was unbalanced as the other ingredient sweet and sour fig was lost in the stronger flavours of the pigeon meat and its stock. The size of the portions was commensurate with a tasting menu, there simply was not enough food on the plate (exception pigeon) to adequately appreciate all the work with the flavour combinations many of which were too subtle and were lost. We had to fill up with bread to assuage hunger (although neither my wife and I are big eaters). We were in the area for two weeks and were in different restaurants of different grades/prices each night. We had high expectations of this restaurant based on the revues but despite the lovely venue and the artistic presentation we felt it failed in that the flavours were sometimes too subtle and ill advised and the portions were too small. The young sommelier did his best but he was expected to both help with table service and pour everyone’s wine. The wine list was adequate rather than special. In Michelin star restaurants the chef sometimes appears (always a good sign when it happens as it shows confidence and a wish for direct engagement). We did not see him. We gave our feedback directly to the manager (Chiaramonte?) after the meal who did seem genuinely interested.More

I chose this venue after reading reviews and studying their menu online. Saying I was not disappointed is an understatement. We had four in our group celebrating my wife's 70th birthday and we all chose the Three Course Chef's Selection accompanied by a wine pairing....Simply put, all was superb. The food, the wine, the service, the ambiance.... all were magnificent and exemplified why this is a well deserved Michigan Star rated establishment. Highly, highly recommend!!More

Five star tasting menu in a lovely renovated quattrocento palace in Como. This restaurant deserves it's Michelin Star .. excellent food and service in a beautiful setting. The chef's tasting menu was superb, and lavish. The restaurant allows for ALA carte orders and has a...dazzling but affordable wine list. We felt pampered and enjoyed every bite.More

I was looking for a michelin starred restaurant close to the hotel we were staying at Lake Como and this came up.. I made a reservation (you definitely need reservations as they get booked up especially in the summer) but was a bit hesitant because...of mixed reviews. I am not sure why people were complaining about service and how slow their dinners were - it's not usual for dinners at these types of places to last 3 + hours . Ours did but it did not seem to drag on - the service was very attentive, the ambiance was beautiful and the food was really good. It was not the best food i've ever had but it was beautifully presented and pretty tasty. There was one dish that I did not like at all (nothing wrong with it but I really disliked the flavor!) - when the waiter saw that I hardly touched it he apologized and asked me which other dish they would want me to bring instead! I absolutely loved the replacement I received:) And we thought it was pretty reasonable for a michelin starred restaurant - we got a 'short' tasting menu' and with 3 or 4 glasses of wine it came up to a bit over 300 euros. If you are looking for a fine dining meal at Como check out this place!More

Last weekend we visited Lake Como, and we took the opportunity to try a michelin star menu in Como. I have been to several michelin star restaurants in the last few years, and this was the worst experience so far. The service from the waiters...was terrible... you can't hear them when they describe the dishes, zero attention to refill our wine glasses (I had to get up to get the bottle all night), they took 20 minutes to bring us the bill because they were talking in the kitchen, they brought us the drink when the second dish on the menu was already on the table, etc. As for the quality of the food... nothing to speak of. 0 flavour, 0 subtlety, 0 surprising, 0 EVERYTHING! There are dishes that I still don't know what I ate.... I hope they take away the star soon, because it's not worthy of deserving it... and on top of that, charging 160€ per person...More

Our dinner at 1* I Tigli in Theoria in the town of Como was just a 15 minute drive from the Mandarin Oriental Lago di Como property. And what a dinner it was. Highly recommended. The food was as impressively delicious and beautifully presented as...the staff was friendly and warm. Wine pairings were fantastic too.More

We Really enjoyed the pampered meal prepared for us this evening. We were not ready for such elegance and warm service. Every course our or four courses was better than the next and an adventure in taste. The textures and flavors were creative. The place...was decorated beautifully. The chef whom came highly recommended did not disappoint.More

Eight tables served last evening. We ordered the Three course tasting menu "chef choice" @ wine pairing. Dinner was served over 3 1/2 hours. At one point the only eight tables for dinner had no wine & no water on the tables. While the staff...was professional they offered little enthusiasm towards the menu or the guests. Our three course tasting consisted of A tempura Squash Flower Cream, Sheep Ricotta saffron Risotto with butter & Parmigiano gel & A tasting of the leg of lamb. The food was beautifully presented and a nice sampling "tasting" of the menus offering. We found the three and a half hours waiting on a bite was just too long. Particularly with an empty wine glass. Still wondering why a New Zealand Chardonnay was paired with a Risotto from the region.More

I Tigli in Theoria is a restaurant with one MICHELIN star. It is presented as a restaurant with high-quality cuisine, which is really worth a visit! After reading this, we had very high expectations, but unfortunately, the restaurant not only did not live up to...expectations but even disappointed with the disgusting service. We have booked a table at this restaurant. Initially, we were told that the restaurant was full, and it was impossible to book a table individually. Then we requested a reservation through the concierge of our hotel. We waited for confirmation for 2 days, after which we were told the “good” news that they could arrange a table for us. The first negative moment was that we were put in a small and extremely hot room (not air-conditioned) and, given the summer heat, it was unbearable to sit there. Then they took our order, which we waited for 2 hours, and which they brought to us at most 50%. After such a long wait, given the heat and disgusting service, we had no choice but to leave. The place was NOT WORTH A VISIT!More
