Absolutely splendid trattoria. The food, the service and the atmosphere - all superb. We had it recommended by a Genovese friend - with good reason.
The meat sauce chases like Chef Boyardee straight out of the can. Service? What service – there was no service unless you count being ignored for 30 minutes and then told to order without being offered water or bread, anything in fact. I’m quite serious...when I say the American canned food of Chef Boyardee is highly preferable to the crap that you’ll receive in this terribly ran restaurant. Do not go here under any circumstances!!More
So firstly this is a very popular place to eat. Had to come back the next night a 7.20pm to get a walk-in table. Two servings 7.30 and 9.10pm. House wine was good and well priced along with all the food which is wholesome and...big flavours. Portion sizes are large so be careful. The pesto is fabulous and the rabbit amazing. Very well oiled restaurant which keeps turning out great food at a quick pace. In the UK the bill would be double. Really enjoyed the evening.More
Came across this place quite by accident but absolute gem of a find! Hadn’t booked but the 20 minute wait for a table on a typically unglamorous Genovan backstreet was totally worth it. Locals frequent this place and we quickly understand the attraction. We shared...the anchovies which were TO DIE FOR and the gnocchi and ravioli were spot on. We left after 10pm, and still people were queuing… now there’s a good sign,More
Trattoria delle Grazie is a wonderful Italian restaurant that serves up delicious pasta dishes. I highly recommend their Gnocchi with pesto. The service is great, and the ambiance is cozy and inviting. If you're in the area, definitely check it out!
Great local cuisine at great prices. Crowded trattoria (two seatings, the second seating started around 9:30 PM at the time of our visit in 2023). A reservation is probably required, we only got a table with some luck without one. There are a small tables...around a central bar-like counter in U-shape. Heartful (almost home-made, this is meant as a compliment) food experience, the dishes with fantastic sauce (full of umami flavors) were served quickly. The open house wines (a choice of white and red, eg. a white Gavi or a red Barbera) are adequate and fit the food, there are also various standard wine bottles to choose from. You can find attached the current menu and some of our choices (Taglierini al pescato fresco followed by a Brasato al Nebbiolo). The small, simple (but again great) desserts are also recommended to top off the experience. We went for panna cotta and creme caramel (no pictures attached). This trattoria serves as a good example why "simple" Italian food is so great - and yet so hard to replicate abroad. As the menu says at the bottom: NO coffee is served (just as a warning and heads-up for first-time visitors ;-) here. PS: As I mentioned above, the place was VERY crowded and fully booked on our visit. A reservation in advance is recommended.More
The staff were friendly & helpful with food selections. The rustic setting was befitting royalty! The food was delicious & the service was good! Will definitely come back!
The food here is absolutely amazing! I had the octopus with vegetables and the tiramusu. The house wine was also really good. Was very lucky to get a table without reservation as the place was very busy but highlight of my Italy visit so far.
A busy place serving tasty local cuisine for a great price. A 3 course meal with one drink will cost you about 30 euro. Service provided by the staff was friendly and speedy despite it being busy. The menu is s bit limited but that's...not a problem as what they serve is very tasty. Recommend.More
We had the most amazing dinner experience in the whole Italy. The food portion was good size and price, and it tasted heavenly. The serving was excellent as well. 10/10 would recommend.
We had a family dinner with our son who is studying for January in Genoa. We sat at the bar which is very warm and cozy. We went all in on the pesto and it did not disappoint. Fresh basil, pine nut and home made...pasta. Sensational.More
We went to this restaurant on our last evening in Genova upon recommendation of our host Valentina. It is a very friendly and lively restaurant and the food is excellent.
I’ve been here with a friend looking for something typical. I ate Mandilli al pesto and Pansoti with salsa di noci. Just amazing. I recommend you this place. Food is amazing, the owner really nice , prices are ok.
Please come here if you are in Genoa, we sincerely mean it. We came to this restaurant based on my husband's research, for THE authentic Genovese cuisine. We were only going to be in Genoa one day, when we showed up at 1pm and the...restaurant was packed, our hearts sank. Luckily, the gentleman told us to "just come back at 2pm, we can seat you then!" Via google translate. We were indeed lucky, because they were turning parties behind us away. We got seated at the corner of the counter when we returned. We were given a menu with English, some items already crossed out (couldn't try the tripe stew!) We ordered the marinated anchovies, 2 plates of pesto pasta (the gentlemen , a local, sitting next to us says the pesto here is the very best!), and a half portion of beef stew to try. Also a half liter of house wine to share. The anchovies were a strong start. Simple dish with fish, olive oil, garlic and lemon juice. However, because the ingredients were so fresh, everything tasted great. Paired well with the house bread. Then came the pesto pasta. We tasted it before adding in the fresh parmesan. We both looked at each other with the face of "is this what heaven tastes like?". The pasta was extremely fresh, great egg flavors, and cooked al dente. It paired well with the beautifully rich pesto sauce. You can taste the fresh basil, garlic and nuts soooo well. Every inhalation gets all your senses dancing. Who would think a simple dish that only cost 9 euro can be so magical? The beef stew that followed was also a strong dish, with rich tomato flavors and superbly tender beef. It makes be glad that I do not live in Genoa, or I will gain 50lbs before the year is over. We should have had dessert, but both of us were so full that dessert would have ended in a disaster. We walked away on cloud nine and I want to take all our friends here right away. My husband and I dined at two Michelin 3 stars restaurant on this recent trip to Europe, but when people ask us "so, what is the best thing you ate this trip?" We would respond with "the pesto pasta at Trattoria delle Grazie"More
