We asked for a table for two, and the waiter had the nerve to say no to us with a table available right in front of us. He could have said it wasn’t available right now and given us some time estimate but no he...just told us no with a big smerk on his face and as we exited the restaurant he laughed it off with an Italian costumer standing in the other table. I felt really bad and got the impression they did this because they hate tourists, really felt not welcomed from the minute I got in there. Don’t recommend it to anyone ever! Stay away from this place!!!More

I try and live by the phrase “Always take the scenic route” and boy am I glad that we did! While wandering the streets of Genoa Centrale we came upon this gem. We stopped for a glass of wine and ended up having a full...on dinner. Best decision!! We began with bruschetta….which was a variety of crostini with pesto, pickled onion, and a creamy speared with pistachio….AMAZING. Dinner was a sharing of Mandilli with Pesto and Ravioli al Tocco (an ancient Genoese meat sauce). These were some of the most flavorful pastas I’ve ever had! Some may complain that there is limited English spoken here….do not let that be a factor in your decision to stop here to dine. Cristiano, the owner, is incredibly welcoming, and his staff have enough basic English to get you through…..and YES they do have an English menu (unlike stated in other reviews).More

Walking through some small alleys by Porta Soprana we saw that it had cosy eating places around here. We especially liked from its appearance the 'Antica Osteria Ravecca' and made a reservation, although the friendly person in charge told us that it were not really...necessary on a Monday in February. The restaurant with some small rooms and walls, where the plaster had been partially removed to expose the stone underneath, hat plenty of atmosphere. Everywhere were shelves with empty bottles for decoration. In the menu card we saw that some interesting specialities were available. To drink we ordered a bottle of water and a bottle of white wine from 'uvaggi autoctone Ligure', as it said. Next my wife and me went for the same 'antipasto', a 'Tartare di Fassone', thus from a Piedmontese cattle breed, known for its high quality meat. We had one with olives and capers, which we preferred to the one with caramelised onions. As a main course my wife had a 'Filetto di Maialino', thus from a suckling pig, that came with mashed potatoes and Porcini mushrooms. My choice was a 'Stoccafisso de Zena', a dried cod, prepared the Genoese way ('Zena' being the Ligurian name for Genoa), which had potatoes as the main additional ingredient. As a dessert I selected 'Canestrelli', a daisy shaped biscuit with a hole in the middle, typical for Liguria and the Piedmont. It tasted especially good with the Passito, the sweet straw wine, that was served with it. All in all a very enjoyable dinner.More

Exceptional meal, the orecchiette with seafood was sublime and so was the Spaghettino with pesto and pistacchio. My partner is Italian and is a great cook so I may be qualified to highly recommend this place. Beautiful Barbera wine by the glass. Very gentle and...attentive staff. Truly, an unforgettable meal/experience.More

I wouldn't recommend this place as a tourist. The staff speak only italian and the menu is only in italian so it's a bit difficult to comunicate because of the language barrier. We ordered a Buridda di Seppie that was very salty for our taste...and they didn't use tomatoes as I know Buridda is usually made. We also ordered the Pork fillet that came almost cold and the smashed potatoes and mushrooms side was completely cold having a jelly texture. The tiramisu was good. It seems that the restaurat lost its quality over time as we learned from other recent reviews. Keep in mind that the current menu has nothing to do with the one that you see in pictures on Google or TripAdvisor. The current one it's not that great in my honest opinion.More

We chose this restaurant due to it’s 4.6 stars review (at the moment), but after we ate there we read more reviews. It seems that the restaurant lost its quality over time, but it is best for yourself to read other reviews aswell. As a...tourist, I do not recommend this place. The staff doesn’t speak english and it was somehow hard to order. The menu was also only in italian. After we managed to order, the food came pretty quick, as it was already prepared. We ordered cuttlefish, pork meat and shrimp pasta. The cuttlefish was hot, but the other 2 dishes were kind of cold. The cuttlefish dish was too salty for my taste, as it was taken from a can. The shrimp pasta only had 5-6 small bites of shrimp, and the rest was pasta. For my taste, the shrimp also had a weird texture.More

We ate here expecting something good considering the reviews but it was the worst meal we have ever had in Italy and we have visited many Italian cities over the years. The service was poor and the food was bland at best and unpleasant at...worst also part of the meal never arrived although they tried to charge us for it. The waiter was argumentative and all in all it was an unpleasant experience. They were very condescending as though we had never been in Italy or eaten in an Italian restaurant. We shall not be returning and hopefully will be able to find a better restaurant during our stay there n Genoa .More

Really good food here in a great atmosphere with good friendly and efficient service. Plenty of local dishes, mostly based around fish and seafood. We enjoyed our evening a lot.

This main eating area of Genoa caters for locals and lots of tourists. Often it is about extracting money from visitors rather than the joy of serving people great food and giving them an experience to remember. Antica Osteria Ravecca is mainly staffed by women,...who are caring and friendly and knowledgeable. We ate at a lot of Genoa restaurants and this was by far the best. Very relaxed and easy to eat outside or their large interior spaces, and delicious and perfectly cooked seafood. Make sure to book, and you won't regret it!More

Worst food I’ve eaten my whole life. Avoid this place at all cost. Everything was horrible, from start to finish. We ate beef tartar, shrimps and tiramisu. The beef tartar was tasteless with a weird consistency, the shrimps were full of dirt and the tiramisu...didn’t have any mascarpone. I would give this place zero starts if possible.More

We had a date night here in December 2021. The restaurant had several guests but was not too busy. Service was good and felt personal. Loved the food and had several courses all presented beautifully.

The food wasn’t eatable at all - came out of the microwave. We aren’t picky people but this was just the worst food I’ve ever had in a restaurant so far. The service was also pretty rude and we’ve waited a long time to get...served. Wouldn’t recommend at all, sorry.More

My girlfriend and I booked dinner here and had a wonderful evening! The menu had a wide range of typical dishes and we truly enjoyed the homemade ravioli in pesto and the apricot cooked cuttlefish; we ordered tiramisu and millefoglie as dessert and we only...paid €49. The restaurant had an open courtyard where we had a pleasant fresh breeze. The waiters knew well recipes and wines and helped us choose what to have. One of the best places to have Italian food in Genova. If you are coming here think about booking as it is often full.More
