With a coeliac child and one with multiple allergies I had researched before we went to Rome as to where we could eat. La Soffitta was one with great reviews and I can see why. The food was delicious and they totally understood what our...More

We struggled to find somewhere for gluten free food and found out that the law was changed in 2016 resulting in only a small number of restaurants being properly equipped. This is one of them and is perfect after visiting the Vatican. The staff were...More

This is an AMAZING restaurant. As a coeliac I often feel like the inconvience but this place flips that completely. The food is unreal. The waiters are so friendly and helpful. It’s in a cute basement. Couldn’t ask for anything more! If you are GF you’ll...More

We brought our daughters to Italy and have had difficulty in spots finding resturants that accomodated our oldest's daughter's peanut allergy. Many of the restaurants while they didn't serve peanuts, served foods that contained trace amounts of peanut oil. Another restaurant recommended La Soffitta to...More

We ate both gluten free and normal pizza here. Pizza was like none I’ve ever had in the UK, it was delicious, quite a large restaurant and we managed to easily get a table one evening midweek without booking. Service was good too.

After three days of being in Rome we accidentally ended up in this restaurant because the cue to Vatican museums was too long. The atmosphere is really nice and sitting in this cute basement gives you a real Italian feeling. Wines start with acceptable prices,...More

Researched this place ahead of a trip to the Vatican. Friendly, welcoming staff. Very prompt service. Most items can be made gluten free. I ordered a pizza with mozzarella, tomato and anchovies. It arrived very quickly. The base was so fluffy, I don't know how...More

Average food - spaghetti somewhat cold and a bit too salty. A rather grumpy waiter served us. All in all a bit mediocre and given its excellent location it really should do better. Reasonable prices

Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is
the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in
a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is
a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and
wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every
shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and
gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but
that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets,

No, definitely they do not take gluten-contamination seriously. I had dinner in October, and I got so sick. The waiter didn’t listened to me when I advertising that I was not intolerant but ALLERGIC to gluten and wheat and... More

Hi Jeffrey, thanks for reaching out... Probably part of the dishes they made are dairy free. It is an excellent place to go if you like a bistro kind of 'fast food'. Have fun in Rome!
