Review of restaurant “A Fenestella” This restaurant is a charming and elegant place, located in a saeside village, called “Marechiaro” in Naples, where the wonder, discovery and the magic are the protagonists. In particular it is very suggestive for its breathtaking sea view. The food is...excellent and its quality is very great, especially fish dishes that are local products and so very fresh and tasty. The prices are quite high, but it is reasonable for the quality that you receive and the good reputation that has. Besides the service is not only quick but mostly very professional, in fact the waiters are very corteous and attentive to every detail. Highly recommended, if you are in Naples, you have to go there absolutely!More

During the city tour I wanted to hop off and look around, because the landscape was so beautiful at the end of the route. I walked down to Marechiaro because the guide said it is an idyllic fishing village. Actually, there was not much to...see in the village really. I chose one of the restaurants on the shore bank and ordered a green salad with shrimps. It was not a menu item, but there was no problem to prepare it. Both the shrimps and the salad were delicious. The service was professional and very kind. The view over the Bay of Naples is beautiful. You can see Capri, the Sorrento peninsula and Vesuvius.More

Another excellent restaurant in Marechiaro. The most romantic destination in Naples. We had a wonderful meal.

They have a nice view but the stuff wasn't really professional. The place was half full but one of them kept rushing... The owner on the other hand was very nice when I went to pay. Food was ok but over priced... we got also...charged 15% service charge (on top of the fix coperto that we do in Italy) probably because they thought I wasn't italian or local anyway (my gf is British so I spoke english)More

Dear "a' Fenestella", I was born and raised in Posillipo. My grandfather was use to catch fish on his own and cook it the very same day. So I'm well awarded of how good quality fish look and taste like. That's why I'm writing this...review in English, so that tourists can come to know that this is not representative at all of Italian finest food. Is not even rappresentative of decent food. It's a shame for our neighborhood and for our beautiful city in general that such a well known restaurant, as you are, serves almost spoiled raw tuna! This is not only a shame but it is also dangerous! Anyway here our experience step by step: first of all the dishes of the mis en place were dirty and dusty. I said to myself "well, let's be understanding... we are in the middle of August, they are in the middle of the service. Sometimes it can happen" so we just asked to replace them. They didn't apologize. We should had figured out at this point how the rest were going to be, in fact... ... we ordered tuna tartare and I wish I had a picture of it to show you what we had got: flash was grey, it smell bad and tasted even worst. We sent it back after one single bite and we have been told that this is the average look and taste of that kind of tuna (?????? Come on!!!). As I said I know exactly how fresh fish taste and looks, and I would have appreciated more honesty. Even a baby could have said that something was really wrong with that fish!In the first place they shouldn't have served row fish like that because it is unhealthy and second they should had at least apologize for the inconvenient instead of making up excuses like "this is the tuna we always serve and this is how average tuna looks like". Unfortunately few moments after we sent the tuna back the first course was ready (because we ordered first course together with entrees) so again we decided to give it a shot. In this case the overcooked pasta has been saved by the shellfishes which were not that bad, and I'm saying "not that bad" because they were nothing more than "not bad". We were hungry and we had already started drinking the bottle of wine we ordered, so we decided to stay for it, otherwise we would have left immediately after the tuna. Conclusion: mid august is not an excuse for dirty dishes and almost spoiled fish. Not ever. Especially for a restaurant in Marechiaro which is meant to be the expression of Italian quality and tradition. I'm not use to rate bad experiences but If "zero star" was available I would have rate you "zero star", especially considering that we explicitly told you that something major went really wrong and no one tried to make up for it. Dear "a' Fenestella" do you know what makes me so angry? you are so lucky to run a business in one of the most beautiful places in the world and you are simply wasting the treasure you have!More

If you are up to a little adventure, this restaurant is worth the drive, especially for dinner. It sits at the bottom of a cliff on the Mediterranean Sea, far up the coast from down town Naples. It was recommended by a woman at our...hotel. It is great for couples. The drive to the restaurant takes you high up the cliffs on narrow roads that wind around the coast line. It is about a 30 minute ride and will cost about 25 euros. The view from the dining room was breathtaking. We were seated at a window over the sea and the server opened the window fully for our pleasure. There was a full moon that evening and it shone over the water and above the city down the coast. They offered an extensive wine list. The menu, of coarse, was filled with local seafood. We began with an assorted antipasti of seafood and stuffed squash blossoms and a bowl of seafood soup filled with mussels, clams and crusty bread,We enjoyed pasta with prawns, and a risotto also with local seafood. There was also a grilled calamaro that was cooked to perfection. I will say that I was amazed at the large portions; not really typical of most Italian kitchens. When the grilled calamaro was delivered, I could barely finish.More

We went for lunch on a Wednesday in mid-September and were the only diners there! It was a beautiful sunny day so the views across the blue sea towards Naples with Vesuvius in the background and over to Capri and Nisidra were truly amazing! I've...not been impressed by the restaurant food during our week in Napoli and that at A Fenestella was a little above average but considering the views it was relatively inexpensive with a bottle of the very drinkable local Falaghina wine just €12!!More

I cannot write a real Review because this program will censure me. I Believe the location and the view are fantastic, but the food experience and the service could be improved a great deal.
