Barcelona is our favourite city and every time we go, we come here at least 3 or 4 times. The food is divine and the atmosphere is amazing. Really hope they are able to ride out the covid storm-look forward to visiting again as soon...as we can!More
The tapas here were very good, we sat on the terrace which it shared with the restaurnt next-door. There was street entertainers passing around, which was an extra bonus of fun. Great food, especially the calamares and ceviche.
Not more than 200m off Las Ramblas is the fantastic Bar Lobos. A super tapas menu along with great wines, beers and cocktails, as well as excellent breakfasts, make Bar Lobos a must visit on a short break to Barcelona. Combined with Hotel Turin on...Carrer del Pintor Fortuny, you will be surprised by the quality at inexpensive prices.More
Bar Lobo was only a few metres away from our hotel, and we literally walked past each day and night. It was always packed with people and in a nice little spot away from La Ramblas, so we decided to have an early dinner there...to secure an outdoor table. The menu is split into a range of tapas, ham/cheese/sausages, light dishes, and main courses.
We had the croquettes, tomato bread, meatballs with squid and porcini (they need to bottle up the sauce), and the ceviche de corvina. Delicious food!
It was lovely sitting outside enjoying the warmth and people watching. A busker had set up to play some music, and then came around with a cap asking for money. That got annoying after two songs and ruined the ambiance for us, so we asked for the bill and left.More
First visited this place in 2014, have been there 3-4 times during our stay back then. This year visited Barcelona again and came back to this place. Was pleasantly surprised to see they added new positions to the menu but kept old lovely food too....All our visits were amazing, food very delicious. We tried mainly tapas such as padron peppers, patatas bravas, asparagus, seabass ceviche, etc., but also calamares a la plancha, salmon, etc. Portions are big, everything was tasty, staff friendly, prices reasonable. Will be coming back to this place once in Barcelona again. Highly recommend.More
We ended up having lunch here twice during our weekend in Barcelona.
Walking around the neighbourhood on Saturday afternoon, I remembered having a drink at Bar Lobo on their terrace a few years ago with my mom. This time I was with my boyfriend, and...we went in for lunch. Service was friendly and the restaurant has a really nice atmosphere. We both ordered a dish from the specials (pulpo for him and sea bass for me) and some cava as an apero. My boyfriend is not a fan of cava but he actually really enjoyed this one.
While waiting for our food we kept eyeing the neighbouring tables. They had all ordered tapas and these looked so good! We were a little jealous so as soon as our dishes arrived my boyfriend ordered a side of patatas bravas (much to our waiter's amusement)
Not that I regretted my choice at all, the fish was perfect. I really enjoyed my lunch very much, and at the end we decided to return the next day to try out those tapas.
On Sunday the restaurant was again pleasantly crowded (not just tourists, locals too) and sunny. We had another glass of cava and ordered about 5 plates of tapas to share. We had a different waiter and this time we experienced an odd mix of abandonment / rushing. They must have been very busy, I saw they were preparing some tables for large groups as well.
We were somewhat disappointed by our dishes though. We hadn't expected so many of them being battered and fried. If we'd known this we would have selected a bit more variety. The food itself was fine, this was just us misjudging the menu and ordering the wrong things.
Still I had a nice lunch again. I wouldn't mind having lunch here again someday :)More
Our server was wonderful and friendly and provided great recommendations on food and wine selection. We shared the delicious green pepper tapas and the sea bass special with vegetables was cooked perfectly with a variety of beautiful vegetables surrounding it. The crowd was a mix...of ages both tourists and locals. Very reasonable prices for good wine as well which made a full meal with drinks and dessert very affordable for the very high quality.More

Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day
forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
