Unusual wooden bar like a butcher's table, where they chalk your bill up as you go. Choose from different barrels of sherry. Very reasonable prices.

I guess we were an inconvenience to the servers, and they were pretty grumpy about our crappy Spanish. I'm also not really a wine person (but I like to learn!) and I didn't get much help in figuring out how to order, what to order,...More

This is a place where you have to go at least once. Service is surly, wine is cheap, atmosphere is limited but hey its great. Really good place to go before going onto somewhere for serious food.

Loved the vibe and experience, a little nugget of history and a really cool thing to do whilst visiting Malaga.

Excellent. Very few tourists in though the staff speak some English so they are clearly used to tourists. You just point at a barrel and they pour you a drink, they will also make recommendations depending on whether you like sweet or dry etc. Drinks...More

Tradition rules at this spot where you pick your sherry, aperitif, or digestif from a marked barrel at a rustic bar. They'll keep track of your tab in chalk on the rustic bars which is charming and earth-friendly. A unique and rewarding pit stop.

A lovely way to experience Spanish sherry in a quaint, unique way. We didn't eat here but sampled some of the delicious sherry

I’m so glad we discovered this place, it’s well worth a visit while in Malaga. It’s an old, shabby and completely charming place where Malaga wines are served straight from the barrels and the price is chalked up in front of you on the bar....More

We had done a bit of reading up on what and where while visiting Malaga and Casa Antigua de Guardia was mentioned as one place not to miss. Our visit was memorable...and although not a table sitting sort of establishment, it works quite well for...More

I stumbled across this place while in Malaga, so glad I did. Not a tourist in sight, it offers a range of fortified wines and Spanish sherry. There are also a range of seafood, meat and cheese plates to chose from to accompany your drinks....More

I think it would be open on the 24th December, but you should check the website, if they have one. Well worth a visit and a few glasses of their wines and sherries. Extremely reasonable prices.
