Restaurant has a small menu (German food) which is encouraging and should allow higher standards. We found the food rather average and disappointing given the reviews. The place has in/outdoor seating.

Even you are in Weimar, go and dat in Erbenhof. A very good restaurant, Nice people who serve your dinner, and a pretty terrace. They serve typical good from the région. Enjoy your meal!
This one is going to be quick! The restaurant was absolutely great. Very friendly staff and very good food and drinks. A little pricy but absolutely worth it. Definitely gets my recommendation!
Just as any tourist hotspot, Weimar presents plenty of options for dining but not all of them necessarily good. However, there is real quality to be had and restaurant Erbenhof is a good example. Centrally located but slightly tucked away, the exterior of the restaurant...is encouraging with all the right visual cues. Unfortunately the interior is slightly off. Not by too much and it would be easy to remedy it with the removal of all of the red paint and an upgrade in the furniture. But don’t be deterred as outstanding Thuringian cuisine is on offer. First courses of Blattsalat and Rösti were a sign of good things to come. For our main courses we took the Mutzbraten and the Rostbrätel. They were a showcase for the complex and deep flavours that are a surprise for many visitors to the region. We finished with a Kübiskuchnen for pudding. Everything was outstanding. A delicious bottle of red from the local Weingut Eilfer, low in alcohol but not lacking in body or elegance. One minor annoyance was the price of a bottle of water which at €4.90 seemed rather excessive. However, the overall cost was reasonable and fair. Service was courteous, attentive and efficient. The apparent formality of the staff was tempered by warmth and good advice. A really first class experience and thoroughly recommended.More
Despite there not being a wisp of moving air in the courtyard on a hot July evening, we had a very nice dinner. Located just off a main square you need to know where you’re going. Unlikely just to stumble upon it. Service was good...although it took a while for the first course to arrive. We both started with the house mixed greens salad with a light mustard vinaigrette topped with grapes and honeydew melon. Very tasty. For mains I had the meat dumplings with capers and caper herb sauce. Sides included excellent mashed potatoes and beets. My companion had salmon trout and his sides includes mixed sautéed root vegetables and the mashed potatoes. A very satisfying meal for a reasonable price washed down with a cold Hefeweizen and Selters water.More
We had an enjoyable meal here. Service was a bit slow—they seemed understaffed. But otherwise we were very pleased. The baked goat cheese starter was superb! The marinated pork neck steak was quite good. My wife was a bit disappointed, though, with the carp, which...she thought was bland. Wide-ranging wine list. The server was just fine—he was over-stretched but perfectly friendly. Our one complaint is that he was too busy to be very helpful with wine selections, so we just made a stab at something, which turned out to be more fruit-forward than we wanted. A minor complaint.More
The Erbenhof lies a bit hidden behind trees on one side of the Frauenplan, across from the Goethe Haus and Museum. The garden outside was refreshingly shaded, the waitress friendly and helpful, under the stern eyes of a maitre d', who loosened up after a...while. The menu is not vast, but the food they offer regional (Klops, deer), delicious and well presented. A very relaxing lunch experience. As with (almost) all restaurants, the kitchen is using a tad too much salt - not necessary: the food tastes good all by itself!More
it is an amazing restaurant to have a lunch on the weekend with your family. So polite waitress and good service
We went here for dinner and got a surprise with the delicious dishes they serve. I had gnocchi and loved it. I also tasted the goulash and found it fascinating. The desserts looked delicious, but unfortunately l had eaten so much that l could not...order any dessert. If you have the chance, do not hesitate.More
I went here with friends to sample the delights of Thuringian cuisine. Pumpkin soup followed by venison. The meat was exceptionally well cooked and copious in volume (perhaps too copious). There were sufficient vegetables. Very decent local white wine. Very attentive service, and there is...an English menu if you ask, albeit with some quirky translations. A place to return to.More
