The short menu includes the fish of the day and the meat of the day. We had one of each along with a house white and a pitcher of Saint Chinian. The people working were friendly and efficient, the lamb fell off the bone and...my partner said her fish was succulent.
I was a bit disappointed that they were out of Tarte aux pinned by the time we ordered dessert and had to order profitarolles and mis-cuit chocolate with raspberry sorbet instead. That was a stroke of luck as they were both excellent. See the picture.
I'd go back again anytime! I was slagging the proprietor that he had Scottish and Japanese whiskey but no Irish and he gave me a taster of Japanese - not bad at all - like a smokey Jameson. A nice restaurant, great food and friendly people. A memory to treasure.More
Came to this quaint, charming little bistro for a family meal.
The food was excellently served and portions were perfect, the atmosphere was one of relaxation and the service was super. Definitely going to return.
We came here as a result of the excellent Tripadvisor ratings and we can see why they get them. A little off the beaten track but still walkable from the city centre and worth finding. The menu is small but everything is excellent. Despite having...visited France dozens of times this was the first time I’ve had frog’s legs as an option and as a starter they were superb. Very well cooked.
There are three options each for meat and fish and we both chose the specials, which are both based on what was fresh and available from the butcher/fishmonger. It’s great when restaurants do this. The slow cooked lamb I had was superb and bursting with flavour and the cod in vanilla beurre blanc my wife had was exquisite too.
Food was excellent, setting was excellent and the service was spot on. On what was an unbelievably hot evening, the hard work and professionalism of the staff and the ability of the kitchen to still serve flawless food is to be applauded and is a credit to them all
Truly one of the best meals we’ve had in Nantes.More
It is a nice bistro, but the choice is a bit too limited.
Only 3 meat dishes and 3 fish for the main.
Go there for the uncomplex atmosphere and friendly service with good value for mpney if you have no special wishes.
I came to Nantes for the weekend for the 4th or 5th time and came to Le Bistro des Enfants. It's absolutely the best restaurant in the area by far.
The service is friendly, personalized and attentive.
The prices are very reasonable.
The food is...to die for. Menu changes all the time but amazing every time.
A must is the Tarte fine aux pommes, it's made on the spot and when I say wow it's wowser!
Love this placeMore
