I wanted to eat something and this restaurant happened to be near me so I gave it a try and I am not disappointed! It was so good, I hope next time I will have friends with me to share a great time here
ordered through deliveroo they were excellent at responding in live chat and ordering the dish that was in question for no charge : got 2 chicken instead of 1 beef:
the food: indian is SO expensive here and in australia and i’ve no idea why...ordered 3 dishes (rice was free) and a lassi was around 48€ that’s over $76aud!
ordered poulet kashmiri & beef vindaloo they looked and tasted exactly THE SAME
first time in my life beef vindaloo has been in a pale mild creamy sauce - at least rice was free: rose ( pink) lassi made with some kind of thick stringy syrup : drank a bit the rest went in the bin . nearly 80$ for 1 average and 1 awful dish and a syrupy drink: really WHO ARE THESE PPl? and who on earth creates the demand?
The food was good, particularly the starter chosen from the fixed priced menu. I appreciated being able to specify how spicy I wanted the lamb curry to be. The prices and service were fine. I didn't like being handed a plasticised menu with a cigarette...burn on it. Overall the place was a bit scruffy. Not suitable for a business meal.More
This is a gem of an Indian restaurant. The dishes are all freshly prepared and the sauces are excellent. Upon arrival at your table you are given a papadum with three sauces: tamarind, cilantro yogurt, and Indian pickle, all well prepared. We ordered one Indian...special dinner with pakoras, rogan gosh beef and mango dessert. For our other order, we had samosas and lamb palak. All the dishes were nicely spiced to our liking and were definitely freshly made. The wine list is limited, so we had an acceptable 50cl pichet of red corbiere wine priced at a reasonable 7 euros. The nan bread was excellent, crisp and nicely prepared.
Worthy of special mention is the smartly furnished dining room, with the tables adequately spaced apart from each other. Our service was excellent, attentive and friendly. This was our second visit to this restaurant, and it was a repeat excellent performance. We were surprised to read some of the negative reviews concerning service, but perhaps the restaurant previously had some staffing problems that have long since been corrected. We will return to Nandi for our Indian fix, as this restaurant rivals some of the best Indian dining experiences we have had in New York City, London, Jacksonville, San Francisco and Cape Town.More
Not much room, tightly packed tables, I was disturbed every time someone passed my table. I waited 30 mins and still had not been served not even asked about drink! I was given a menu and 1 poppadum as soon as I was shown my...table. 45 mins and still nothing so I left. Service was very poor and slow. I will not be going back again and will not recommend it!More
Can't comment on the food as after being seated we apparently turned invisible. We sat there for more than fifteen minutes without even being acknowledged. Whilst understanding that restaurants get busy and service can sometimes be less than they would like to achieve, there is...no excuse for staff ignoring customers seated in a prominent position. We left, although they probably didn't notice.........More
We reserved on line through The Fork with a nice 30% discount. We arrived a bit earlier and were informed that the kitchen was preparing, but we were invited to have a seat and order our drinks. Very friendly staff (European lady and two Indians)...took excellent care of us. The food quality was excellent. We started with the mix to share for the two of us and then the butter chicken for my wife and I got the tikka massala chicken. Both were very tasteful and the rice was nicely perfumed.
The prices are very reasonable (EUR 13.90 for main course and an ok wine for only EUR 16.5) and the place is clean, with excellent food. I would go there again on my next trip to Nantes!More
Lovely stylish modern interior, simple menu, friendly service, reasonable price, tasty food but it has to be one of the slowest restaurants ever.
We put a two hour ticket on our car and after waiting half an hour for them to take our order I...started to have my doubts. We only ordered one course, no starters, no desserts, no coffees, and I got back to move our car with exactly one minute to spare. The one course meal had taken the whole two hours, less the few minutes run to the car.
They did apologise for the delay. No reason given, no discount nor on-the-house offer.More
