We were a party of eight. Our group ordered a variety of pasta dishes, salads and an omelet. We had a bottle of wine and several different desserts. All meals were very good, presented well and in a quiet atmosphere that was conducive to conversation.

My wife and I and four teenagers ate at Le Jardin des Pates last night after a very long day travelling from Canada to Paris and going to the Eiffel Tower. It turned to be a great experience. We were exhausted when we arrived, it was quiet with some nice jazz playing and our server was quiet but kind. We had a tasty beer with our decent pasta dishes and left happy. Would recommend for someone who needs a quick affordable meal.

We had a good time, the restaurant is well decorated and the servers were friendly.
The cuisine is good, without being exceptional (lack of generosity for pasta dishes and flavor, we found our dishes a little bland and not very satisfying).
Dishes also quite expensive in comparison (for pasta..)
To do, but perhaps not to do again for our part.

We passed this on our way to the nearby (and stunning) Jardin des Plantes and decided to come back to eat there at lunchtime. We weren't disappointed - they have an interesting menu of dishes in which the pasta is made of different ingredients e.g. chestnut, rice, wheat and other grains. My chestnut pasta with duck and mushrooms was delicious though perhaps a bit substantial for lunch; my husband enjoyed his pasta omelette with salad. Informal, friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices. Most of the people eating there seemed to be locals.

It all started with the waitress pretending that all tables were reserved. But we were allowed to sit at an uncomfortable and not yet set table next to the toilet.
Waiter was not friendly either, couldn't smile. Not necessarily necessary.
Two pastas chosen. One with tomato sauce, eggplant and mozzarella and one with salmon and cream sauce.
Both pastas were completely tasteless. No salt and pepper. Let alone herbs. And very few vegetables.
This did not give me any confidence to have another dessert.
In the end, the other tables remained empty and we did not have to sit in that unpleasant place at all.
Service remained unfriendly.
No idea why there are positive reactions. Rarely have I eaten so lifelessly. An Italian would run out of the shop screaming after one bite, that's how bad.
Not recommended!

An address to discover if you like pasta. Beautiful, tasty and quite generous plate. The place is modest in terms of decor but everything is on the plate. The choice remains limited both for the starter and the pasta but enough to satisfy fans. Quiet atmosphere, few people...

Delicious home made pasta - I had the wheat pasta with tomato basil and cheese and it was superb. Cheap and cheerful right next to the wonderful Jardín des Plantes.

We loved this restaurant! We booked well in advance but it was not busy on a Sunday evening. The food was excellent. The menu was not large but very interesting.
For starters we had cucumber with yoghurt and an asssiette de crudites but the main feature of the restaurant was its home-made pasta. My wife had chestnut pasta with duck and mushrooms; I had the barley pasta with salmon in a delicious creamy sauce with leeks. The desserts were special too: a chocolate tarte and a clafoutis. We had a half litre carafe of wine; following the waiter's recommendation we chose the lighter red and it was the right choice.
The waiter was helpful and efficient. The atmosphere was relaxed. We really enjoyed our visit.
It is located close to the Jardin des Plantes which is certainly worth a visit. The nearest metro stop is Jussieu.

Fantastic dinner with colleagues , we all ordered the daily pasta special with broccoli and blue cheese, it was delicious. The house wine was very good, the service was courteous and patient while we waited for all to arrive. The desserts were good but not as good as the main dish! Very worthwhile restaurant in this part of Paris.

Nice little place in a cozy area of Paris. Everything is made with love but you need to be patient with the service. Everybody is so nice and want to do the best they can for you but I think we hit a bad day.
We ended up leaving without eating as it took too long and when we finaly ordered they came back 10 minutes later and told us that they didn't have what we ordered.
Wine was great though :-) It is a family place so expect kids !
I hope they stay in business and get it together.

We had dinner here as we were staying nearby. We had a reservation but were seated at the worst located table - in the entrance near the restroom despite that the restaurant was not busy. After we carefully began to review the offerings in French, the waitress brusquely turned the menu over to English even though the translation was not very accurate. (Example, the wheat pasta dish included eggplant but that ingredient was missing from the English menu).
Anyway, the food was great which is why this review is 4-starred. The local cheese entree and gazpacho were outstanding, and the homemade wheat pasta was one of the best dishes I had in Paris. I just wish we had felt more welcomed. This was the only restaurant in Paris where we felt singled out because of our nationality.

Visiting les Jardin des Plantes and feel like a healthy and good lunch? Tired of stepping into tourist traps? This place is highly frequented by local residents since 1984. Consistently good, original dishes all based on homemade pasta with many natural ingredients.
