A stone's throw from the plant garden; very warm welcome (even with 2 young children), friendly and available service, pleasant room. Homemade and tasty dishes with a menu where everything is desirable, very good value for money, we had a great time. Children's menus with real quality minced steak and homemade fries. Highly recommended.

I have been several times to “Les Arenes” for a quick and not too expensive lunch close to Jussieu.
The menu offers in particular a short selection of daily meals, any of them being generally a good choice. The service is good, the personal very cheerful and I have never been disappointed by the place. It should however be kept in mind that the place is often quite crowded.

Wow delicious from start to finish. Even the fries are super tasty. The typical homemade brasserie meal dishes were so tasty, plentiful and well presented.
Fast service in a brewery in full swing, super friendly waitresses and good advice.
I would come back here every time I am in the neighborhood. Top-notch.

Not a great experience. The food was ok (not great, not bad, just ok) but they’re understaffed. The waitress moved us from the shade to the sun and then left us there with water for almost 45 minutes while she served another table in the shaded seat she moved us out of, start to finish - order, drinks, food.
Normally this is the part where I say “but it was worth the wait” if the food was better. My penne was very good, my wife’s fish and chips were weirdly full of chicken strips (I didn’t even see those on the menu?) and my friend’s risotto was crunchy-level undercooked.
Overall I think I wish we had spent the two hours and eighty euros elsewhere.

Terrific little place near the Jardin des Plantes. If you want a change from the usual touristy fare, this is a great place to start. Excellent service, good ambiance in a very local hangout. My wife loved her shrimp and avocado appetizer, and my orange shrimp risotto was absolutely amazing. Again, if you’re looking for the usual tourist fare, this isn’t it.

Good and atmosphere was so good, we came back a second time. Even rode Velib bicycles fifteen minutes just to get here.
I had a sea bass salad and Anjuli had Hake over grilled chickory with hazelnuts.
Both were worth writing about, but the service excelled all.
We tried our high school French and they allowed us, but when we came up against our limits, they jumped right in with excellent English to assist. They even let us switch back to French.
We had a wonderful time.

Fantastic lunch in a bustling corner brasserie. We loved our food, the wine, and the service was so kind and friendly. If we were here a few more days I’d come back for dinner!

We had a nice business lunch here with 13 people. I took the lunch special which was really very nice. The restaurant is a bit small and we had some problem to get a table for so many. The service was also great!

You are warmly welcomed by Myriam and Arnaud (who both speak English) to this traditional, typically Parisian brasserie, with modern clean décor, where one can sit and enjoy the terrace outside or cosy up at the twin aspect copper bar inside. You can sip a cool, crisp glass of wine or beer and enjoy the local bustling ambiance whilst basking in the sun.
The extensive menu includes two freshly prepared daily dishes, and a range of enticing and mouth-watering recipes. The delicious food here is refined, but classic with a modern twist and very reasonably priced. Leave room for the particularly amazing desserts! Their chef is original and very inventive with his creations.
The patrons of this brasserie offer a wide variety of entertainment, including exhibiting local artists’ work and occasionally a unique musical experience. It’s nestled between Les Arènes de Lutèce, the Jardin des Plantes and the Paris Mosqué and is in the heart of the Latin quarters (Jussieu Metro – Line 7).

Nice part of town, nice terrasse. But that's about it, the food is terrible. I had a ceviche which proved to be a fatty cucumber dip with a few almost invisible tiny slices of dorade. My friend had the entrecôte and she could't cut it, that hard the meat was. French fries were fresh and good. Altogether, isappointing.

This lovely cafe restaurant is on the corner of our block and we are so glad. The coffee is excellent, the food delicious and a good value. What I like best is the warm welcome the owners extend to all. Most regular customers (and there are many) are greeted with a handshake/une bise.
You get the sense you are being welcomed into a home. Très charmante.

My wife and I recently stumbled across this cafe and weren't expecting anything amazing. However, both the service and food were beyond our expectations! We're so happy we came across this cafe, though the food goes beyond what any traditional cafe would serve.

I arrived at our hired apartment with my family in the afternoon, and once we'd unpacked and settled in, we wandered around and found this very nice looking Brasserie. The ambience was excellent, and generally the food my family ordered for themselves looked to be of a very high standard. I, however, made the unfortunate mistake of ordering a steak, which came as standard as a medium rare, but unfortunately was tough as old boots and very stringy. I had to chew and chew and chew, and eventually spit much of it back out. Order literally anything else from the menu and you'll be very happy. Just don't get the steak.

Dear Nat,
My husband and I don't check the comments on TRIP ADVISOR that often because we are very busy, otherwise we'd have answered much sooner. I feel so sorry, not about your comment, but about the fact that you didn't enjoy your meal! You should have told us, we would have been happy to change your main course! Just to let you know, we did realise that there was a problem with our meat, and stopped buying from this butcher. Again, we do apologise, and would be happy to welcome you again when you come to Paris. If you do, please let us know it's you!
Best regards,
Mimi, Nono, and the team!

Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
