THANK YOU FOR YOUR AVIS
We booked this restaurant on the basis of Trip Advisor reviews and they were bang on the money. Down a little side street, through a tiny but extremely stocked local produce shop, we were led to a tiny restaurant of around 20 covers. The owner...was fantastically enthusiastic (and fit too, considering how many times he had to go up and down the stairs) and talked us through the menu in French (Corse and Italian also available). We went for the set menu - four courses for an extremely reasonable €27 each, including an apero to start with. The quality of the produce was superb - we finally got to taste figatellu sausage and it was excellent. The locally produced wine was excellent and I was introduced to yet another Corsican aperitif. Corsican food is filling so I wasn't able to manage a dessert but my partner's was excellent. It was also fantastic value - at €66 it was less than 1/2 of the price of the two meals that we had at the Old Port and much more memorable. Mind you, we did end up spending more than this in the shop downstairs (also available via mail-order). All in all, a must visit restaurant if you are in Bastia and want to try genuine Corsican food.More

This little restaurant is on the 1st floor of a delicatessen shop. What makes the place special are the lovely owners (elderly couple) who run the place plus the small dining room where people sit together and start chatting with each other. The food is...ok (the main was a bit bland) but the price is very fair (€27 for a 3 course menu).More
Merci pour votre avis et ces différents détails,au plaisir de vous revoir, cordialement.
We had a dinner in this restaurant for a dinner: there is a small room upside with 20 sits. We eated a menu (soup, figatellu with cheese and polenta, cheese and tiramisu) and a typical dish (I don't remember the name!) and a pastizzu. Very...typical and the owner was very kind. Quite expensive, like all restaurant in Corse.More

This is a funny quirky very friendly little restaurant serving home cooked local dishes. It's worth going there simply to enjoy the owner running up and downstairs looking after his guests. Charming. I just wish I spoke some Italian so I could have enjoyed his...chatter more. One word of warning - if you're not a dog lover, this might not be the perfect place for you, it's very doggie friendly.More
Thank you for your comments A presto
My sister, her two kids and I got to "U Paisanu" to buy some local food and wine. We bumped into some ppl who were going to have dinner there and recommended the place. It was our last night in Corsica and we wanted to...have a nice last meal before we leave. The owner of the shop/restaurant had already been super nice to us while choosing our products, so it was pretty easy to convince us to stay for dinner. We had a plate of cold cuts, polenta/cheese/ figatelli and an octopus salad. Everything was home made, and delicious. The owner, Francis, took good care of us and the children, taking time to discuss with us, sharing some nice stories, and just being lovely! Would definitely recommend this place and will go back for sure next time I travel to Bastia.More

For our last meal we went to this delightful restaurant in downtown Bastia where the owners' black lab met us. We had polenta, salad, cheese, omelet, bread, desert and wine. HIs wife cooks and the husband runs up and down the stairs serving the tables.
Thank you for your kind comment i'm glad you enjoy your visit <A PRESTO<
On 14th May 2015 our cruise ship docked in Bastia. It was Bank Holiday and the town was very quiet. We made our way through the picturesque streets towards the old port for lunch passing this restaurant/delicatessen on our way.Arriving at the port we found...that the restaurants were exactly what you would expect and turned around to go back to the little shop with its chalkboard outside. Inside was Aladdin's cave for foodies. We went upstairs where there are only 5 tables and tried the charcuterie and cheese platter washed down with rich Corsican wine, The flavours were astounding, the patron friendly and informative. We took the gentleman's web site address and hope to soon place our first order with him. We highly recommend a visit.More
Thank you for your kind comments - I'm glad you enjoyed your visit here. I'll look forward to receiving your order on my website. Thank you, Francis
We were lured by the authenticity of the store which is located behind the Bastia marina and were curious about what we would find inside. We were greeted by the owner who was super friendly. His passion for his produce which he makes himself was...clearly evident and he was keen to share it with us. I highly recommend that you try some of the typical Corsican meat and cheese they're fantastic. We bought some cured meats from the store which we loved. We didn't dine at the restaurant because it was closed that night but we know it would have been a truely authentic Corsican dining experience.More
