Food & wine were delicious, fabulous ambiance and great service. We had the Bourguignon Menu with Véritable Persillé de Bourgogne; Bœuf Bourguignon and Parfait Glacé et Shooter à la Liqueur (Bonne Poire). My husband and I shared the first course and appetizer and he had...the Entrecôte de Veau Sauce Périgourdine, Gratin Comtois. Great and creative food. The dishes were nicely presented and great throughout. The Staff was extraordinarily friendly and really complemented the unique atmosphere. Definitely a must for all Beaune travellers

Crème brûlée was the best of my life. Really detailed and softy crème. Boeuf bourguignon was also the best of my life. I compared the taste with other restaurant and the judge was easy.

The Caveau sits attractively away from the hubbub and tourism of Beaune centre, but is only a few minutes’ walk from Place Carnot. The main restaurant is in attractive vaulted cellars in the basement - well lit and well ventilated. There are two dinner menus,...at 28 and 40 euros. The former has three courses, the latter includes some better dishes and a cheese course. Overall the food was fine, and good Burgundy fare, eg oeufs en meurette. But there was little real choice on either menu and the a la carte offered almost nothing extra. The meat on the 28 euro menu was chicken, and on the 40 euro menu a bavette steak, not of the greatest quality, but fine. Desserts were also good - a decent creme brulée or a moelleux de chocolat, for example. Nothing was bad, but neither was it noteworthy. A decent wine list, as you might expect, and prices not too outrageous. We spent about 45€ on a decent Montagny and a Chorey lès Beaune. Overall 270€ for four. About what I would have expected. Service was just about OK, but slow at times, especially at the outset, but friendly throughout.More

very characteristic place with room of a wine . exquisite snails and abundant and very good dishes. spectacular wine list but the waiter was very stressed. we will return when we are passing through this magnificent city.

Caveau des Arches is just off the City Center and was a nice meal after a long day of exploring the City. Reasonable and unpretentious, with great food and a nice wine selection.

First let me state that Beaune, France is spectacular especially if you enjoy wine and history. A must see. It also has the highest concentration of Michelin rated restaurants in the world. This is not one of them. The location and decor is great, which...sets you up for a similar expectation when it comes to the food and service. Regrettably, neither lived up to that expectation. Given all the great places to eat in Beaune, I would put this near the bottom of that long and distinguished list. This is what I call a "tourist" restaurant.
