What a great surprise! Very fresh products, carefully and beautifully presented including some langoustines, truffles and beef fillet. The menu at 80€ for a 5-course meal is a steal. I haven’t had such great value for money in years. The wines are also surprisingly fairly...priced. This restaurant deserves to be full each night (which it wasn’t when we came).More

If you're looking for a special meal this is the place! Not cheap, especially for us with the poor exchange rate , but worth every euro! The Michelin starred chef creates amazing food which looks as beautiful as it tastes. Aperitifs are served with a...variety of canapés and home made butter accompanies the home baked bread. White tablecloths, large white napkins, fresh flowers and Quimper crockery set the scene. A lovely calm, relaxing atmosphere , very pleasant, efficient and helpful staff all add to the experience. Menus start at 55 euros, this comprises five small delicious courses, all served with just the right amount of time between each one.The wine list is more than comprehensive!! Fortunately staff are very knowledgable and happy to give advice. Who knew a red Sancerre would be good with fish??!! My husband is vegetarian and was catered for exceptionally well, with a course arriving for him each time mine appeared. He said it was the best meal ever and it was all beautifully presented. Just when we felt we could eat no more, coffee was served with a variety of home made petit fours! Perfection!! An absolute little gem, you won't be disappointed.More

Charming house set in a forest outside Pont-Aven. Large parking. Plenty of space inside, with direct view into kitchen. Tables set lovely, with space around. Very professional service. Food delightful. I tried all in this area, this is the best and most civilized restaurant.

While there are other local restaurants with Michelin rosettes, La Taupiniere (which used to have one) remains in our view the best in the area. The people are always charm itself; nothing is too much trouble. The place is charming: a thatched cottage in trees...with a nice garden. the internal decor is bright and stylish. The food is excellent and well judged, with a wide choice; there are three good (and good value) set menus. The wine list is to match! A meal here is a delight.More

An excellent meal at a very reasonable price. All five dishes were well presented .No great quantity on each plate but more than adequate. We did not leave hungry. The Maitre D was attentive but discreet . The waitress service was good.

I can‘ t think why it has taken us so long to return to this superb restaurant. There are some very fine eating houses in this part of Brittany but Guy Guillox in my view tops the lot with great creativity backed up by superb...service in a very welcoming setting. Fish is the speciality and whether it be crab, coquille, turbot or any other of the local favourites, M.Guillox finds an original method of making it all especially appealing. Looking forward to the next visit.More

I was not convinced of Moulin de Rosmadec. Ar Men Du has excellent food, but no cosy atmosphere. La Forge d'Antan has wonderful style, and is easy because it is a small level below one star Michelin. Very pleasing in all. So is La Taupiniere....Bigger, more generous, specialized in langoustines. Very relaxed, excellent chef de service, tempting menu and wine list, open kitchen. Please pay attention to the very useful books of the chef, on display close to the door. So if you like beauty & good food: go to these two lovely places.More

This tucked away restaurant never fails to impress loyal guests as well as any newcomers. The dishes boast delicately combined flavours and tastily concoted combinations to regale the palate. The chef really knows how to enchante his clientele and the staff are ever observant and...courteous.More

My husband and I spend a month in Paris every year. La Taupiniere, just outside the tiny town of Pont Aven in Brittany, is as good as the very best restaurants we have dined at in Paris. The setting is lovely, in a small house...on a quiet road. The welcome is warm and inviting. The two dining rooms are quietly elegant. And the food is beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. The table service is attentive with no pretension. We rarely find the need to question a wine but we thought our first selection might have turned. The host tasted and felt that while the wine was not spoiled it had lost some of the attributes that make it special. He offered to change it for us, without hesitation. This was the right thing to do but it was done with exceptional grace and good humor. In short, nothing could have been better. Dinner here is expensive though not outrageous and we felt the price was fully justified by the quality. We hope to have another chance to dine at La Taupiniere.More
