My wife and me are visiting a concert in Manchester next week. A friend of us highly recommended Adam Reid and we tried to visit them. We would have loved to stay for two courses and a bottle of wine at the same price as...More

Enjoyed a 9 course tasting menu here and the flavours were interesting, the desserts were the best. Wonderful attentive service.

What we particularly enjoyed about this restaurant was the relaxed dining. There was no formality that you find at many high quality restaurants. The staff particularly made sure it was an enjoyable experience. Each of the 9 courses was delicious! The Cumbrian red deer was...More

Had the 4 course tasting menu for Lunch. Changed one of the wine pairings and it worked very well. Nice textures and great tastes. Been to better restaurants and feel they just need to do a little more to get a star.

Very hard to understand why this wonderful restaurant does not have a Michelin star. Creative, innovative and incredibly tasty food compositions, great wines and very friendly and capable staff. We enjoyed our dinner immensely and The French is highly recommended!

Having recently dined at ‘James Sommerin’ in Cardiff and ‘Restaurant H’ located in the Bastille district of Paris, I have based my review in comparison with these one Michelin starred restaurants; the thing that evades both The French and Manchester since 1977. Sadly, for The...More

A second visit to Adam Reid at The French last night and of all the meals I've had this year I'd put this at number two, just behind Restaurant Story; which should have two Michelin stars in my opinion. So then, another year, another snub...More
