All reviews hake creme brulee steak prawns pasta goats cheese table upstairs specials board three courses cooked to perfection great menu lovely meal book in advance food was amazing staff were attentive booked a table visiting inverness
Excellent service from Karen from the moment we walked in to leaving. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. The meal itself was first class. Would highly recommend this restaurant and will be back.
We were in Inverness on a Saturday and left it late to book a table. Phoned on the Friday but they were fully booked. However they asked for my name/number and said they would get back if they had a table become available. At 15.00hrs...on Saturday the call came though that they were able to accommodate us as one of the parties that had booked and who the restaurant had phone to confirm the booking told them they were not coming but had 'forgotten to phone and cancel the booking'. Why are people so selfish. It is so easy in this day and age to phone/Email/text to change the booking. Shame on you whoever you are. The Fig and Thistle is one restaurant you must visit if you are in the Inverness area. Terrific food - Terrific staff - Terrific atmosphere. It is very central - very near the Eastgate Shopping Centre.
Re my earlier comments do make a booking before so you are not disappointed.
We only had starters and main courses so we are looking forward to our next visit when we can sample the desserts. .More
We’ve been here a few times and this time we weren’t disappointed.
If you think the atmosphere, service and food was good in the past it’s well above that now.
Our started were to kill for, the Salmond was huge, so my good lady said,...so I enjoyed a bit off it and my lamb was exceptional. The cheese board with the Irish coffee just put the icing on the cake.
A family run business that exceeds.
Can’t wait to go back.More
Went here for lunch out with my better half. Menu is just the right size to indicate quality. We had main courses and were not disappointed. You eat with your eyes first, tick. Then the taste brilliant, dessert was Devine and widd add I hadn’t...shared. Highly recommended and we will be back soon.More
Wow why has it taken us so many years to visit. We had a superb lunch on the way back from Syke. A foodies paradise a smallish menu - always a good sign. Venison burger/croquets, beautifully cooked, prsented and sooo tasty. Excellent wine, desserts to...die for we had creme brulee and cheesecake. Service was friendly, efficient too. We will return!More
We have eaten here a number of times over the last 8 months for lunch. Each visit has been perfect, with great food and a warm welcome.
We used to queue in the cold next door until we found Fig and Thistle, it is now...our go to when in town.More
My Mum and I were in town doing a bit of shopping and went in for an early lunch-service was quick and very friendly and we both had the Thai Red curry and it was absolutely delicious!! One of the best meals I’ve had in...a long time 👌🏼 Been before for family meals and can’t wait to go back again! 😊More
Another excellent meal here, pleased to see its still a thriving business after Covid-19. We enjoyed a beautiful meal of King Prawns in garlic & paprika, salmon with coconut rice, rump of lamb with tomato and rosemary jus ( I don’t like tomato based sauces...so they very kindly served the jus in a little jug, as it happened I much preferred the lamb without the sauce but my sister had the sauce and loved it). For dessert we had strawberry and cream cheesecake and vanilla crême brûlée. All delicious.More
