This is a very very special place. Pretty much next door to Mackintosh church, (and Partick Thistle). The atmosphere and the food are a reminder of the priceless things in life and has sadly got lost. Got talking to one of the neighbours round the...corner, it’s a proper community. As for the vanilla ice cream - with a dab of raspberry sauce - buy one, take to the church (open 11-4 Mon,Wed,Fri) and buy another on the way back. There’s a big feature in the current Glasgow University Guardian, 100 years old this year, Art Deco interior, Billy Connolly was once a regular, and for all that this place has seen it is still very special for what it is now.More

I was saddened by the decline in what was my favorite diner AND further up Maryhill Road the Chip shop of Same name. At one time these places were must haves and we're a luxury you looked forward too. Now however they've cut costs by...buying in cheaper foods but still the prices have drastically went up. My fave the Sausage supper I found that whilst the sausages were bigger they were tasteless and when enquired about the change from the smaller ones I was told "cheaper to buy in"More

Fantastic little 'old school' Italian café. It has a wonderful nostalgic feel to the place, always busy and vibrant and the two owners are always friendly and helpful. Mainly, the food is outstanding. Nothing too fancy, just great tasting grub! Definitely recommend!

Wnderful wee tally cafe – not many of them left now. Had Maccallum and ice cream (back to my childhood!)– both delicious! Cafe busy at 9.00, and also at 1.00 when I came back for a hot bowl of soup. Prices VERY reasonable. Just a...pity they don’t do fish and chips any more1More

Food was overcooked, greasy and unedible. Ice cream has raspberry sauce put through the tubs so one of my friends kids could not eat it, even though we asked for it separately and where prepared to pay extra. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. If you...want the ice cream go to the cafe....its cheaper than the chip shopMore

Its great to have a,family run restaurant so close to gone with quality food. Walk 5mins to west end & you'd pay triple for what they charge in Jaconellis 1 thing I cringe about though. Staff seem overly affectionate , I'm a 51yr old man...& dobt like a lady calling me " her little chicken" its pretty I know.but I'm saying as I've grew up eating from here ,50yr, as my mum took us as kids. So i do care that this restaurant stays open & busy ,& I've heard this from several customers.i know when your used to a way of speaking it's hard to change, & I'm not even sure you should. It's only my opinion, & a few others who've been in with me. Hate saying this but apart from that, you'll not leave jaconellis hungry, OH & THE ICE CREAM IS TO DIE FOR. it's an asset to maryhill rd. I couldnt imagine QX without them. The place would lose its magic, long may jaconellis last.More

My partner and I were out and about thid morning and decided to go for breakfast. We were very lucky there was a free table. I had the small breakfast and he had rolls and sausage with onions. The food was superb and not one...bit of grease on the plate. The young girl that served us was fantastic and friendly. We both had a juice also. Bill was around £10 which was very reasonable.More

Jaconelli's Cafe is a place I had heard about for years but never actually visited, and one Saturday afternoon I was attending a Partick Thistle match at Firhill and had time to spare, so thought I would go along and grab a bite to eat....As soon as I walked through the door it was a nostalgia trip of visiting places like this in the mid 80's on day trips to Largs, Ardrosaan, Troon etc with my grandfather to get a ice cream and a can of cola or lemonade..... also feels like when you find a old live Billy Connolly live recording that takes you to a bygone age of Glasgow life. Glasgow has a ok-ish coffee house/cafe scene, but rough around the edges places like these are becoming less and less. As it was lunch time I ordered a coffee and cheese salad roll to go, both of which were freshly prepared in no time (with my roll a proper McGhee's fire roasted crunchy roll). Coffee was really nice and prices were excellent. Their all day breakfast looked excellent, and will most likely visit again in future for a ice cream. All in all a lovely trip down memory lane, and will most certainly be back again.More
