Tried this restaurant as I’d heard good things about it. I didn’t realise they take £20 deposit when they take your card details, this was not made clear. Service was a bit sketchy at first we waited about 10 minutes after being seated then someone came and said would we like to order, we said yes some drinks first, waited another 10 mins and had to ask for them. Maybe it was because it was Saturday night and pretty full. We ordered our starters and the main came out 2 mins after we’d finished. Some time between would have been good. My husband said his steak was not cooked to order but did not want to complain I had the burger and onion rings which were nice. I noticed the salt and pepper shaker had a greasy mark on it. If you are charging this much you need to get that right. The tables are tiny and they are very close together. It is also in a very run down part of town. One other point was my sparkling water and cola was not chilled and I had to ask for ice. Lacking attention to detail in my opinion. Also quite pricey.

Had a family celebration dinner here after reading the reviews and have to say that the five stars are well deserved.
The starters were delicious and the steaks were absolutely superb . They came with a very generous portion of chunky chips and a mushroom. The sides were also good value with good sized helpings
Staff were very attentive and helpful,
Not a cheap dinner but well worth it for the quality and service that you receive.

Wow wow wow …. Not enough wows can explain how good this restaurant is., we were blown away … my husband and I have experienced many steak restaurants all over the world and to be honest this beats many Michelin stars by far .., from staff to price to cleanliness to hospitality this wins hands down. Mark, front of house leads a team of people who know exactly how to cook and present food. Cannot recommend it highly enough. If your in Glasgow Please visit you won’t be disappointed ..

Hi I visited the meat joint with excitement given the reviews I looked at. Wow not what I expected at all it’s overpriced overrated and just disappointing. The service was poor the food was ok but for the premium prices you really have to be looking for more , for the first time ever it was explained to me if they feathered a fillet steak it keeps the moisture in . You can kid some people sometimes but not all the people all of the time . I would rate this a two.

I came here with my partner visiting Glasgow on holiday and saw this as a recommendation on tiktok for places to visit. Im not going o pretend I know a a lot about steaks, but what I do know is that it tasted incredible and at a reasonable price for what you get. We have been frequent visitors to some big name chain steak restaurants and this blows them out the water. The atmosphere was on point, the food was incredible and the price was good. But to top it all off our server Mark was incredible.
I have worked in hospitality for nearly 6 years in different places of different price meaning I have worked with many servers and bartenders over my years, but Mark is clearly a professional and one of the absolute best. It was on a day that the restaurant along with many others had no water due to a blown water pipe in the city centre and he was clearly very busy and stressed. However, this did not stop Marks inviting smile and friendly service and would highly recommend a visit if you are in Glasgow, especially if you are lucky enough to get Mark as your server.

Absolutely delicious meal accompanied by very lovely and attentive staff. When making our reservation we requested a table out of the way and we were very pleased to be led to a corner table in the back half of the restaurant.
We shared the Haggis, Neeps ‘n’ Tatties and the Black Pudding Chorizo Scotch Egg for starters, my husband went so far as to comment that the scotch egg was the best starter he’s ever eaten, and I’d be minded to agree.
I had the venison for a main and my husband had a sirloin. Both were cooked perfectly, equally as delicious as our starters, and just the right size to leave us satisfied but not overly stuffed.
Would definitely go back if we were in Glasgow again!

My partner and I had wanted to try this place for ages so opted to go for a treat prior to going on holiday.
I wanted to love it but if you walk away from a steakhouse and are raving that the onion rings were the best things on your plate then there is something wrong.
Greeting when we entered was poor. Barman was surly and definitely had attitude. Waiting staff pleasant enough but please drop the “Sir” nonsense - that’s only appropriate if you’re addressing someone that has Sir as a title! Restaurant itself doesn’t have a particularly warm vibe and I actually felt very rushed. Tables too small, every time I cut anything on my plate, the plate kept going walk about on the table. And please - as the sauce is served separately what is the pot of putting chips in those dishes?
As for the food. Well as I mentioned earlier the onion rings were the star of the show. They were DELICIOUS. Salad on plate was pointless - as a steak restaurant more appropriate to put on some mushrooms. Peppercorn sauce was ok but lacked a kick. Chips were rotten, did not look particularly appetising and didn’t taste that nice. Steak was ok but have had better.
When you’re paying £50 a head for a steak and one drink you expect better. Wouldn’t return.

Went for lunch with a friend after hearing good things and safe to say the trip was well worth it. This restaurant has produced the optimum price v quality v quantity outcome. Excellent tasting food, fairly priced with extremely generous portions being delivered by exceptional staff. There isn’t anything more anyone could ask for. 10/10 would highly recommend to anyone 🥩🥩🥩

We are always on the look out for exceptional food, first class service and lovely settings, not always an easy task but today we found an absolute gem in the heart of Glasgow.
The greeting from Mark and the team was warm and genuinely friendly.
The food was simply outstanding, it can be said I am very particular and don’t mind pointing out when something is amis but in this case every aspect of our visit was fabulous.
The scallops were wonderfully fresh and cooked perfectly. My husband had the fillet steak , again cooked exactly to his liking and tasted wonderful, the monkfish was out of this world.
The White Russians were excellent rounding off an amazing meal.
This small by it perfectly run family business is definitely on our favourites list and we would 100% recommend a visit as soon and as often as you get the chance.
We will absolutely be back.

Gorgeous restaurant decor, service was outstanding (THANKS), background music was perfect. All of these things contribute to an excellent overall experience. Now on to the serious stuff.
The food was incredible.
Scallops were cooked to perfection as was the monkfish.
If you eat with your eyes, then you will love this place. The Presentation is Masterchef standard and it tasted every bit as good as it looked. I had the Venison dish which was just beautiful. It’s been a while since I’ve had venison cooked as well as this. The honeycomb dessert is now on my list of favourites.
Sorry I don’t have photos to share but I was too busy enjoying myself to care about taking pictures. Go there and see for yourself :-)
We will certainly be back to sample some of the steak that we saw going to other tables.
The French Pinot Noir is silky smooth and well worth paying for and would recommend the dessert wine also.
Its lovely to see somewhere new in Glasgow of this standard. Well done to everyone involved in this wee gem.

We chose this restaurant, based on the fact that TA users rate this as the number one restaurant for steak in Glasgow. The standard of food and drink is frankly dreadful.
We were told by the waiter that they could make ‘any cocktail.’ We ordered two strawberry mojitos, a pretty basic drink to prepare. Never have I previously seen a mojito made first without mint or with ice cubes as opposed to crushed ice. If you don’t have the competence to make something, at least have the decency to tell the customer.
The ‘haggis neeps & tatties’ starter consisted of two slices of raw ‘micro turnip’, some totally over spiced haggis encased in some undercooked pastry, smothered in overpowering and disgusting peppercorn sauce, a crispy potato nest, which tasted of dirty cooking oil and some completely tasteless purée.
The Chateaubriand was cooked correctly but just completely tasteless and bland. The accompanying peppercorn and chimichurri sauces were inedible- think first week catering college student standard. The truffle fries were inedible and the ‘famous’ onion rings were greasy and undercooked.
The white wine was served warm and extremely difficult to drink.
At no stage were we even asked if we had enjoyed our meal… perhaps they knew what the answer would be.
It is astonishing that this restaurant rates higher than, for example, Spanish Butcher, where the standard of food and service are in another league.

We literally stumbled across this steak restaurant because we were in the restaurant next door, and when leaving saw how lovely the Meat Joint looked through the window,
We were so glad we did,
The service was exceptional and the food exceeded that.
I went against the recommendation on the menu for my steak and when I apologised I was assured that if I wanted my steak a certain way, that was exactly what I would receive,
It was very clear that a lot of care when into making the guests enjoy their visit. Mark and Luke, as well as another chap whose name we didn't catch, were excellent front of house hosts,
We don't often review restaurants in our own city, but this was certainly worth breaking that habit.
We look forward to returning to the Meat Joint.

Managed to get a last minute table, for Sat night. 8:15pm. Arrived and was seated promptly. Waiter was nice and friendly.
We looked at menus and decided on what we were having, then the waiter came to take our drinks order, we were ready to order food as well, so he took both and explained what a couple of the sauces were. Very helpful!
We then waited until approx 9pm to get our food, that was after prompting the waiter and looking over at another 2 tables who were seated after us and served before us!! If the wait for food is over 30mins surely we should of been aware of this and also even some kind of snack to keep us going!
Anyway, food arrived, it looked the part, but the steak wasn’t seasoned, very rare do I need to add salt to my food, esp in a steak restaurant!
It was a solid 5/10 for us I’m afraid. I’m a fan of Porter & Rye and Tiffneys for my steaks so unlikely to return.

We were in the Meat Joint recently and we had an exceptional meal!
My brother and friends wanted to go to the Butchershop were he normally goes but I recommended this place as I've already been before and wanted them to try it.
We ordered a mixture of starters and they were all delicious and well presented.
But the highlight of the night were the Cotes de Beouf... juicy, succulent and cooked to perfection! All served with a choice of sauces and beautifully cooked potatoes and chips along with some crispy onion rings.
We finished of with some gorgeous sticky toffee pudding with ice cream 😋
All in all we had an amazing meal. Along with 2 bottles of wine it was great value for money!
My brother was so impressed hes booked up for his 70th next month along with the family.

Cannot rate this restaurant highly enough, the food was delicious, very well presented, served promptly and very hot. The staff were really friendly and Mark could not do enough for us, a true asset to the business! Having ate in lots of Glasgow’s steak houses I can honestly say this restaurant has really stood out for me as the freshness and quality of the food was top class, the portion’s are great too and I can’t wait to go back to try other delicious food from the menu. I would recommend anyone who enjoys good food and service to get a table booked .
