Aizle has a relaxed atmosphere, which put us at our ease as soon as we arrived. The staff are incredibly efficient, yet manage to look like they’re never rushing or stressed, and were all knowledgable and enthusiastic about the food. And the food was fantastic!!!...Every course tasted as good as (if not better) than it looked. And there were so many courses! This was our first ever ‘fine-dining’ experience, and we wondered if we’d come away hungry, but we definitely didn’t have to worry about that! I had the vegetarian option and my husband the standard tasting menu, and we both thought everything was delicious, it definitely didn’t feel like I was missing out on anything as a veggie. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic meal and a fantastic experience.More

So since we last visited the price of the set menu has gone up to £85; a significant price to pay. BUT...this is actually good value for what is simply the best restaurant in Edinburgh. The food is beautiful to look at and better to...eat. Everything packs a great flavour punch. Attention to detail in every course is exceptional. Food (chef = Stuart) is matched by the service (service last night = Rebecca) - professional and very friendly. My only reluctance in writing reviews like this is that, progressively, it gets more difficult to book!More

Enjoyed the tasting menu with wine pairing tremendously. However, would suggest they slow down the service to allow a bit more time to savour the experience. Each course seemed a bit rushed, especially when pouring the next wine before we had finished the previous wine...pairing. Lovely staff, who all had great knowledge of the food and drink they were serving and overall a brilliant experience. Would definitely returnMore

The most amazing meal with accompanying paring wines - worth the money . Service was excellent from all the staff without exception. We could not fault anything- this was our second visit to Aizle but first time in their new site . Light and airy...venue - wonderfulMore

After eating years previously at the first location we were thrilled to be fiited in when they re opened at the Charloote Sq hotel. The food, drinks and staff were all amazing. One of the best meals of my life (pescatarian..great seafood in Scotland). But...the staff really make it, so enthused and knowledgable about their food yet discreet and efficient. Get a booking and go, I can't imagine ever being disappointed.More

Thanks to Covid we had not been down in Edinburgh for a while and this was our first visit to AIZLE since they moved. This was by the best dinner I have had in years and every dish was perfection and as its a bit...of a secrete I wont go into details of the dishes. The only downslide was the strong scent from the hand sanitiser which meant we all had to leave the table to wash our hands. My advice is to take your own.More

We dined here last Friday night. We were so looking forward to visiting Aizle again and it did not disappoint. Each course was delicious and well presented. We both went for the paired drinks, one wine pairing one soft drinks pairing each complimenting the dishes...perfectly. All waiting staff were extremely attentive and we absolutely LOVE the new venue. Looking forward to returning in the not too distant future.More

The food was excellent from start to finish and the service was also very good. However, the experience was marred by the feeling that we were dining in a dark corridor. Our table was one of three positioned well away from the main dining area,...separated from it by plants and a screen made of old doors. We were in the corridor to the kitchen so there was a steady steam of traffic passing our table. The lighting was terrible and as it grew dark outside we could barely see the food. We mentioned this to a member of staff, who plugged another lamp in but it was still terribly dark. The lack of atmosphere and darkness definitely marred the experience.More

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Aizle. Service was excellent and the food was amazing. Well worth a visit. Would highly recommend. Every course was beautifully presented and tasted absolutely delicious. Paired wines complimented the food perfectly.

Not really sure what to make of this but overall we wouldn’t return. The food was nice enough, the service professional and the surroundings pleasant but there was something missing. The food lacked flavour and balance, the way it was served often made it difficult...to eat, there was a lack of continuity of service with different wait staff for each course, the paired wines were really underwhelming and the sense of being in a hotel lobby made it difficult to relax. It felt like style over substance but obviously we’re in a minority here so maybe we were having an off day.More

Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town,

You definitely need to book - it’s a very popular place! They will adapt menus for dietary needs - my wife is Pescatarian and they did an option for each course. They will also do veggie menu but you will need to tell them... More
