We called ahead to ensure my wife who has coeliac disease could eat here safely and the staff were fantastic. They relayed all their procedures, how lever almost everything was gluten free, and we even had a call from the head chef to ensure us...all would be taken care of. Very friendly staff on the night too. Good for a special night out.More

Lunch was delicious - we had the sea bass and were delighted that the carby ingredients were replaced by low carb options. Expert knowledge of food

We were here on Sunday night with a friend from London on her way to the Borders so it was important that our choice was right. As well as flying high on Tripadvisor the 3 restaurants are also given outstanding reviews on Time Out’s Eating...Out in Edinburgh. We loved the food, the many carafes of wine!, and the excellent service. Wonderful staff and an incredibly reasonable bill! How funky is Bruntsfield becoming! Lovely to see this restaurant full on a Sunday night. Well done one and all!More

We visited for dinner with some friends. There was a good choice of interesting food on the menu plus specials on the board. Everything we had was freshly prepared and very tasty. The wine list was good and we sampled white, red and a sweet...wine with dessert. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are clearly labelled. It is certainly one of the best on this side of town and is on bus routes from the city centre. It is small so booking is recommended.More

What a treat to be be back in the 3 Birds for lunch again! Possibly the best restaurant in the Bruntsfield area, with its sublime food, warm welcome and lack of pretension. I had the hot smoked salmon and melba toast followed by the vegan...option of the coconut and lime roasted squash with corn and tortilla. Absolutely delicious. It’s a smallish restaurant so booking is advised but you’ll be so glad you did!More
