This should be regarded as a culinary experience, so much more than just a meal. We celebrated a special birthday but didn’t let anyone know, we just wanted to experience as it comes. The tasting menu at £125 per person sounds expensive yet it is...really superb. Every facet was excellent, the lobster superb, the cod was probably the best food I have ever tasted. The duck followed after they brought the whole around and it was superb. The dessert was exquisite, really hit the pallet. There are about 9 courses, delicacies to stimulate the whole experience. The food is wonderful, yet if you are going to truly extract the most out of the experience, choose the wine pairing. Wine, specially selected is brought out with each course to complement the taste in the food. It truly does work, the wines very finely matched. The fine Aloxe Corton Burgundy has to be mentioned, complimenting the cod perfectly. The one that surprised me was the dessert wine, a red, which really hit the spot. The one point I would flag is that the service is outstanding, yet when they are describing the wine to you, explaining how the wine highlights the food, they wear masks so the words are difficult to hear and they spoke very quickly, so if there was a small point it is for them to speak more clearly taking into account the mask. I dined here on a cold January evening and with the owners reputation I had some serious expectations. The staff from the initial greeting to collecting my coat to leave were very efficient and professional, if a little bit stiff. This however I expected as...is the top end of the Michelin scene. Only the Prestige menu was being served so that choice was easy, I also ordered the supplemental cheese course at a cost of £20. I chose a very modestly priced bottle of Aussie white at around £70 which was surprisingly good when you consider that there are bottles available here at £40,000! Canapés were good, if a little bit standard. The amuse bouchée was a umami rich broth which I must admit was excellent. The starter was a spelt ragout, unusual but still nice, as was the bread served, a treacly malty sourdough which was freely replenished. The next course was a signature Gordon lobster and shellfish bisque affair, such a deep depth of flavour it was my favourite of the evening. Fish course comprised of cod with almonds, brassicas and a caper veloute, predictable but well executed. The main event was a theatrical affair were a dressed up cooked duck was presented to each guest shortly before it was supposedly sent back to the kitchen to be expertly carved. Despite the misleading theatricals this dish was very good with seasonal elements of red cabbage and cranberry cutting the rich meat perfectly. A fruit vacherin cleansed the palate before the chocolate cremeux dessert. Both of these were good though they didn’t surprise or amaze me. Coffee was accompanied by some warm madeleines and pate de fruit petit fours. A good evening overall but did the extra £100 or so make this meal better than some of the less prestigious one starred restaurants in London? Not in my opinion.More

Fantastic experience, had the tasting menu with the wine pairing. Was supposed to be six courses, but ended up with nine as they brought out a extra things not on the menu. Each course was better than the last, and the wine was fantastic. My...favourite was the duck, my husband loved the cod. Oh, and the little lemon madeleines at the end were to die for. Fantastic service too, cant think of a single thing to criticise.More

I book the table in october for decmeber. Just before me and my friend landed in London the goverment chage the Covid restrict rules. So we both have to self isolate until the negativ PCR test outcome. I was too late to cancel reservation and...i think ok they gonna charge something small as penalties but no, they charge the entire dinner. Despite the fact that they had no work or expenses with us and despite my e-mail with an explanation about Covid situation that wasn't our foult!More

Fortunate enough to have had a Virgin Experience Voucher to use here. Staff were very friendly and professional and the restaurant was full even midweek. Had 9 courses expecting to still be hungry afterwards however we’re pleasantly surprised at how full we were. Bill was...still very pricey on top of the voucher but definitely an experience we won’t forget.More

Staff was friendly, had a good chat with our waiter who talked about his experience overseas and working in a luxury brand previously when he saw my bag. Also talked about food etc. food was generally decent. I mean it’s one Michelin star I don’t...expect too much from it. No fancy ingredients, it’s £125pp so I don’t expect caviar or anything but it’ll be nice to have. Truffle pasta was good but not worth an extra £45. Lina stores serves the same dish for £10. Loved the organic spelt ragout, grilled lobster, Cornish cod, exotic fruit vacherin. Main desserts were a miss, regardless of whether it was the chocolate cremeux or the yogurt parfait. French madeleines, you have my whole heart.More

I arrived right after my flight from Paris. I was holding a Hermes Himalaya and asked for a small stool to put my bag as I saw other guests had one, they replied they ran out so I asked for a third chair (table of...2), they said they cannot provide – in the end, I had my bag behind me through out my meal, not very comfortable. Just thought they could have catered more with charging over 50pounds just as services charge, it was not 10% or 15% off the bill. The meal took quite some time between arrival each dish, as our main arrived, I had no mood to dive in my dish, hence I asked to go as I don’t like to waste food, but they declined. I went to 3 stars and they would allow as long as I signed declarations. In the end, I took a bite and sent back 2 main dish untouched. The duck was not impressive and their service just made me want to leave asap. They were so concerned and kept asking me whats wrong etc etc, can they make me another etc. I know they tried but management could be more mindful with food wastage.More

We were lucky to book in 2 days before and the experience was wonderful and exactly what you’d expect from a Michelin star restaurant. The staff are very attentive and friendly but professional. The sommelier/maitre d was well versed and offered a wonderful non alcoholic...green tea sparking wine which was paired exceptionally with the prestige tasting menu. The menu it’s self was perfect, the lobster raviolo being my favourite. We throughly enjoyed the experience and will return again.More

Love this place. We have been here a few times over the years, always been 5 stars, for me. Food has great balance. Service is precise and friendly. Brilliant wine selection. You would have two stars, in my opinion.

First of all I’m gonna mention that i’m a head chef at an upscale restaurant (with experience of working in Michelin star restaurants), so definitely not an easy customer. This time while in London i decided to dine in Petrus. And i wasn’t disappointed at...all. I made reservations very well in advance (like a month before coming to London), since the place was really well booked. Couple of days before the visit i’ve got a call from the restaurant that due to the festive season a la carte menu wouldn’t be available and one could have pre-set menu only. That might be a problem for some, but i was fine with that. My friend and i opted for the menu without cheese and frankly it was more than enough for both of us 😊. When we arrived we were brought to the table by nice and attentive staff. I opted for a glass of champagne as an aperitif and also went for wine pairing with the menu. Now to the food: just amazing! And it kept getting better and better. Every course was very well seasoned and combined, one could smell and taste every single ingredient and all of them worked perfectly together. The wines complimented the dishes perfectly (in my opinion). The service was a blast as well. If one would ask me what course was my favorite i probably wouldn’t be able to say. Each of them was just perfect. Amazing sauces as well. With two menus, aperitifs, one wine pairing and couple of gin and tonics the bill was around 500£. But let me tell you something: you do know in advance and if you’re up for it, there’s nothing to regret. For me it was just the perfect fun evening in London which i won’t forget any time soon. Hands down one of the best 1 star restaurants and I’ve been to quite a few!More
