What an excellent restaurant. The food was absolutely incredible. Staff were very friendly too. I highly recommend the lamb, which is their signature dish. The hummus and pita bread is the best I’ve ever had! So tasty. A must try.

This is the perfect restaurant for us when we are in town. We live in another country but when in London we always try to come to Ceru, South Kensington which stands heads and shoulders above the other chain of eastern mediterranean cuisine restaurants for...quality and flavour. We love the ambience - friendly and busy, but not absolutely on top of the neighbouring tables. Great lighting too! The service is also very good. But the food is the stand out attraction here. Beautifully presented, the menu selections are carefully curated to be fresh and full of flavour. It is very hard to make a bad food choice here! Served as small dishes to share (think tapas!) they estimate 3 dishes per person but we always order more as we love the food so much. We always have the 3 in 1 dip starter with pita bread (and usually order two baskets of bread to finish it all). On Thursday, this last occasion we visited, we also had the fresh and crisp apple, mint and pomegranate salad with green chilli which was a stunning combination. Then we followed with the Cypriot Halloumi with Red peppers and spicy harissa dressing which packed a delicate punch, with sautéed portobello and shiitake mushrooms with pistachios and tahini which balanced the spices beautifully. We have tried the spiced cauliflower and zucchini fritters on previous occasions and love those too. The signature dish of Lamb shoulder in 12 shawarma specs and pomegranate, mint and pistachios is a must have. It goes very well with the sides of tahini drenched tender stem broccoli and spice roasted potatoes, another favourite of ours. This time we also tried the polenta and feta fries which had the most divine dressing. You really cannot go wrong no matter which selection you make, and will honestly need to rebook to try the rest of the menu options which vary seasonally. We wanted to try them all. Sadly, we never get to the desserts, nor even see the menu. We enjoy ourselves so much with this healthy and flavourful savoury selection we are too full to even contemplate them. However, we do recommend the Merwah white wine, a Lebanese grape that is a fresh and light accompaniment that, in our opinion, just beats the very good (and exclusive) Sauvignon blanc from Beirut. We would love to buy a cookery book of Ceru, or maybe an app/webpage so that we can enjoy the food when we are not in the UK.More

Very busy even at 6:00 pm. Food was amazing and worth the crowded rather noisy scene. I was dining alone, but treated well

Lovely local restaurant, with something different to offer in the flavours of the food. Served in small dishes, its the type of place to share dishes, similar to the Middle Eastern culture. We choose Muhamara (red pepper, walnuts etc) spelt differently on their menu for starter...served with small pitta breads and spicy prawns for starters along with shish tawok and lamb sholder, additional dish of spicy potatoes. Everything was lovely and tasty but the lamb sauce was slightly ranchid, over lemony flavour. the meat itself was delicious and falling apart. We did inform the staff who were more than helpful. We used the sauce from the prawn curry to mask the flavour. They offered to take it off the bill but we declined, the lamb shoulder meat was very good in itself. If you want something a bit spicy, this is the place to experience it.More

We've fallen into the habit of making CERU our dinner destination when in London. Our visit in May 2024 again did not disappoint. The food is very tasty and served in small plates for sharing. The wines are excellent. The service is very good and...the whole experience very nice. Highly recommended.More

Had an early dinner at Ceru as it was handy for Albert Hall. Food was pretty good and they have an interesting selection of wines from the Levant. Prices probably average for the area.

Such a lovely place! Food was absolutely lush. Really well flavoured and decent portion sizes for being small plates. I had the crisp apple and mint salad, the asparagus and the cauliflower (didn’t get a photo) and all were amazing! The houmous and the hamara...dip were both delicious too.More

This is a hidden gem of a restaurant!! A brilliant blend of Turkish, Eastern European, and Lebanese influenced cuisine. Every dish was so well thought out and the wines sourced from Israel, Greece and Lebanon complemented the food perfectly. In 30 years I have not...had an octopus dish as perfectly balanced as Ceru’s. Marinated in orange juice and juniper, served with a citrus harissa glaze and a celeriac purée, this was truly a triumph of a dish. We will definitely be back when next in London….More

Fantastic meal here on our visit to London. We passed by looking for somewhere nice to eat for dinner and came across this gem. We hadn’t booked but it wasn’t a problem and they kindly managed to fit us in. The staff were so lovely...and special mention to Matthew who was lovely and helpful with our food choices. The food was delicious, we enjoyed several small plates and the fresh baked greek pitta bread is a must. There was a great buzz about the place and we enjoyed a lovely evening here. Highly recommend!More

The greeter (maybe proprietor) joyously waved us to a table; the food that followed could not be faulted (chicken fingers was a bit of a weak link; more than made up for by their specialty Turkish apple tea - of which I had 2 cups)....Would have gone back with entire family if they had a high chair.More

My husband found Ceru while searching for gluten free dinners. Richard our server was helpful explaining that the menu was designed to be sharing plates and make some suggestions of his favorites. They have some amazing gluten free beers and the Gin Revolution was top...notch. We tried all three of the dips, the warm artichoke pea and spring onion salad to start. The flavors were so well developed and so fresh. We also tried the grilled chicken, battered squid, warm sixes cauliflower and spiced potatoes. Everything was perfection. Highly recommend trying Ceru, even if Mediterranean isn’t your go to food!More

Ceru produces excellent food from a variety of regions in the Levant. The flavours are authentic and the ingredients are varied and pare excellently with each other. The staff are knowledgeable of the menu and wines and are extremely friendly. My only criticism would be...that on our recent visit the food seemed to be spicier with more garlic, which I don’t like but the rest of the table were very happy!More
