I have been a guest at most well-known Mayfair restaurants including Novikov, Nobu and Sexy Fish for example. The quality of food and cocktails at MNKY HSE has topped them all. Not only that, the dark but chilled atmosphere paired with the DJ's music choices added to the jungle/monkey theme and made me and my friends have so much fun. The best thing about the visit was the service from Azamat who delivered us the 'spank the monkey' dessert with so much effort and even showed us where in the restaurant to take pictures. When all was done and we were leaving, he still made sure we got our monkey keepsakes that are at everyone's places at the table. Definitely the best service, atmosphere and food in Mayfair in my opinion.

Amazing food!! We did the set menu as booked on open table and the food was out of this world, we added a few extras as the portions are a bit small. Cocktails were also delish! Our waiter (I think he’s called valadis) was amazing too, had great recommendations for the food and drinks menu and you could tell he knew all about the menu which was super helpful. We will definitely return!

We had an absolutely amazing meal! The food was exceptional, and each dish was spoken through by our super friendly and attentive waiter. We had fried calamari for starters, with a really usual but tasty sauce along with chicken tacos….so tasty and zesty that we wanted more. For mains we had the freshest salmon we’ve ever eaten along with sliced chicken breast, again super tasty with spicy broccoli, salted roast potatoes and a corn salad with Parmesan. Wine pairing was with a delicious Pinot Grigio (not to mention cocktails too!). Finished off with an unusual twist on a tiramisu with guava ice cream. Service was second to none, Sarah (one of the managers) looked after us from start to finish and made sure our visit, which was a date night, went thoroughly smoothly. Please send our warmest thanks to our waiter who served us and the the amazing kitchen staff. Mnky House is a very contemporary and mystical place to eat, great music and a place to come and enjoy and let the ambience take over. We’ll be back for sure!

The experience is fantastic, that’s really all. The our server Miguel was wonderful. Gave excellent suggestions and gave such a positive vibe. This a place for very wealthy young people who just want a scene. The biggest issue we have is honestly the prices. They mark up almost everything 200-400%. We ordered a special wine that in other establishments is £200- 250 and we paid £870. We we’re celebrating our anniversary so we wanted something a little special. I started with the hamachi tiradito had white truffle so it was a bit pricey but the flavors were perfection. The beef churrasco was on a skewer and presented well, but it wasn’t worth £78. Overall, the food was nice, our server was great, but in addition to the extremely overpriced menu items they the add a 20% discretionary service charge. We tend to be very good tippers already, but it seemed a bit outrageous for a party of 2 to be charged such a large fee.

To be honest I wasn’t sure I actually wanted to go here in the first place . A friend had arranged to meet up and had been recommended Mnky Hse. Having looked at the pictures online I decided to wait in the pub round the corner, rather than sit in what looked like (and turned out to be) a really unwelcoming bar full of Bridge and Tunnel Only Way is Essex wannabies (That’s the issue of going out in London at the weekend – full of “outsiders”) Once at our table , having refused to sit in the one by the kitchen workstation we encountered our first challenge of the evening : reading the menu. The venue is so dark that everybody had their phones out (including the staff) to use the flashlight to attempt to see what was actually on offer. We had the usually blah blah blah about sharing and courses arriving “At the whim of the chef/kitchen” Always tried to avoid the sort of twatish places that do this – it’s lazy and makes the waiting staff sound imbecilic – they then doubled down on the other classic “I could put together a few courses/ selections if you like” Sure……are you paying for it as well ? Do I look like a toddler who has his food chosen by a parent ? Have you seen the prices on the menu ? Seriously have you seen them ? No ? Then get your torch out First challenge was drinks Do you want water ? Yea tap please – look of utter disdain and contempt We’ll have a bottle of still please Waiter arrives with two and promptly opens both (kerching) Wine list sir? Excuse me – can I check the currency on these wines ? This can’t be GBP – as this wine is £25 in the shops …………..so why is it £200+ here? Starters Gents – randomly arrive OK- I’m not sharing – so where’s mine? The chef just sends them out as per when sir Crispy squid finally arrives , and to be fair it’s relay good – but it should be for £26 (+ service) Main’s Gents? Sure , how many lamb cutlets do I get for £55 (Plus service) ? Three sir Three ? Yes three Just three ………………….for £55 !! Yes Christ ! Lamb ordered medium – arrive raw Wagu streak – ordered medium – arrived raw Poussin (Pigmy Chicken} – ordered “cooked” – arrived raw ! Going to MNKY HSE just confirmed why, as a Londoner, I’ve avoided this type of nonsense for years Somebody needs to tell the owners that all the Russian gangsters have had their credit cards turned off – although judging by the number of Albanians there it loos like there’s new money in town Other than the amazing (yes I’ll give them that) fried squid, the meal was awful – and the final bill could’ve paid for a desperate family of four to cross the English Chanel in a blow up paddling pool (which is where I assume most of those frequenting MNKY HSE made their money in the first place) If you still decide to go - bring a torch

We originally had booked for a Friday night but had to cancel because of Covid, so when a mid-week set menu was available we thought it was a perfect time to squeeze in a visit. When we arrived the staff were great, very friendly and attentive, we asked for all the menus, set, full, drinks and wine and our main waiter was on hand to answer any questions. He was great, had a suit jacket and a large ring (sorry didn't catch his name) Two of our group chose the Seabass Ceviche to start which was delicious, highly recommend. The chicken tacos were a huge disappointment, they lacked punch and seemed a bit bland. For main I had the Salmon which was faultless and the rest of the party opted for Poussin. Again is fell very flat, no real flavour and just a bit meh. The star of the show for the main course was the mushroom rice which we had as a side dish. The dessert was awful, really uninspiring and def not worth the calories. It was basically a scoop of ice cream with a dollop of cream and oreo. Really poor. The service apart from the first guy was really slow and we had to ask for our plates to be cleared and for more drinks. Would I go back? Hmmmmmmm I am not sure.

I would not recommend anyone to go here although the food is really good. Even when you’re not extremely hungry (and willing to drink 4/5 cocktails) you have to order food for 80 pounds each. We ordered around 140 pounds on food and the waitress came back telling us we had to order another dish to reach the 160. This happened to almost everyone around us, creating a really negative and embarrassing vibe. Luckily we were able to laugh about it but something like this would never happen in Amsterdam or Berlin. The fact that they force you to order more food is ridiculous. They actually lose a lot of money with this attitude.

So I arrive at the restaurant with my son and two friends for a celebration dinner 8pm , I’m 50 my son and friends are 23 , one has forgotten his ID he has a photo of his driving license on his phone plus his NHS Covid app which shows his date of birth . But this is not good enough for the “lady “ on the door so he heads all the way back to Barnet north London to get his driving license, by the time he arrives back the three of us have nearly come to the end of our meal time now 9.50 pm . We have the table till 10pm we get asked three times to pay the bill even though it’s not even 10pm and having run up a bill of £800, my sons friend is told he cannot come in because the time is up on the table even though he travelled home for two hours to get his ID . What an earth is going on with these pretentious pathetic plastic people who are employed by these establishments , if I was the owner and knew this is how they treat their clients I would fire them all immediately. What a sorry state of affairs, and how to ruin a night out by sad individuals who think they are more important than God . Stay well clear of this restaurant, to top it all as we leave they allow a girl in with a picture of her ID on her phone .

Very dissapointed. The food had no taste, was served cold and was overpriced. To top it off me and my partner had a bad stomach the next day. The service in this place was diabolical. We were seated in a corner and was ignored most of the night even though it was quite. Starters was served after our mains and the cocktails was completely amateur. My proscecco for my pornstar martini ended up on my clothes and table because the glass was too full of passion fruit juice. The bill was shocking for what this place is worth. What makes matters worse is they don't acknowledge customers complaints or take it very serious to improve, they simply don't care. Would of had a better night at the local chicken shop, at least I wouldn't of paid 300 pounds for diaria

Food is nice but its a social media fly trap. Music is way too loud it gave my a migraine. Why would you want to eat nice food with drum and bass blasting at 1,000 decibals I have no idea what their thinking is.

Me and my friends love to eat out especially in Mayfair restaurant and I was looking forward to eating at MNKY HSE for my birthday. One of the managers was so rude to us, and the food was dry, tasteless and the crab was burnt. We all had bad belly’s the next day. We spent £560 that night and it was the worst experience I have ever had in a “fine dining” restaurant. Waste of money.

The table is only available for 2 hours - this is written in the confirmation email but it was not reminded/communicated at the beginning of the dinner. At the end of the 2 hours we were still eating and we literally got kicked out of the restaurant: the manager (I think his name was Alberto, french) refused to give us more time to finish what we had ordered and even refused any other request to move to another smaller table and leave that table to other guests. As it's not a cheap restaurant (the minimum spend pp is 85£!!!), I think it was very rude and opportunistic to have such an attitude. We will never go back again.

I visited mnky hse a couple of weeks ago, and saw 2 MICE running around on the floor of the restaurant whilst having dinner. I was absolutely shocked! I spoke to the waiter regarding this, and by his response I knew this must of been an ongoing issue as he didn’t seem surprised at all. He just apologised and said they would call pest control the following day. I then asked to speak to the manager, who didn’t come out to speak to me face to face but told the waiter we could have our meal complementary. For the price pony of this restaurant this is unacceptable and needs to be dealt with asap!

There’s a minimum spend on food. I understand the logic of that. But not allowing alcohol to be included in that spend seems money grubbing. Also after embarrassing us about the minimum spend (having spent 400 on food and 300 on drinks wasn’t enough), they kicked us out as soon as we paid.

My family took me there for my birthday on a Thursday evening recently and in summary, this was our experience. Our waiter was unwelcoming and told us it was inconvenient that we wanted some nibbles before ordering our main meal. Rushed us to make our order and was rude when we asked about any of the dishes and gave us the most basic information. Every interaction he constantly ooked at us as if he had a problem with us being there. When the food finally came it was not very nice and very overpriced. For what is meant to be an upmarket restaurant they need to understand that making your customers have a great experience is the no 1 priority.

Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
