popped in for a simple brekkie. good service and a great range on the menu taking the size of the establishment into account. they also have a great little deli and other nick nacks to buy. good vibe and great to see people back and...working on the lap tops at the venue etc. prices are reasonable as well.More

The hot day cool Atlantic breeze was super welcome with views over the milk woods to the ocean. Both the chef and owner came to chat to us and the passion for simple Italian dishes made SO SO well came across with plenty of humour...Italain food with local flare.More

We are Kommetjie locals and have supported the expansion and growth of the hub and all its restaurants over at least the last 10 years. The food and offering were spectacular and the vibe was world-class. Go back 2 years in these reviews and this...viewpoint will be confirmed. I really don't like slamming restaurants especially after the last 2 Covid years, however, Sopra does very little to encourage one to visit more. New owners took over the upstairs restaurant +/- 2 years back and Sopra was born. Excellent we thought! An original Italian restaurant owned by an Italian with that simple yet delicious food so enjoyed in Italy itself. Sadly from a great beginning things have not gone well. Today's meal was less than average. A Caprese with almost no basil. Reheated, chewy pork belly. Pizza that was undercooked and very disappointing in both texture and flavour. It's simply not worth the "upper-tier-restaurant" prices being charged. The staff were cool and good in a not-busy environment, but one can tell from the conversations had with them that there are issues. For the prices charged the quality of food needs to be much much MUCH better. Introduce Aperitivo and bring some proper Italian soul into this establishment. Hopefully, the owner is listening and not out kiteboarding or surfing. Is it too much to ask for an Italian establishment to serve a Negroni as was expected based on a recent FB post? This establishment won't last much longer unless the owner starts to take a proper interest in it and I really hope they do.More

Breakfast today was a shocker - third successive bad experience over the past several weeks. I don’t know what has happened in the kitchen but what was a delightful way to start the morning is no longer; change of ownership means that I would be...better off cooking my own breakfast and saving an expense that was many-fold greater than the value of the raw ingredients. The Hub has lost the plot - turned an exquisite breakfast experience into a mediocre ordeal where the food is no better than a hastily prepared army ration.More

Meanwhile the restaurant is called Sopra. Best times are obviously over. The food is average, the service slow and not very attentative.

We were very disappointed with the menu at The Hub. Firstly Hake ( to my mind )is not a line fish. Two of the other main courses were unavailable. The choices left were not much to be desired so my husband had the pork sliders...disappointing.I...chose two starters as a main. They were well presented and tasty. We loved the old menu and it was good. The fact that there were very few tables occupied on a Saturday lunch says it all. Will not be going back again.More

Smallish menu, well trained staff. Superb Italian food under the guidance of an Italian guy. Delicious dishes - you will not know how good until you try. Definitely not mass exported Italian food, but the real thing. A wonderful new venture. We will be back...soon.More

The Hub is exceptional! Every village should aspire to have such a high quality shop/restaurant/cafe! We lived in Scarborough for nearly two months during the pandemic and went daily for one reason or another. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The coffee and croissants...are better than anywhere in central London and I can highly recommend the entire restaurant menu! Our kids continue to talk about the smoothies, pizzas and SOS fruit snacks and we all miss our daily visits immensely! If your in the area make sure you go! You’d be crazy not too :)More

We didn’t expect food quality of this level. We visited many restaurants during the years and this was quite frankly a great experience worth every coin! From appetizers to desserts everything was just really high quality and done with finesse!
