Very tasty food at this restaurant served in small plates to encourage sharing and a way to experience different dishes. Halloumi tacos - excellent Tuna ceviche - excellent, loved the chilli Thai salad - I need that recipe! Beetroot and feta - yep, good shtuff...Mushroom arancini - not as good as mine but still great Butternut squash - NO NO NO!!! Whoever came up with the idea of fresh lime, chilli and coriander are great ingredients but they simply don't go with burnt butternut squash.More

Fantastic food with great service. The restaurant is small and it was quite hot on a very sunny day but this didn’t spoil a wonderful meal.

Very good modern British food I would call it with a Mediterranean twist. . We dined here for a light lunch and the two of us had a total of four starters. They were absolutely fine about that. Quality/price ratio spot on. Dining room a...bit basic and uninspiring but quality of the food was superior. My take on ceaser salad with quality dressing and anchovies was above what I expected. Tomato bruschetta was also unusual but tasty and of high quality. RecommendMore

I hate to mark restaurants serving such excellent food down, but our overall experience when visiting for dinner last night was poor. The dishes themselves were excellent but the place itself is frenetic - we were in and out in 45 minutes with all dishes...arriving simultaneously. My main complaint though was the seating allocation. We invariably accept whichever table we’re offered, but it was a boiling hot evening (not your fault!) and despite empty tables being available in the front area by the open window, we were seated in the worst place, in the rear section right by the corridor and kitchen. After politely asking twice, we were moved to the seat by the rear window which was better (though my poor wife still nearly melted in the late evening sun), by which time all the other tables in our section were empty and remained so for the duration of our stay. I understand the challenges of running a small business like this, including getting the seating mix right for ambience etc. But why was it so difficult to offer two people who booked a fortnight ago and who arrived smart and on time, an empty table in the cooler and ‘happening’ section of the restaurant? The staff were all polite and friendly, but the pressure to turn tables round (mentioned in other reviews) shows in the service. Such a shame as you serve very tasty food at reasonable prices and under different circumstances we could have had a lovely time.More

Hi mark, Had hoped after our email conversation that this review wouldn’t have been written as I had been very appreciative of your feedback. And took it all on board. I don’t think people realise quite how damaging theee reviews can be to businesses. Kind...More

My wife and I booked on line after reading the reviews and we very aware of the time allocation. We quite simply had an amazing time. The staff were wonderful, front of house staff were friendly professional and informative about the menu options. The food...was exceptional ...we own a bar and will try and mimic several of the dishes however I already feel they'll be a poor copy. The menu had enough choice to meet everyone's palette. Although we were absolutely stuffed we still forced down a dessert each. We talked about the food all night and still are. We had a wonderful experience from beginning to end. I must apologise for making you run down the road to give me my bag that I had left behind!? This is a MUST VISIT restaurant. I absolutely can't wait to go back. Well done guys xxxMore

A cute cozy little cafe with fantastic food and coffee for breakfast, lunch or dinner also not too expensive, can get very busy so probably should book.

Outstanding food, everything was delicious, did not have a particularly child friendly menu, but staff tried their best to come up with a simpler version of some dishes.

Stunning food TERRIBLE front of house. We ordered 12 dishes but only received 10 then when we questioned this - I quote ‘you can either have those dishes you’re waiting for or pudding as you can’t have both as you need to leave after it’....Awkward when we were technically waiting fir fudges we ordered but were not put through. We were chased out of the restaurant for the next table (1 h 45 mins) to arrive - who were no where to be seen. We ordered cocktails which were lovely. But the food was knockout. Also avoid the table by the window as you’ll get very hot as there is no air conditioning or blinds to elevated the direct sun in the pm.More

No air con unfortunately- it’s not allowed in listed buildings in rye. But we do have lots of big sash windows open!
