This was our first time at the Star and Garter and the setting and ambience are both excellent. I might have given it 4 stars but given the cost of the meal (over £80 for two courses including only one alcoholic drink, a beer) I...More

I was taken here by two locals who told me the food was great and, by the look of most of the reviews, people seem to agree with that. But, since reviews are about personal opinions and specific experiences, I’m afraid mine will be a...More

Great service (thanks Lottie) with quality food, excellent location, warm atmosphere. Interesting wine list (recommend the white rioja) and real ales. Vegetarian option did not suit my son but chef was happy to make up a pasta dish instead.

Luke warm food on cold plates was disappointing. Small side dish of ‘greens’ was stringy undercooked something - not sure what - for an extortionate £3.50. However, I must acknowledge that the service was superb. Such a pity that the food didn’t match. Acceptably tasty...More

I went to the Star and Garter with my wife and a couple of friends for dinner a few weeks ago. We'd read a lot about it and finally made the effort to venture down from St Agnes - and I'm so glad we did!...More

Hands down one of the best restaurants in Falmouth. I’ve been coming here for years and never had anything to complain about. It’s always open, standards are impeccable, the staff are amazing and the food, especially if you’re a meat eater, is the best for...More

Henry my son still talks about the steak he ate here last year, so my partner and I decided to visit the Star this weekend together and it’s still just as good. We had a couple of Negroni’s at the bar before being shown our...More

There is limited parking availability 50 meters before the restaurant, the entrance of the restaurant is on a slope and for wheelchairs not friendly.

Description
Here at the Star and Garter, we're passionate about our ingredients and work closely with some of the best artisan suppliers in the county. We cook over an open fire and have a "nose to tail" philosophy, meaning we can pick and choose what goes on the menu each day, ensuring the whole animal is used and everything is as fresh and seasonal as it can be.But most importantly, we love what we do. We have live jazz and blues music on Sunday and Monday nights.
