We arrived by taxi and eventually found the restaurant down a very uninspiring street. The outside looked ok and as did the inside until we saw the restaurant’s new under the sea mural. Its very big and I’m sure I have seen something similar at...More

A lovely welcoming restaurant. It is essential that you book ahead of time to ensure your table will be available and ready. The experience is truly wonderful as the food presented was to the highest of levels. Both lovely to look at at and delightful...More

Four of us had dinner here last night and opted not to look at the menu so that we could have a surprise at each course Every course was fantastic, the service was attentive but not overbearing, the staff friendly and welcoming The highlight for...More

Just back from lunch at Wilks restaurant. Opted for the tasting menu with matching wines - a real treat and well deserving of its Michelin star. Five course tasting menu, is actually a similar price to the 3 course a la carte and superb value....More

We decided upon the taster menu with paired wines plus the cheese course with paired wine which are charged extra. This choice should have given the restaurant the best opportunity to show off their skills. As it turned out the meal was well cooked but...More

The restaurant is tucked slightly off the beaten track in Redland but has a feel of cool sophistication. It was a Sunday night, the restaurant was not full and at first we thought it lacked a bit of atmosphere – it was very quiet –...More

The main course and dessert were very nice. The Amuse bouche, starter and fish course were all very similar and lacked texture. The food was nice but not massively exciting. There was very little atmosphere in the restaurant. As a group a four looking for...More

It's over 2 years since I last ate at Wilks and, prompted by a voucher gift, it was a pleasure, in every way, to visit again and spend far more than I had intended, but without any regret, and the occasion was a rare, but...More

I decided to take my wife as a treat and to dutifully visit the last michelin star restaurant in Bristol. My expectations were quite high, given how you need to book reasonably far in advance. The decor is pleasant and quite a modern feel to...More

They are a popular restaurant. We went at a weekend and booking was essential. You might be lucky during the week but I wouldn't chance it myself!

I've eaten there twice and would say that smart casual is the norm if you want to feel comfortable.
