Food is amazing and staff are friendly. They have all the usual chinese restaurant/takeaway favourites but also some more interesting dishes. Lots of dishes are gluten free or can be made gluten free, so lots of choice for coeliacs. Wish they did deliveries, but is...worth the trip to little stoke.More

We gave this restaurant a try even though it is tucked out of the way on a newish estate somewhere between the UWE and Lockleaze, but the address is officially Stoke Gifford. We booked a table for early evening and we are so glad that...we chose to eat here. The service was excellent with friendly efficient and quick service. The food was very delicious with good portion sizes. We will definitely be returning to eat here again and highly recommend it to anyone who loves Chinese/Asian food. Just to help anyone who decides to eat here, there is free parking at the rear with a two hour limit, and apparently you should not park in the spaces for a child's nursery until after 6pm.More

We were visiting Bristol and wanted to eat at a Chinese restaurant and found this one on google, with great recommendations. Although we hadn't booked, we were welcomed and seated quickly. The food was delicious and the staff were fantastic. I would highly recommend this...restaurant and will go again next time we are in the area.More

First time eating in the restaurant, after so many amazing take aways. Very clean, amazing customer service and on top, the food is just fabulous. Faultless. 100% recommend as a take away and eat in. After moving out of the area, I will definitely travel...back for this particular Restaurant (1.5 hours…) Thank you Hao Wei & Team.More

I did not find any Chinese taste in the food. It was smelling stale as if made too early. One of my friends recommended that place , probably she had a better experience which means the standard deteriorates recently.

Been so long since I dined in a restaurant and thought I choose Hao Wei with my friends as it’s first and I must say it’s been absolutely amazing as always! Leon who was our waiter was very friendly and service by him was amazing...and he apologised for the long wait but we could see that the restaurant and takeaway was very busy so we didn’t mind the wait.More

It is really sad, that having travelled extensively in China, most 'Chinese' food you find in takeaways in Bristol (in I assume the UK), serve dishes that are gloopy and full of weird, thick sauce. For example, we tried the Szechuan chicken at Hao Wai....Now, Szechuan food is freshly cooked with spices, and when done well, is a delicious cuisine. However, this was bits of meat served up in a thick gloopy - and weirdly bright red - sauce which tasted like it could come from a mass produced jar. It was pretty horrible. It was exactly the same for the char sui (Cantonese ) pork - served in a bright red gloopy sauce - there was nothing remotely Cantonese about it. The Wanton and chef special prawns were OK - not spectacular but OK - actually anything not served up on this thick sauce was OK. There are some, but not that many, places in Bristol where you can get really good, authentic Chinese food (Mayflower , for example). I have come to the conclusion, given the many positive reviews here, that this is Chinese food, given to the locals on the basis of this is how they like it, but it is not very Chinese really. If you want proper Chinese food, go where the Chinese go (Mayflower or Nelson Street, next to the Chinese shop, ditto Denmark St, next to the shop), and not here - unless you like the thick gloop of course, in which case, fill your boots.More

Hi I would like to start off by saying there is nothing wrong with what our locals like to enjoy. We are in the UK and this is their preference of food. At Hao Wei, just like the other two restaurants mentioned we have two...More
